In fact, strenuous exercise can even make it harder to lose weight, for many people. (I keep saying "many people," because it's highly individualized.) Diet, for many people, is much more important for weight loss than exercise is.

For years I experimented with different gyms, running, hiking, biking, aerobics classes, squash, raquetball, rock climbing, yoga, and it wasn't until I found an activity that was fun to me (crossfit) that I really noticed a significant change. So, my advice, is to try to find something you enjoy doing and then go from there.

I don't know how old you are or anything, but - well, let's face it -- gravity takes over at some point and there's bound to be a few sags........... There may be exercises that you can do to maintain muscle fitness in that area, but there's no way to know if you will regain "the mass"....... You need to work on eating right and toning your whole body not just parts of it.

I am 12 weeks and I want to try and keep my weight gain at 15 pounds or less. My normal calorie intake to maintain a deficit for weight loss is around 1400 calories. Maintenance is around 1800.
