Avatar m tn I suffer some bi lateral shoulder and upper arm aching late in the day. Most days. (not horrible pain) Some (minor) diminished reflexes in fingers and feet. No bottom jaw reflex. No walking or balance issues at this time. This bulging disc was first noticed on a Cervical MRI in 2009. Has progressed some in a current MRI in Aug. 2014. One surgeon is telling me to operate now. Do a discectomy and fuse and plate C2-C3 from the front.
Avatar f tn I'm a quadriplegic with myelomalacia, post traumatic syrinx, tethered spinal cord, multiple bulging disc C3-T1, 2017 C2 C3 fusion, 2020 syrinx symptoms begin, 2022 C2, C3 and C4 decompressive laminectomy, 2022 shunt placement. The shunt was supposed to help with my symptoms. However, they keep getting worse. Causing nerve pain on my face, lack of feeling. Why is it affecting my face? Why is it still getting worse? Will I ever have a new normal? Every day my body is changing.

Avatar f tn I have been suffering from ACM for just over 20 yrs, but b/c of other health problems, I wasn't healthy enough for the surgery. I was recently told that if I didn't get the surgery now, that it's just a matter of time before I will become a quadriplegic. I have had my herniation grow from 4mm-20mm and I am also suffering from hydrocephalus.I just wanted to see if anyone else has heard that this could become a side effect.

Avatar f tn What tests have the specialists run? For example, have they ruled out thyroid storm? See symptoms: http://www.emedicinehealth.com/thyroid_storm/page3_em.htm See private message for some info re: red and swollen extremities, etc.. Have they checked for neurological disorders (beyond the quadriplegia)? Have they ruled out acid reflux? I notice when I look up neck and back arching when it comes to babies (though I know your child is older), they mention acid reflux.
Avatar m tn Hello and thanks in advance for any input. I'm a 17 yr post C-5 quadriplegic. I'll make this short as I can. I have horrible pain and see pain management. For the last 7 months I've been taking methadone 10mg twice a day with oxycodone 10mg for breakthrough up to 3x daily. My wife was telling me she thought the methadone had been making me not care about life the way I did before being switched from morphine to methadone.
Avatar f tn I have a son that was shot 8 years ago and left him quadriplegic. He is on oxycontin which helps him deal with the pain he has in his limbs. That has increased from 10mg 2 times a day to 50mg 3 times a day and then has 5mg to take for what the Doctor calls break through pain. Well, I take care of all his medications and have tried myself to cut him down gradually with some satisfaction. Now, heres the problem.
Avatar f tn I am a 15 year old girl and for the past 3 years my stomach pain has been really. bad. It all started after I was diagnosed and cured of H-pylori. The pain has slowly gotten worse over the years. It. consists of nausea, reflux, sour stomach, and stomach spasms. It has gotten to the point where I had my gallbladder taken out. My dreams are now normal day activities, I can't go to school everyday, I can barely work and I can't always hang out with my friends.
1149046 tn?1264361586 What he did not tell me is that he will problaby not ever put in a total hip replacement.. Because I do not have pain. Pain is the ONLY reason to do a hip replacement. To be able to walk normally or restore function are not reasons for hip replacement. I have one leg shorter than the other...however I can walk on it with a walker by only putting approx. 40 # of weight on it when I walk. And I cannot go far before it it tires out. About 180 feet.
Avatar n tn however, i wake up and with the first deep breath i take i get a stabbing pain in my gut that really hurts. I had this pain while on HC for awhile, but it got better with a PPI. I am not taking any meds that should be hurting my stomach like this. it gets better after i have gotten up and eaten something, but i can't figure out what is causing it. does this have anything to do with low thyroid or low cortisol?--or am i having another unrelated problem that should be checked out?
