swollen ankles on holiday

I own my own pair of boots which fit perfectly at the beginning of the day, but as the day goes on, after lots of skiing, my feet swell up and cause restriction of the blood supply. This causes pins and needles and pain in my toes. Last year, my big toenails went black and dropped off it was so bad, yet the boots have been fitted and fit properly and comfortably at the beginning of each holiday.

I've been having major problems with swollen ankles over and over. I am on a salt free diet and I eat as healthy as I possibly can. Does anyone else have the symptom of swelling and what do you do about it? My concern is that the area that swells is getting larger. One day last week my legs were swollen all the way up to my knees.

In the meantime, start on 2000 mg of vitamin C a day (2 grams), divided throughout the day, preferably on crystaline form (not tablets). Vitamin C is a mild diuretic.

t see my ankles being those round balls on the side of your feet, does that mean my feet are swollen. I only just noticed it today and I really hope I am not swelling because I haven't had it with my other kiddies. I will take a picture and try and load it up. How can I make the swelling go down??

I am 46 years old. For the last week or so my ankles have been very swollen. I have a rash, kinda looks like a razor rash, it hurts to the touch. Feels like bruising underneath but not discolored like a bruise would be. I dont have any insurance and it is hard to see a doc. Just wondering if anyone else ever had these symptoms. Oh, and in the morning when I get out of bed and walk my ankles feel like they are burning, on fire.

About a week ago I was hospitlaized for chest pains and swollen ankles. I had an echo and a cardio cath done to see if there were any blockages. To my surprise there was no blockages. the doctors placed me on meds for hypertention and gave me a water pill, I do not have the pain in my chest anymore but I still have the swelling in my ankles and it seems to be getting worse what could be going on?

My feet, ankles and lower legs tend to swell most days, especially if I'm up on my feet all day (at work for example). But the doctor isn't concerned. I puff up all day and piddle all night. Perhaps it's just my old blood vessels aren't working as well as they used to. Don't have varicose veins so who knows? I follow a low sodium diet just because it's the smart thing to do. Also learned more about it when my Dad was diagnosed with heart failure. Wanted to support him.

I have been on Coumadin for almost five months as I had a blood clot form in my heart, go through my artery and kill part of my small intestine. The past few days my ankles have been very swollen. They are normally boney, but now are like grapefruits. I'm also not real steady on my feet, occasionally I fall to the side, losing my balance. Do you think the Coumadin is causing the swelling?

My ankles have been swelling since May. I went to the doctor on June 4 and she said it was edema, and prescribed 20mg of furosemide daily. I have been taking the med since then, and even doubling the dose, and it still has not gotten rid of the swelling. My left ankle is usually worse. THERE IS NO WAY TO DIAGNOSE YOU WITHOUT AN EXAMINATION BY A DOCTOR. What do you mean by a lump? Do you mean swollen ankles? When you press there with your finger does it leave an indention there? This could be many things from water imbalance, heart problems causing edema, diabetes causing burning in feet, neurological, bone injury. It is impossible to know without testing and examination by a doctor. ONLY A DOCTOR CAN DIAGNOSE YOU.

This month my period was late by 5 days and my ankles started to swell on the 3rd day of my period not the week before like it had been. Should I be really worried about this change and how long my ankles are staying swollen?
