None of these tests showed anything abnormal except for the hida scan, it came back at 9% so they removed his gall bladder. He has had constant nausea, constipation and pain all over his stomach for a few years now. I know it has only been a week since his gall bladder surgery, but is something else going on??? He is vomiting a lot more now then he was before surgery. He is 30 yrs old and otherwise healthy. He does not want to go to the ER right now even though he is in pain and vomiting bile..
Not every time but on the odd occasion when i have my period i have really bad lower back and stomach pain. I will feel sick and need the toilet constantly and it's not until i am sick and green bile comes up that the pain and sickness goes away... >?

After a bowel movement I noticed a strong pain in my stomach which brought on the vomiting. The pain would not stop until everything in my stomach was out, food or bile. The bowel movement were either semi-formed or soft.
Those symptoms occurred only in the mornings within 10-20 minutes of me waking up. Until a week ago when I became nauseous out of the blue in the evening time, which has now become a steady happening. Bowel movements do not always precede the evening sickness however.
Cholecystitis usually presents with extreme discomfort and/or pain, but it very well may not be causing pain. Bile backing up into your liver and getting dispersed through your blood (way oversimplification, but you get the idea) can cause a funky tint to your skin.
Also, if your stomach is not producing intrinsic factor, your body cannot absorb vitamin b. Which in turn can lead to a vitamin deficiency.
Please make sure you are drinking plenty of water.
I have been having upper right abdominal pain for about 1 year now with nausea and vomiting if I eat anything that is greasy or spicy, they did the HIDA scan with CCK which had normal results as far as my gallbladder however they said the radioactive material did not make it all the way thru my liver and the doctor sent me for an abdominal MRI and they just called me and said it was normal .
It's possible that it could be related to her surgery, however, it would be difficult to say that it is without having some testing done. The green colored liquid probably is bile, so it would appear that at least sproadically, she's refluxing bile into her stomach. Bile binding resins might help - the only way to know would be to try it. But if she's experiencing constipation it's going to make the situation worse.
Upper rigt abdominal pain speaks for gallbladder or bile duct disease. If it is gallbladder, pain would be worse after a fatty meal. If it is biliary tree, pain could be more constant. "Biliary dyskinesia" and "sphincter of Oddi dysfunction" can't be detected ba ultrasound or CT. I believe, your first investigation should be HIDA scan, which shows function of gallbladder and bile ducts.
My daughter is 23. She has been having nausea and vomiting, stomach pain, gas, bloating for the past several months. She had a gall bladder function test - works 0%. Alot of acid in the stomach. Tried to do a stomach emptying study, but could not keep the food down for it to happen. Now trying to treat her with Reglan. Thinks she has gastroparesis. Do her gall bladder need to come out? If her stomach starts moving the food, will the gall bladder begin working again?
Commonest cause of chronic nausea or early morning nausea and vomiting is acidity. Take omeprazole (empty stomach in morning) and antacid gel and see if it helps. Liver and kidney dysfunction is another cause. Hence kidney and liver function tests should be done. Other causes are diabetes and hypothyroidism. Electrolyte imbalance too can cause nausea. IBS, gluten or lactose intolerance, parasites in gut too can be the cause. A stool test should be done for worms, giardiasis etc.
Thanks for answering! It varies depending whether I have a full stomach. It is not bile. Usually just dry-heaves if I have an empty stomach. The last upper endoscopy I had was about 7 years ago. Truthfully the only thing I remember from the path report was an overall normal interpretation. Some lining inflammation, but nothing significant. Probably going to insist on another soon since it's been so long.
Bad pain under left breast ( often swelling too) would signal an attack comin. No nausea- just burps with hitchikers - continuing for hours or sometimes weeks.
A new Dr decided to do a HIDA scan- and they figured out her gallbladder was diseased, and had to come out. 2 weeks now wit not ONE episode.
It's okay its bile it's what we throw up if there's nothing in our stomach nothing to worry about everyone throws it at some point x
However, I think taking all the med on a distressed stomach may have injured it more. I now have unbearable stomach pain at night and nausea in the morning. I have been up four hours with the pain. I am tempted to go back on paxil to see if it really is a miracle that could cure my stomach, but am scared to make the pain worse.
I am sorry I have no real advise, jut know that you are not alone.
What other GI problems cause recurrent nausea---have had CT scan , ultrasound and endoscope---all normal except endo did show mild inflammation---HIDA scan showed very low ejection factor---that is why they decided I needed my gallbladder out---never has any right quadrant pain---just pain between shoulder blades and indigestion pain----did you ever take prilosec type drugs after surgery?
it seems whenever i consume too much fat i'm sick for 2-3 days, vomiting,frequent bowel movements,nausea, and unable to keep anything in my stomach. i don't have a fever and i don't experience pain. my doctor scoped my stomach 2 yrs ago and i had an abdominal ultrasound and blood work,all was normal.he than told me to restrict my fat intake. but recently it seems i have NO tolerance for fat, ive had two episodes in the past 5 weeks.

It started about 10yrs ago with a sudden intolerance to alcohol. The morning after having a few drinks I'd feel really sick, anything I ate would just 'sit' in my stomach making me feel nauseous and the only relief came from making myself throw up.
I have very little appetite and when I do eat I am in pain and vomiting. I was admitted on New Years eve for sever pain and vomiting. I was told that they thought I had a bile/fluid build up left over from the surgery. Still did not get better. I was admitted again last week after passing out at the GI doctors office. They did a colonoscopy and the results were normal, I was released and told that I need to stopcoming to the hospital for my pain by the GI dr.
s and the only thing that shows is excessive bile in his stomach and a small hyatel hernia. He had been on protonix for approx 4 years due to barretts esoph. and recently switched over to prevacid 2/day. The last endoscopy did not show barretts esoph. but he vomits sometimes 3 or more times a day. This can go on for days at a time then for some reason he has a day with no vomiting. This has been going on since February.
