Suboxone withdrawal depression

Common Questions and Answers about Suboxone withdrawal depression

suboxone

Avatar f tn I would be reluctant to go off any opiate while on interferon therapy; the risk of depression from the interferon is quite high, and the opiate withdrawal could precipitate a very serious depression that requires stopping treatment for the hep C. There are a number of reasons people have trouble stopping Suboxone; the biggest reason is because it is hard to stop ANY opiate, including Suboxone.
Avatar f tn I have been doing crumbs of suboxone everyday for the past 10 months or so. I WANT my life back and to be free of suboxone. Im not prescribed to it, one pill last me up to 3 weeks to a month. I've tried to get off of it, but I can't take the withdrawal, the depression and the RLS is the worst for me. Anybody have any advice with this? I know im at a very low dose but it still seems like its gonna be harddd. I used to do a quarter a day.
Avatar m tn I've been on suboxone a lil over 2years. I was addicted to Laura tabs and opanas for about a year and a half. I wanted to try and get clean but the withdrawals was too much seeing I worked 40+ hours around the clock so my buddy hooked me up with a couple of subs saying they would help me get off opiates which they did but I slowly started to get addicted to the suboxone. Next thing I know I'm buying them every week off the street.
Avatar m tn I have been clean 11 Months and still seem to be getting withdrawal symptoms? Nothing like the initial symptoms, but bad enough How long can i expect this to last?.
Avatar f tn m exhausted and I look absolutely awful! Can suboxone cause depression especially after being on it for this long. I do take cymbalta (60 mg) per day. Nothing seems to make me feel better. I'm also experiencing tremendous cravings for the opiates I haven't had since i started suboxone! I think I'm losing my mind. Anyone else go thru/going thru this??? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
1800740 tn?1324237171 My suboxone doctor has me on a fairly slow taper. I am at 2 mgs now and he wants me to jump off completely around Christmas. Since I was on a low dose of methadone (30 mgs. per day) before I went to suboxone, he seems to think it will be quite easy for me. In December, I will have been on suboxone for a year. Meanwhile, I'm reading horror stories about suboxone withdrawal. Do you think I will have an easy time during wds?
1818670 tn?1324702522 I told my suboxone doc last time I was in to see him that I was having a lot of anxiety even with my depression meds and suboxone so he prescribed my Clonidine twice a day- 0.1mg Has this med worked on others?? I know it is used for other things and I just dont see a difference, but know I cant have too much cause its for BloodPressure as well, right?? I dont know,.. So if anyone can post and we can go from here with questions!!! I would appreciate it! Thanks!
Avatar f tn I would have never thought after six weeks you could still feel like day one of withdrawal. So my other question is how is Suboxone withdrawal compared to methadone withdrawal.
Avatar f tn I am also aware of the many research studies that demonstrate less-severe withdrawal from Suboxone compared to withdrawal from agonists in 'blinded' research trials. Finally, a number of treatment centers use Suboxone as a 'tapering agent' to help people get through opiate withdrawal. Again, I talk in greater detail on the blog, but one final comment: the withdrawal is unusual in several aspects from what people usually expect.
Avatar n tn As I have said many times, the reason people think that Suboxone withdrawal is so horrible is only because people can sometimes taper off Suboxone, whereas they almost never taper off vicodin or oxycodone. In general, the withdrawal depends on the tolerance (which relates more to the dose you have taken than to the time you have taken it), the half-life of the drug, and the potency of the drug. Vicodin contains hydrocodone, which is intermediate potency and intermediate half-life.
Avatar m tn For me, aside of the terrible much worse than DOC physical withdrawal that came along with suboxone withdrawal after taking suboxone for over 2 years -- what I am still fighting and grappling with is the devastating depression or dysphoria that has come with quitting. I know for certain for ME (I cannot speak for eveyrone as everyone's stuff is individual) depression like this did not come after any other detox or after any other drug use.
