I am suffering so bad with concentration and focus its affecting my work BAD... I DO GET THE WEIRD FEELINGS AND THE SHOCK LIKE WAVES GOING THROUGH MY BODY. I KNOW THIS HAS TO BE SOME TYPE OF REACTION TO GETTING OFF.
However, I got a blood test done 4 days after my last injection and my testosterone was 323 which is super low especially for me. Being a huge hypochondriac, which the adderall has helped with, I started looking online, which I know is a big no no. I read several cases where aderall can raise your prolactin level, which in turn lowers your testosterone. My level before I started taking aderall was fine. I am wondering if anyone can shed some light on this for me.
And also, I want to know the effects of mixing Paxil, Lithium and Adderall together. I was on those drugs in my teens and it seems like now my memory is really bad. Does anyone know if there are any long term effects on your memory from any of these drugs or mixing these drugs? Any help would be appreciated.
WE TOOF HIM OFF OF THE MEDICINE AND HE HAS BEEN OFF FOR ABOUT 1 1/2 WEEKS NOW. HE STILL HAS THE EYE BLINKING. WE NEVER NOTICED THIS WITH ADDERALL. I was diagnosed with major depressive disorder 5 years ago and have been taking 20mg of Lexapro and 300mg of WELLBUTRIN XL. I believe they have relieved most of the symptoms of depression but may have exacerbated the Akathisia type symptoms.
My question is can Akathisia or some other disorders similar to this occur without drug therapy? Could there be a connection between this non drug induced Akathisia and the depression I have suffered from throughout my life?

For a patient who has ADD, there is nothing wrong with taking Adderal or other prescribed stimulant. I nearly flunked out of college until I got diagnosed, then with stimulant treatment I got my Pharm.D. and eventually a Ph.D. and it was easy with simple, safe meds (ritalin, dexedrine, adderall. desoxyn...we tried them all until we found a dose that works).

Adderall is speed, and while speed has long been used for depression, as they say, speed kills. You get used to it and have to keep taking more, and it's hard to stop taking it. wow i thought i was pretty much effed for life, i tried lexapro, effexor, ativan, adderall, zanex, welbuterin and u know the usual bs. At the point of seeing a stranger in my reflection with no one left to tell i just stopped caring about even taking yaz and soon after i fell like i was slowly waking up. A friend of mine that I've known for 15 years now has been acting a little strange lately. On Tuesday 5/20 she called me late & told me she was on her way to my house b/c she was leaving her husband of 8 years. She said she needed a place to stay til Friday. She did not tell her sister parents what she was doing. Her husband told them on Thurs. 5/22. The next day, Friday, her family tried to sit her down & talk to her about what she was doing. She punched her sister in the face.
I am a 27 year old female. When I was 22, I took the drugs adderall, lexapro and ephedrine/phentermine (diet pills-occasionally). One night, my heart rate shot up and would not come back down, don’t matter what I tried. I went to the emergency room and they said it was the drugs I was taking. When I was 23, I began having syncope episodes and got a pacemaker. Looking back, I believe the syncope episodes were caused by the adderall and lexapro. However, I have had chest pains ever since.
The question is can you live with the extra anxiety if the adderall is really helping you? The problem with taking an upper (adderall) and a downer (ativan) together is that they will counter act against each other and neither one will be as effective in your system. You said that you were just diagnosed? Is this your first add medication? You may want to consider trying a different one if the adderall continues to give you problems.
Thanks VIC, you know I always thought the opiates where the main issue because of the physical withdrawals you face, but considering I was basically taking a speed ball everyday with the opiates/adderall I think it did a number on my brain. The Lexapro made me feel medicated, but not like I don't feel any sadness type medicated. I wouldn't mind feeling lethargic as long as I was depressed and felt so hopeless as well.
I was diagnosed years ago with generalized anxiety disorder and performance anxiety and at one time had done group therapy as well as seeing someone individually. I believe I started with Lexapro and then after a few years changed to Prozac as I was wanting to become pregnant and it doesnt stay in the system as long. Obviously once I became pregnant, I went off of everything.
If you're saying the Effexor was working well for your depression but isn't anymore, it may be it's tapped out -- these drugs do poop out on many people. The only solution for that is to change meds. (if you do that, do it very slowly, as slowly as you need to).
