Common Questions and Answers about Stomach pain after iud

stomach-pain

Avatar f tn I had an ultrasound today because I am having stomach pain. The technician pressed pretty hard in my pelvic area and I have light bleeding. Could she have maybe disrupted my iud and caused some irritation ? Is it also normal to have a little pain where they did the ultrasound.?
Avatar f tn I had my iud put in feb 09 after I had my son. Just about 5 months ago my period had stopped all together. I started to have lower back pain cramping nausea, breasts grew, weight gain an if I lay on stomach I feel life I am laying on a ball.
Avatar f tn This is just an unfortunate side effect from having the IUD. I had the Mirena IUD and bled heavy for 3 months after insertion, then spotted nearly the rest of the time and had a handful of other extreme issues. I had my IUD removed about 6 months after having it inserted due to the side effects. It's well known that with any long-term birth control that you have a higher chance of spotting versus being on the pill.
Avatar f tn I had my daughter in March and after 6 weeks chose to get an iud. I started having pain from it so I went in last week & found out it wasn't in place. The doctor removed it and gave me birth control pills for after I start my period. He said I wasn't pregnant, based on the ultra sound which showed the iud in the wrong spot. Well I still haven't started my period, it's late. I took a test a few days ago and it was negative but still no period. I feel off & just different.
Avatar n tn But as soon as the IUD was removed I felt absolutely no pain! From March through October I had pain every month, and since November I have not felt a twitch in that area. I am not ready to say that the IUD caused the Crohn's but I can confidently say that it irritated the region and caused pain. It's possible that it is causing an all-out flare with you, since you have been experiencing pain for 3 weeks. I am sorry you are feeling badly.
Avatar f tn Can someone help me? This never happened to me I keep myself clean 24/7 but even after I take a shower maybe 2-3 hours after the smell is back.
Avatar f tn I had my IUD in for just shy of 2 years and started experiencing horrible pain. After finally getting an ultrasound, I found the IUD was wider than my uterus and that's why I was experiencing all the pain and had it removed on 1/6/14. However, I'm finding a lot of women are experiencing the Mirena IUD "Crash". I started spotting about 2 days later and that lasted about 4 days.
Avatar f tn So, I am feeling pain in my right leg about 10 minutes after I got the IUD, The cramping is BAD and i cant sleep like this. The pain in my leg is an ache that starts at my hit socket and goes all the way down to my knee and its making my leg feel numb.

Avatar f tn I had an ultra sound on Wednesday and had surgery Friday to remove the IUD and the doctor said everything went well. I still have some pain, which is to be expected and some light bleeding but the pain is not nearly as intense or persistent as before. I started to get my rash back about a week and a half before removal, so it couldn't have come at a better time. I'm curious to see if my symptons disappear. I'll keep you posted!

