suboxone

10623623 tn?1414292089 Doxepin is a tricyclic antidepressant drug with significant sedative effect. Its FDA approved for insomnia. Also, suddenly discontinuing Doxepin may cause withdrawals so be aware of that.
Avatar n tn The idea is the patch keeps you from feeling the effects of the suboxone withdrawal. My Doctor said it takes on average three months for suboxone to leave the blood stream. In my case it took longer. I've been off suboxone since may 2008, and off fentanyl since august 2008. I'm still a wreck, fatigue, loose stoole, depression, anxiety, insomnia, constant sneezing, stuffy nose, watery eyes, etc....I've been off of everything for one month, and things got worse before they got better.
Avatar m tn I have been clean 11 Months and still seem to be getting withdrawal symptoms? Nothing like the initial symptoms, but bad enough How long can i expect this to last?.
Avatar m tn I have been off Suboxone for 1 week now. My Dr had had prescribed a 2 week withdrawal script but I am unable to take this due to a court ordered program. This Drug Court has said I MUST be clean from this and any other drugs by Nov. 2nd. I've signed my life away to do this so I MUST be clean. Questions: 1.How long will this stay in my system? I had tested positive after taking no Suboxone for 3 days. The court said I should have been negative. They have given me 2 weeks to do this.
Avatar f tn There are over the counter sleeping aid, such as Valerian or Melatonin that I sometimes recommend for insomnia related to withdrawals, but I suggest that you find a physician who you can speak honestly and openly with, and who will help you temporize such symptoms as depression and insomnia that may linger after withdrawal from Suboxone for as long as a few months. Good luck to you.
1892616 tn?1333769938 I think you would be foolish at this stage to go on Suboxone. You are playing with fire and if you think the withdrawal from opiates was bad, well...you ain't seen nothing yet. You have come so far. Is it really that bad that you can't endure this for a few more days or maybe a week? I just think you would be throwing a lot away and taking a step back. Certainly it is your choice but I hope you think long and hard about it.
Avatar n tn What dose of sub did u jump from? I was on sub several months but switched a week ago to oxy hoping that would give me a typical oxy detox and not the hellish wd of sub. All I can say is that it will get better but I know with sub detox sub takes longer to get out of the system. What day are u on now? Hang in there. Subs a great tool but I never used it right. I was prescribed 8 mgs but only took maybe 2 mgs and did oxy on top. Stupid but thats what I did.
Avatar f tn Begin a taper with your doctor. Suboxone has a long half life so you should taper coming off. The withdrawal from suboxone is bad that is why I am encouraging you. I don't want to see you trade one drug for another.
Avatar m tn I've been on suboxone a lil over 2years. I was addicted to Laura tabs and opanas for about a year and a half. I wanted to try and get clean but the withdrawals was too much seeing I worked 40+ hours around the clock so my buddy hooked me up with a couple of subs saying they would help me get off opiates which they did but I slowly started to get addicted to the suboxone. Next thing I know I'm buying them every week off the street.
1800740 tn?1324237171 My suboxone doctor has me on a fairly slow taper. I am at 2 mgs now and he wants me to jump off completely around Christmas. Since I was on a low dose of methadone (30 mgs. per day) before I went to suboxone, he seems to think it will be quite easy for me. In December, I will have been on suboxone for a year. Meanwhile, I'm reading horror stories about suboxone withdrawal. Do you think I will have an easy time during wds?
Avatar f tn Fever, pain, chills, fatigue, insomnia. I am trying b6 , coconut water, Motrin, Xanax. Starting day three nothing is helping. Any suggestions. I can't stay down in bed a week.
Avatar f tn I suffered some pretty severe withdrawal. I was on suboxone for 2 1/2 years. And Yes, I too hated the little orange demons I grew to rely on so badly. But HAPPILY, VERY HAPPILY I can report that I took my last suboxone on 9/2/08 and am feeling GREAT. Physically and mentally. I havent felt this good in a many many years. SO there is life after suboxone. Talk to your doc about a proper taper and get yourself ready. When the time is right, you can quit.
4653043 tn?1357602278 Hi guys. :) This is my first day on this forum. I need some emotional support! I'm on day 1 of percocet withdrawal and I know it's only going to get worse. I've been on about 80mg/day for 8 months. I just am looking for an idea of what to expect: a) how many days am I going to be "down for the count" and unable to return to work, and b) what are the typical things I can expect, and finally c) which day(s) are going to be the worst?
Avatar f tn One more thing Dr. Julie. So sorry for double posting. U said gently taper down. So don't just stop even tho I only take it a few times a week for just this small period of time u do think I should taper instead of stop? Would u suggest just 2mg until I run out? I only have 3/8 mg strips left which if split careful will last at least 10 days. I know u have to speak from a dr perspective as well but I don't get the month lasting withdrawal.
Avatar n tn How long will suboxone withdrawal last? I am at 39 days off suboxone and still experiencing mild withdrawal. I was on sub. for around 2 1/2 yrs. and jumped off at 12mg. It is definitely not as bad as the first few weeks but this is lasting forever. I had to withdraw from college this quarter and haven't been back to work for a while. Is anyone going through the same situation?
Avatar f tn Sometimes I think readdicting myself to oxy and dealing with that short withdrawal would be better for me. Idk what to do. I'm scared and lost.
Avatar m tn Realize that opioid dependence is a lifelong condition for the vast majority of people. My opinion is just that-- my opinion-- but it is based on my own 20 years as a recovering opioid addict, and my experience treating several hundred people with buprenorphine over the past 6 years. I see many people who follow a certain pattern-- they are addicted to opioids and lose everything, then they go on buprenorphine and get their lives back....
1661181 tn?1304522243 I found out yesterday that my subutex doc is closing down his clinic. I have been on subutex for 2 1/2 years and am ready to get off it ....can anyone tell me how bad the withdrawals are from experience? I have a doc appt next week and will be talking to him about weaning off but he is the doc hasnt actually taken these nor has he ever stopped taking them to really know how bad the withdrawal is goin to be.
Avatar m tn t have acute withdrawal, vomiting, shaking sweats, you know the symptoms. Anxiety, digestion, RLS, and insomnia are more likely. Every body is different. Consider 8mgs of sub is equal to 320mgs morphine, so I would taper down fast and be done. Taper doesn't seem to shorten detox, but reduces the severity. Are you doing this alone or with a doctor?
Avatar m tn s BP, the amitriptyline has mild antidepressant qualities along with some pain relieving properties). Short of going a meth or suboxone route, I think these things are about the only relatively safe drugs (from an addiction and side effect standpoint) that I know of....I haven't seen anything else that has been talked about with any fequency to recommend. Once you decide to stop using, you can expect 4 pretty rough days before the physical wd's begin to turn for the better.
