15355684 tn?1440035790 The key to success with this program is to replace the reduced carb and protein intake with healthy fats such as coconut oil, avocado, butter, olive oil and fats from healthy pastured animals. Coconut oil is particularly beneficial for brain health and has actually been shown to be helpful in senile dementia. You can protect your brain by giving it healthful fats from whole foods, such as organic eggs from pastured hens, whole raw milk from pastured cows, raw nuts, avocados, and olive oil.
Avatar f tn I would suggest switching to a healthy low fat diet with plenty of fruits and green leafy vegetables; and see if these help with the symptoms. If there is no improvement seen or the stools continue to be dark, you may consider an evaluation by a gastroenterologist for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. Hope this is helpful. Take care!
Avatar f tn Okay, I have to confess that I've not been exercising lately - but I have usually worked out 2 to 4 times a week for years and years, until I got a cold a few weeks ago. Nevertheless, by eating smaller portions and with the help of hypnosis, I've lost close to 25 lbs in the past year or so and am now at what I thought would be my goal weight of 135. I'm a 65 year old female, small boned, presently 65 inches tall (lost an inch since my youth, when I stood at 5'6").

Avatar n tn Thanks for your reply. It has not been confirmed that I have underactive thyroid, I figured it out for myself, because my doctors are ignoring my increased weight, trying to get information from them is like trying to get blood out of a stone. Initially I went to see them 2 years ago regarding the menopause. I did'nt know you put on weight with meno until I looked it up.
Avatar f tn I was even told at one point by 2 diffeent doctors i was in early menopause, another dr told me there was nothing she could do and then I found my doctor who I love that was willing to treat this aggressively(because of my age, 35 when we were TTC this time) I am happy to say that with surgery and meds I am now 37w1d pg with a little girl, so there is always hope. Good luck to you.
7600327 tn?1393358885 Thanks... I'm really going to have to start meal prepping, because if I keep eating like this I'll be huge before I even start showing.
Avatar f tn I've not had those symptoms, but in general, my doctor's approach is to treat symptoms if they are bothersome enough to warrant doing so. Menopause is a collection of symptoms. Treating the symptoms won't "cure" menopause, but it could sure help. Have you treated your anxiety either through therapy, medicine, meditation, exercise? I hope you get relief!
Avatar f tn had three more after without any more promblems but for a little over a year now i have been having hot sweats went to the dr.
Avatar n tn The best weight loss diet I had to start for my new lifestyle healthy change. I know fresh is better but frozen is just as good and more convenient...

1258539 tn?1293840202 Since you asked for suggestions, I would also like to add that you might want to check out St Johns wort ,along with GABA, Valerian Root, Hops. These help with the depression and other mood issues that go along with this. Personally, I prefer these over Rx antidepressants, but to each his own, as the saying goes. Best to ya!
Avatar f tn Hey ladies! I was just wondering have you guys thought of making your placenta in to a pill form to take, I heard it's good to help prevent postpartum depression and with breastmilk production, have you thought of this or do you know someone who's done this and what their experience has been like. I would appreciate any kind of information!
1710279 tn?1314100929 Try some relaxation techniques and find a good therapist who uses hypnosis for teaching you ways to relax yourself with meds.. The same thing happened to me this summer and Thought I had an anxiety disorder.. Then you get the panic attacks and the constant worrying about will it happen at work, whats wrong with me, and it causes more of them.. Check at Andrew Johnson's website in Scotland, he has terrific relaxation mp3s if you like. They have been helping me.
Avatar f tn Well it sounds like it is beginning to get a little irregular so menopause may be in the near future. I've heard of it taking years to complete. Wow I've never heard of anyone wanting menopause so bad. I'm sure it will eventually happen. Try talking to your gyno about this, maybe there is something that can induce menopause.
Avatar n tn I am 50 years old and was diagnosed with fibromyalgia brought on by menopause. I have gained weight and lost so much muscle. I am so motivated to lose weight but nothing works. I have turned to a vegan lifestyle, walk 2.5 miles a day, religiously count my calories, and drink at least 48 oz of water a day if not more. I lost 1 pound in 2 weeks!!! Can anyone relate to what I am going through and give me some helpful advice...please???
Avatar n tn Yes this quite normal, very annoying but normal. I think with menopause its expect the unexpected! You can still conceive believe it or not. You can say after no period for a year that you have gone through the menopause, but for some women it can be 2 years. Periods can be quite heavy or light but they are very irregular. Its not a nice time, especially when you think they have stopped and then 6 months later you get a period! Hugs!
15946915 tn?1444173614 Then 10 days after my surgery, I had complications, as my bowel twisted and I had to have emergency surgery to have part of my bowel removed. I almost died, but I am lucky and I feel not too bad for the most part, but I am now having problems with my estrogen. It is very very low which I expected after having my 1st operation. I have a lot of hot flashes and nausea. I also have anxiety and feel depressed at times. I am looking for any one who can give me any advice on my situation.

535089 tn?1400673519 I have been suffering with this right quadrant pain that radiates to the lower back for sometime now. It gets almost unbearable when lying flat on my back. Not only does the right quadrant hurt with a sharp pain but have a low grade fever of 2 weeks that is presistant. Just recently I have been unable to urinate and have had major fluid retention as a result. I was ultimately Catheterized twice in one day at the ER. The fluid retention has since subsided and I am urinating normally.
Avatar n tn You should take a pregnancy test and see if it's positive. Either way, it's worth following up with your doctor for blood work, they can confirm if you are pregnant or not, but also tell you if you are starting menopause. Good Luck!
Avatar f tn Hi ladies, I am hoping to find a menopause supplement to take to control my menopause symptoms. I have some fatigue and anxiety and weight gain. I don't have any hot flashes thank goodness! I have heard some horror stories with that so I am thankful I don't have those. I do need to get the menopause belly under control. I have been reading online about things that 'create' the menopause belly and the biggest thing is getting to the point of insulin resistance.
