Common Questions and Answers about Stomach pain after waking up

stomach-pain

Avatar n tn About 3 weeks ago, I started having stomach pain in the middle and upper middle quadrants of my stomach after napping during the day. I thought it was from eating right before napping, so I stopped that, yet it doesn't seem to help. The pain only happens when I nap during the day, never after waking up from sleeping at night. It doesn't always happen right after I wake up either. Yesterday, it started about 6.

974371 tn?1424653129 Every night I wake up feeling clammy then my stomach starts to get upset, this morning was really bad and I took some Pepto. Been under the care of a GI doctor but am getting worse daily. Why does a person wake up feeling sick every day? I am eating light, no appetite, and losing weight.
2078478 tn?1332043733 m having a chiari decompression, lamenectomy, and duraplasty in less than two weeks. I was wondering what your experience was waking up after the surgery. How much pain did you feel, how drugged were you, did you have to wear a neck brace, how did you sleep, how soon did you begin to feel better? I know this is a lot of questions, but hey, i'm sure you had em all too before yours. Thanks so much!
4333769 tn?1360537961 Is it a radiating pain? Or is the pain more localized, in one spot and not increasing with exertion? Chest pain is a fairly general term, so it can be several non-cardiac types of pain, could be from your sternum, ribs, muscles, or even a nerve or nerves, etc. The EKG tells a lot, so if all the tests they ran came back normal then honestly, you are most likely just fine. You can always go back again, but if the test are saying you are okay, then that's the truth. Those tests don't lie.
Avatar f tn He put me on Sucralfate twice a day which helped for about a week but now after waking in the morning the pain begins again and is lasting up to 8 hours with a fever. I am missing massive amounts of work and life in general because of this. I've lost 17 pounds in the past several weeks because I am afraid to eat. It doesn't help that my doctor doesn't seem to concerned about my pain.
Avatar f tn I used to have body aches and pains, like you, I felt so tired after waking. My pain was all over. I was advised to get my Vit D levels checked, and they were very low. After Vit D3 supplementation, (takes time to get to normal you need your blood levels re checked). I felt better. So if you would find that you need Vit D, make sure you also take Magnesium up to 400 mg Required daily allowance, balance it with calcium rich foods like dairy, cereals, etc. A hot tub bath makes my aches go away.
739988 tn?1386672969 I have a terrible time getting up in the mornings. I often sleep until noon or later. When I do get up early, I feel awful. Tired, sleepy, my stomach gets upset.... I have had a sleep study but they couldn't find anything wrong. I know I am in a mild depression right now, but I have had this problem my whole life, even when I am manic! Also, no matter how late I sleep during the day I am ready to go to be at about 9 or 10 pm. Does anyone have any advice?
Avatar n tn Yes! Sometimes I wake up and my stomach feels so empty, like I have not eaten in days! As a matter of fact this morning around 5a it happened again...
Avatar f tn I'm 28 weeks and 1 day and for the past few days I've been waking up in the morning and can barely get up because of a sharp pain in my lower stomach around my belt line. I don't know if it's braxton hick contractions or just sharp pains? I have a OBGYN appointment tomorrow, should I mention it?
Avatar f tn QUOTED (Because this is the first person I have found who describes exactly what I feel, although they did back in 2006) Posted by Jody22976, Mar 19, 2006 12:00AM I have been having the same problem every morning for the last few weeks. I get up in the morning, and the first deep breath I take is followed by a wheezing up the center of my chest (no sound, though). It happens once and that is it. I have been very worried about it.
7758733 tn?1402589420 What are some things to get baby moving? Does jumping up and down or jiggling my stomach disturb him any?
Avatar m tn At first the docs said she was quite constipated, as when examined her stomach was quite hard, she was put on different laxatives (because despite going back to the docs several times she was still experiencing bad stomach pains), often waking at nite. After a few weeks and several laxatives later (lactulose, suppositries, movicol) and stomach remedies ( senna, gaviscon) she is still experiencing pain.
Avatar f tn One morning I woke up and it felt like a balloon had been blown up inside my stomach! Sometimes the pain is in the middle of my abdomen, then other times it is closer to my pelvis and feels more like menstrual cramps... Anyone else experience this? A little background info: I am 21 years old. On birth control (I've never missed a pill and always take it on time, but could it be possible that it's pregnancy, even though I did get my period even after these problems started?
425104 tn?1203633543 i had a friend that took as much oc as me and stopped within 10days.. personally, i stopped cold turkey and it was hell..i had stomach pain, depression (still do), insomnia, cold sweats, gas, digestive issues..it was just hell..and from what i hear (someone could tell me if this is true..) since my tolerance is so high and such, if i was to go back even just once, it could reset myself into withdrawls as if i never stopped?