Avatar f tn I had the IUD place wednesday September 27, since having it placed iv had nothing but GOOD experiences!! i'm very pleased that i decided to go with this birth control, the only problem i've expericed is drinking carbonated drink. Every time i drink a coke, mellow yellow or even a sprite i get a sharpe pain in my stomach and down my left leg, i've taken my self off of carbonated stuff but i'm just wondering why this would effect me now.
Avatar n tn After 6 months with mirena's IUD, wich left me with a big left ovarian cyst, I decided to get pregnant. My question is... I got mirena's iud removed on 01/16/08 (got my period the following day until 01/21/08)and I had unprotected sex with my husband on 01/29/08, is there a chance for me to be pregnant? and if so, can the hormones harm my baby?
Avatar f tn I have endometriosis and pelvic congestive syndrome and had a Mirena IUD placed in the beginning of last month (about 5 weeks ago). After the initial pain after insertion, I hadn't had many complaints. This past weekend, my husband and I went tod a popular Halloween destination and he convinced me (it really did take convincing as I'm a terrible chicken) to go through a couple of haunted houses. After the second haunted house, I realized how tense all of my muscles were.
1749037 tn?1311744200 I recently had an iud removed after only having it for one month due to terrible side effects...but I had unprotected sex four days after removal...and now which is nine days after sex I have developed symptoms like very tender breasts and nipples..leaking breasts ...and then today woke up nauseous..with a tender..bloated..crampy stomach...I'm not about to start my period and never get symptoms like that anyway...so my question is ...is this all side effects or more possibly pregnant?
789820 tn?1315448513 well, no responses, kind of figured. this is a slow forum. It's now January 11 and still no period. I am still cramping and have decided to go off the amount of days since I last had sex, which would be 26 days . I still have zero pregnancy symptoms and have decided that I'll just go get another pg test and see what it says. I'm really stressed out about this and all anyone can tell me is to get an ultrasound and blood test.
Avatar n tn My question is does cysts cause back pain and with a bulging in the stomach above the belly button? My side hurts at times too is this part of the cyst too? I have been able to lose some weight but I keep the bulging big stomach above my belly button making me look pregnant and I am not.
Avatar f tn All of the information I can find on periods after IUD removal tell of missed periods or heavy periods etc and mainly concentrate around people who have had their IUD removed in order to get pregnant, which is not the case with me. I am wondering if all this 'normalcy' is normal ?
Avatar f tn I had an IUD removed on 4/14/12 i spotted the first day after removal then on 4/17/12 i started bleeding heavy i believed it was my period since i was supposed to start it went away around 4/25/12. i had unprotected sex on 4/27/12 i am waiting for my next cycle i believe now am like 6 days late i have been feeling nausea that doesn't go away, bloated, stomach pain, headache and tender breast also notice some white/yellowish discharge can i be pregnant?
Avatar f tn I had previously gone to the gynocologists and had the normal tests done and everything came back negative, and I was told that everything looks normal. After the IUD was put in, I did experience an increase in cramps and a heavier blood flow during my menstral cycle. It's been about 2-3 months since my IUD was inserted and I've been noticing some issues.
Avatar f tn I had an IUD placed in Feb of this year after having my daughter, which fell out about a month later. So In April I had another placed. I ended up bleeding for quite a while with sometimes only one or two days between. My cycle is still off and I never know when it comes or will end for that matter. Two or three weeks ago I got a SEVER pain in my left ovaries that had me bent over. It only lasted a few seconds...Well recently for about a week now, I have been having pregnant like symptoms.
Avatar f tn s are not 100%, but I havent gotten pregnant and have had ample sex with my spouse with it in for 5 years(implanted by Dr.) But my stomach is fluttering and Twitching and it has me very concerned. Can it do this and not be pregnant?
Avatar f tn I got my IUD back in 2006 after my 2nd child. I haven't been to the OBGYN since the checkup of the iud ( i know its bad) but anyways, also, on top of this. I don't have a reg. period which is normal, but it a light one with come once ever 6 months or longer. Well, I have had the flutters.. which I have heard that is normal every once in a while. But tonight while sitting still, i felt like something was moving in my stomach. I don't have any symptoms like I did with my first 2 preg.
1058934 tn?1254365457 i took a pregnancy test and it said NO i was told it was VERY hard to get pregnant with iud but after reading this it seems not.....i also heard if u dnt get a checkup every six months they wont be able to take it out bc it will be part of your body!!!
Avatar f tn 4/25/12 I had my IUD put in and I was ok for ten months. No bleeding at all, no pain, nothing. But after ten months I had extremely bad pain in my pelvic area, almost as bad as labor pain. The next day I began to bleed heavily and that lasted three weeks straight. When I finally stopped my husband and I had intercourse and I had pain in my lower back which sometimes moved to the front where my ovaries would be. The next day I began to bleed again and that lasted for three days or so.
724384 tn?1230916949 The ultrasound may be able to locate where the IUD is. I definitely do not worry about cancer based on pain and IUD use at your age. Most ovarian cysts are related to ovulation. An IUD will not stop ovulation, it just reduces the ability of your uterine lining from holding a pregnancy.
