I have recently started taking Lantus at night and Humalog before meals. After about a month my stomach pain was unbearable. It began with chills at night, severe dry heaves, (unable to throw up due to reflux surgery) and diahhrea. My doctor said he thought I had a virus. I could not figure out what was going on. I usually gave myself shots in the upper stomach area, so I moved the shots to my legs with no improvement. I even tried Levemir, but after two days the pains came back.
This is usually in conjunction with a wobbly head/dizziness (no pain though) and more recently coupled with severe stomach pain which is really now why I want to get to the bottom of this as she is experiencing quite a deal of pain now with these episodes and is very distressed and upset from the pain. The vomiting and going to the toilet relieves the stomach pain a little but unfortunately not totally. These 'episodes' happen approx every 2months or so and sometimes 2 nights in a row.
Within an hour of vomiting I was on the floor with excrusiating pain in my stomach and still vomiting although it was way more extreme. So extreme that I broke a blood vessel in my eye. This was 3 months ago. Since then I have had constant pain in my stomach and asophagus. I have been to the emergency room 3 times. Prescribed Prevacid, Nexium, and something for nausea as the doc thought it was GERD or severe acid reflux.. Nothing helps. I had a blood test for H.Pylori and it came back negative.
However I did not have severe stomach pain other than what one would associate with vomiting. The low back pain was extreme and as you describe like labor.
There is also esophageal spasms that can cause the extreme epigastric pain (like labor also) and vomiting. Normally one does not have back pain but everyone is different.
The important thing to do in my opinion is see you physician and discuss this with him/her. This can best be diagnosed when it occurs.
while i was in fact vomiting, i got a sudden and severe headache in the back of my head, enough to back me seriously sit back. my first thought was of course "oh know, i've popped something"
i don't want to be over reacting over something brought on only by the vomiting, but then again i can't be too sure.
there seems to be a small pressure still in my head where the headache started. if anyone haves any ideas, i would greatly appriciate it. thank you.
m guessing that maybe the trauma of vomiting may have caused some irritation. Remember, stomach acid when vomiting can irritate the whole tract and throat and can be quite painful. Also, if you are anxious about your situation (and I totally understand why you would be seeings as no one has given a diagnosis) this can also add to the whole difficult to swallow thing. As I've said before insist on tests if symptoms persist.
My son is 10 and has had similar bouts with nighttime vomiting. He has milk and egg allergies that cause vomiting, but he never has anything that he is allergic to that would trigger this. He says his burps taste like "cheerios" and he gets severe stomach pain until he vomits. Once in a while he gets a sharp pain in his chest muscle (maybe growing pains), and a mild headache as well. Then he is fine for the night and the entire next day.
After a bowel movement I noticed a strong pain in my stomach which brought on the vomiting. The pain would not stop until everything in my stomach was out, food or bile. The bowel movement were either semi-formed or soft.
Those symptoms occurred only in the mornings within 10-20 minutes of me waking up. Until a week ago when I became nauseous out of the blue in the evening time, which has now become a steady happening. Bowel movements do not always precede the evening sickness however.
my mother is 85 years old and woke up at 4am today with strong stomach cramps and vomiting (no diarrhea but not constipaed). she has vomited several times today, and had a fever for awhile (which is now gone). she also has a bloated stomach which is painful to the touch and has strong to severe throbbing pain. is about 5'1" and weighs about 90 lbs. had her aortic valve replaced with calf valve about 10 years ago (fyi). i gave her some rehydration powder which she is taking with water.
Yesterday morning after having breakfast ham/eggs in toast I had a dull ache in my stomach, later after a large lunch in a restaurant I started with UNIMAGINABLE abdominal cramping which ended with vomiting street side. The pain was so intense that I was doubled over and trying not to pass out. It took about 10-15 minutes for pain to subside enough for me to get in car and go home. Hi. I have been having severe pain in the lower right side of my back and the lower right side of my stomach. it started about three or four days ago and it just seems to be gettin worse. no matter what i do it hurts. Today i have done really nothing but sleep. and for the past three days the pain has been so bad that it makes me feel sick, i cant even eat. what coukd it be? how can i make it stop?
i am on my 8th day and it helped for a few days but has stopped working. the severe stomach pain continues to evolve into vomiting. i am not eating foods that should trigger problems. my dad suspects an ulcer from h pylori, but the treatment has not helped. i am going to the doctor next week. what should i ask him to look for or check? any help is appreciated.
I am twenty I have had reoccurring stomach pain for the last 5 years and go to the hospital and fall in debt and get sent home undiagnosed here are my symptoms in order
1. It is always very early morning when it starts, like between 3-6am I start to vomit the last thing I ate then after that serving of what ever I ate I throw up this aweful green mucus for a few hours then I start to throw up black liquid vomit (stomach bile)