Avatar m tn Realize that opioid dependence is a lifelong condition for the vast majority of people. My opinion is just that-- my opinion-- but it is based on my own 20 years as a recovering opioid addict, and my experience treating several hundred people with buprenorphine over the past 6 years. I see many people who follow a certain pattern-- they are addicted to opioids and lose everything, then they go on buprenorphine and get their lives back....
Avatar n tn The idea is the patch keeps you from feeling the effects of the suboxone withdrawal. My Doctor said it takes on average three months for suboxone to leave the blood stream. In my case it took longer. I've been off suboxone since may 2008, and off fentanyl since august 2008. I'm still a wreck, fatigue, loose stoole, depression, anxiety, insomnia, constant sneezing, stuffy nose, watery eyes, etc....I've been off of everything for one month, and things got worse before they got better.
Avatar m tn I have been dependent on suboxone for 3 years. I decided to quit "cold turkey." I had made it 45 days, 40 were in withdrawal. During this withdrawal I had been taking a bunch of other meds to help the withdrawal, these were gabapentin, klonopin (I think it makes me depressed), and benadryl. After 45 days (well for 40 if you only want to count the ones spent in withdrawal), I still felt very very depressed, like someone was sticking a crowbar in my emotion "center.
Avatar m tn Seeing my husband go through Sub withdrawal along with reading post from people in the same boat on this forum, I have to guess it's the Suboxone withdrawal causing your depression. I have never seen my husband cry like this in the 25 years I've known him. You have to remember than neurontin also works on your central nervous system, so that right there will also mess your emotions.
Avatar f tn When you taper down and stop using the subs you may have the withdrawal symptoms again (i.e. depression, fatigue, anxiety). I know that's not something to look forward too but I'm on day 10 and finally feel ok. Opioid withdrawal definitely worsened my depression, so you may be experiencing the same. Sorry if that doesn't help!
Avatar n tn What dose of sub did u jump from? I was on sub several months but switched a week ago to oxy hoping that would give me a typical oxy detox and not the hellish wd of sub. All I can say is that it will get better but I know with sub detox sub takes longer to get out of the system. What day are u on now? Hang in there. Subs a great tool but I never used it right. I was prescribed 8 mgs but only took maybe 2 mgs and did oxy on top. Stupid but thats what I did.
Avatar m tn i did opiates for 2 years, and a year of methadone , and a year of suboxone, i tried the short therm suboxone treatment didnt work proll because i was young.
Avatar f tn Can she be given an rx of subutex or suboxone in a very small dose for a period of 6 months to l year to alleviate any leftover withdrawal feelings or help her with her depression (just for a few months)? if so, which is better subutex or suboxone ? She has mild chronic pain also.
Avatar f tn hello, i've been on and off suboxone for about two years...started with oxycontin which lead to smoking heroin and some suboxone use scattered in between. i was never really serious about quitting pills/H until the beginning of this year so i went to a doc and got a prescription for subs. i've been taking them for the last few months and recently decided not to refill my script. so, i tapered down to a nibble a day and was doing that for a couple weeks...
Avatar n tn It is my understanding that you have to only wait a short time w/ subtext, not like with suboxone where you must wait till you are heavy into withdrawal. And the only reason you should wait with subtext is because it can be dangerous to taking it with other narcotics because of respiratory depression and such.
Avatar f tn My priorites are all out of whack, my attitude is a rollercoaster and Im just so tired of feeling this way. Did anyone else have these kind of side effects while on suboxone (depression/memory loss/confusion/etc) ???? Is anyone else working on getting off of suboxone? how has it been?
Avatar m tn OMG! You weren't one any narcotics and given Suboxone for depression? That sounds like blatant malpractice. He had to have known he'd get you hooked -- only certain doctors are allowed to even prescribe Sub, they have to have special training. I believe that's a federal law. Can I ask what state u r from? I was planning on going on sub for opiate wd, but after getting resonses from the great people here, I doubt I will.
Avatar f tn This is my first post, so I just want to say, "Hey, what's up, everyone?! I'm glad to have found this site!" :) I've been up all night due to a little binge (the ingredients: an 8 ball of coke, a couple bags of heroin, and 5 klonopins) and have been reading the posts on here for over 2 hours.
