Avatar f tn This along with exercise, stress reduction, (yoga is the best for me) and supplements have been shown to help other women.. Avatar n tn Help, My Son is now 16 months and just refuses to eat most finger foods, he even is starting to not eat stage 3 which is what we give him now to get some nutrients in him. He will chew and mash it but refuses to swallow and spits it out. Most of the time as soon as he sees a fork or spoon before taking the first bite he's already throwing his arms up and screaming. This is every meal now. He appears to be hungry because he will point at it when he wants it but to no luck.

Avatar f tn Not sure if the superfoods have causes this grainy stool, but I am concerned since it lasts for a couple of days. I have opted to skip a few days between the smoothies to see if there is a difference in my stool and yes, today, that are somewhat (minor) more consistent and compacted. HELP. Should I be worried?
Avatar f tn Congrats on your weight loss this year! I have to slightly disagree with the responses to do crunches. Not that doing crunches will do any harm, but ab work alone isnt enough to change your stomach. You arent going to see any kind of definition in your stomach if there is still a layer of fat covering your abs. And crunches don't burn enough calories to trim your stomach down either. Cardio will be more effective for trimming your waistline than crunches would be.

Avatar f tn t have hypothyroidism or insulin resistance, both of which are known to make it difficult to impossible to lose weight... I have them both, so weight loss is always a struggle for me. For thyroid function, you should ask for Free T3, Free T4 and TSH and for insulin resistance, ask for fasting blood glucose and hemoglobin A1c. Because of your age, I'd also suggest that you also get checked for PCOS (Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome), which also makes losing weight very difficult.
Business woman1 for the benefit of alexalan I want to add a bit to the discussion. Weight gain can be complicated. Our weight will fluctuate and it may never have anything to do with a fat cell or the hypertrophy of them. Water weight plays a large role when you look at a scale weight. For example, when a person goes on a low carbohydrate diet they will lose weight very quickly, there will be fat loss and water loss. If you look at the word carbohydrate...the word hydrate is attached to the word.

723842 tn?1231534472 There are numerous web sites that will assist you with calculating the # of calories you need each day just to maintain your weight, then in order to lose, you will need to create a deficit by eating less and using more calories. 2 hours seems like a long time to walk in the park, but if you are used to walking you'd be ok. If you are not used to exercising then 2 hours is much too long. You need to start out slowly - try 15 min to begin and gradually add a few minutes each day.

Avatar f tn Cardio does help out but so does nutrition and other factors. It's all about what you are eating and portion sizes. You can still eat out and be healthy, you just have to make healthy choices. I'm sure the running will help…it's good for your heart!
Avatar f tn Metformin will cause dangerously low blood sugar in the non-diabetic. This cycle will backfire and cause the body to store fat. There are alot of pills out there that will bring short term weight loss. The challenge is not so much losing the weight but keeping it off. Only serious lifestyle changes that include a balanced diet and exercise will help you to effectively manage your weight. Nobody wants to hear that but it's true.
