Avatar m tn Pepto-Bismol is an over-the-counter drug used for treatment of nausea, heartburn, indigestion, upset stomach, diarrhoea, and other temporary discomforts of the stomach and gastrointestinal tract. Ginger ale is often used as a home remedy to alleviate indigestion or motion sickness. Hence you can take them and once you feel slightly better you can get antacids and anti-emetics form the pharmacy. Hope this helps. The answer is based on information provided.
Avatar m tn Yes, anxiety and depression will contribute, but I also agree with the post above. I deal with anxiety and depression myself, so I know it's only part of the picture. Do ask about this test. One home remedy you can try is making a decoction (a way of making tea from roots and seeds) with ginger root. It is easy to make and inexpensive. It either works for you or it doesn't, but at least it isnt outrageously expensive like the Zofran is.
Avatar f tn yes thats quite normal if your experencing morning sickness, try including fresh ginger in your det as this can help with nausea, so ginger biscuits, tea, gingerale etc, dry crackers and a cup of tea before you get out of bed in the morning can slo help, so can ice, and grated apple, I'm sure you will get plenty more ideas from other ladies as well :)

Avatar f tn Hello every one. I am wondering if anyone has found a remedy for "nervous stomach" my husband and I both have it terribly. Every time we are stressed or anxious or there is change we can hardly eat, we have pain and bloating and cramping and nausea. We are amidst a move out of state right now so stress levels are high, and although my husband can sleep anytime I have difficulty sleeping when I'm stressed (hence writing this at 4 AM).
Avatar n tn Hey doc, thought I would give you a little info I am a 25 years old stay at home mother of 2 and wife for 5 years. We just moved so I have been under a lot of stress lately and in constant discomfort. I have been searching online for months now with no result. Had a doctors appointment to be seen for my issues but couldn't because they didn't accept my form of insurance. It has been a day by day struggle with these symptoms which are for the most part constant.
Avatar f tn It is another home remedy that appears to relax tightened stomach muscles related to nausea after eating. To get relief from nausea after eating, chew a piece of peppermint gum or suck a peppermint flavored candy. Acupressure: Wrist acupressure can prevent and relieve nausea. Just below wrist, the pressure point is present on the underside of arm. Use your middle and index finger to measure two fingers width below where your hand meets your arm.
Avatar f tn It depends somewhat on what is causing your nausea and how severe it is. The promethazine Dee mentions is effective but can also be quite sedating for some people. I couldn't stay awake if my life depended on it when I took that drug. Ginger is very safe and can be very helpful for mild nausea, but didn't even touch my severe nausea. The miracle drug for me was ondansetron, commonly given to chemotherapy patients.
Avatar f tn Yeah the Zofran "study" is total ********. It's only if you're getting the 32mg IV dosage on a regular basis that any problems can occur. Those on 4-8mg pills or IV doses are perfectly fine. You can take up to 32mg per day, just not all at the same time. I'm part of a group of 3000 moms, all of who have been on Zofran, and not one of them has had issues from the Zofran. I'm on it myself, along with Diclegis.

1383964 tn?1279407558 Hello, my name's Craig, I'm eighteen years old and I was diagnosed with Mononucleosis last year in the beginning of November. I fell ill and had to go in for immediate surgery when my throat almost completely shut on me due to severe tonsilitis and a nasty absess growing in my throat which had to be drained. I've made a pretty decent recovery, but there's still something that bugs me.
4753943 tn?1359934569 Lemon Hot lemonade or lemon tea may help relax your stomach and reduce nausea. Lemon juice creates an alkaline-forming state in your stomach, reducing the roiling of excess acid and calms esophageal spasms, according to the book, "Concise Encyclopedia of Foods and Nutrition." Squeeze half a lemon in an 8 to 10 oz. glass of hot water, add some honey and sip for relief.
Avatar m tn Anyways, my only actual physical problem is constant stomach problems. Nausea and diarrhea mostly. I was just wondering what you guys do to calm your stomach down. The problems obviously get worse with panic attacks but even when not panicking my stomach is often messed up. Often if I have to take a long drive I get anxious over my stomach acting up and this seems to worsen if not create the nausea and upset stomach. Any suggestions?
1001742 tn?1252685847 So I still get back pain but the more severe symptoms are the chronic fatigue with insomia and then the stomach pain. Every time I eat something, my stomach feels like theres a brick in it. I tried taking Tums but it doesn't work. Has anyone else dealt with or has been through the same thing?
354373 tn?1299184526 Hi All! So I'm 6 weeks today......For the past 48 hours I've had such a sour stomach....feels like acid is creeping up my esophagus into my mouth....I've tried everything (I think) that I've seen posted on here - TUMS, milk...Is there anything else? Is this even pregnancy related this soon? I've NEVER had this before so I have to assume it is, but it seems silly this early on.....It kept me awake ALL night last night...I felt like I wanted to throw up just to get it out!

Avatar f tn I'm 31 weeks and geez at this heartburn!!. It hurts from my tummy to my ears! I'm popping antacids like crazy and nothing is helping, it's making me sick to my stomach and my stomach has started cramping. Is there any home remedy or wives tale that y'all have tried that works?
Avatar f tn I find that eating small meals and never letting my stomach get empty helps keep the nausea at bay. If I do still get nauseous but I need to eat, I have found fruit to be very helpful, especially grapes. Usually once I get a little fruit down my nausea dissipates and my appetite increases. I also eat as soon as I wake up, usually a cup of applesauce, which keeps me going til I can have a more substantial breakfast.
1815939 tn?1377991799 I am not into Cannabis (though I am not knocking it either). I know it is a really good remedy for nausea and appetite, but I am just not into it. It is not legal in MN anyway, LOL, so I would be out of luck if I did want some. I think I will try to get a prescription for Zofran. I know I need to eat more than just Greek yogurt, eggnog, bread and butter, and a brat here and there. Thanks orphanedhawk and hrsepwrguy for the input.
Avatar f tn Hi I'm a 25 year old female who has had nausea for 2 1/2 years and had my stomach tested, had a laproscopy, as well as been checked for gallstones, acid reflux and had an endoscopy. All in which came up clean. I have nausea at all times of the day food type does not affect how sick I get. The sickness shows up approximately 10 minutes after I eat and will last anywhere from a half hour to two or three hours after eating.
Avatar m tn Been going through a rough patch and never really had to deal with the nausea and stomach pain etc in the 15 + yrs of dealing with anxiety. The fluids definitely helps. I will do what you said about buying things I like. Therapy is great as for the longest time I didn't have it and I got tired of just seeing a psychiatrist and getting meds. I prefer to get to the root of why anxiety at all or at the very least work on triggers of it.The mind can mess with you sometimes that's for sure..
Avatar f tn Hi ladies, I'm also a ftm, almost 8 weeks. I'm experiencing the exact same things as well. I tried the vitamin b6 that didn't work, nor did my nausea get better throughout the day. I finally called my doctor and they put me in Reglan, it's been helping a lot and it doesn't cause constipation!!!
