Common Questions and Answers about Stomach pain after gastroscopy

Avatar f tn The stomach pain comes right after eating and sometimes it goes away but sometimes it stays for the whole day and beyond. There are also times when I feel like the food I have eaten is till somewhere in my throat. It is a pain, though, which does not render me unable to move or do anything, but is making me wake up in the middle of the night, either of the pain or worry. I am due to have a gastroscopy in a couple of weeks time. S Is this a syptom of something really serious?
Avatar f tn Hi... Yes, it could be a hernia, or it could be something else, as well. Have you had any surgeries that might have left scars near/at the navel? If so, it's possible there could be an incisional, also known as ventral, hernia. You could also have a lipoma, a benign fatty tumor, which is quite common. Rarely, one might get a cancerous tumor, called a Liposarcoma. Yes, these can "usually" be diagnosed via ultrasound or CT scan...
Avatar n tn I have suffered from these stomach pains for a very long time. The pain varies from day to day. However, the pain in my upper abdomen gets worse after eating a meal, this is when I get the deep, sharp pains. Also, when the pain is really bad i have noticed that when I have placed my hand on my stomach I can feel it throbbing and pumping really fast inside. can you relate to this.
746512 tn?1388807580 I now have to do a gastroscopy to figure out for sure my stomach issues. I have the option of doing it with or without sedation. I was wondering if anyone has any stories or opinions for which is better.
Avatar n tn The anemia (low red blood cell count) is concerning and the source of bleeding must be found, which should be apparent soon from the EGD esophageal-gastro-duodenoscopy (fiberoptic scope). A common place to bleed from is from a stomach ulcer, and herniation of the stomach into the chest cavity can increase the irritation of the top part that slips up into the chest. That part, the antrum, is where acid is produced in the stomach.
526146 tn?1287442248 For approximately a month I have had excruciating stomach pain. I had a baby 5 months ago and had terrible heartburn for the last 2 months of pregnancy and I wondered if it was that that was re-surfacing. I have also had a LOT of stress in the last year and through my pregnancy. However, it got to the point where I was in so much pain I felt winded. I have pain up towards my lungs and in my stomach. It stops me eating etc.
Avatar f tn I have now for more than a month been suffering with a sore throat, swollen glands, constant pain in the top of my stomach, feeling of food getting caught In throat/chest, nausea, back pain and fatigue! Anyone had similar or can advise??
Avatar n tn For 6 months now, I have had gnawing pain in my stomach. This started right after I overdid the ibuprofen that I took for a bad neck injury. AFter about two weeks straight of taking 10 a day, I developed this pain. I originally thought it was an ulcer, but gi tests, cat scans, hpylori tests etc., all are showing normal. The pain continues intermittently, and I can't drink wine anymore. I find that wine irritates my stomach and causes me great discomfort. Any thoughts???

Avatar f tn I struggle to eat and keep medication down, and the sickness has seemed to worsen over time. As has the pain. After multiple tests at hospital the diagnosis has been as follows. *Ultrasound February 2021 showing singular gallbladder polyp. *Ultrasound July 2021 showing multiple gallbladder polyps and thickened wall. Gastroscopy July 2021 showing severe ulceration of oesophagus above a 2cm sliding hiatal hernia. Also blood tests showed raised bilirubin levels.
Avatar m tn For the last six months I have been having this burning, crampy pain in my stomach. It makes me feel like I want to vomit and belch. But mostly, it is a real bad burning pain. This all started after I was exposed to my mother in law who has H.Pylori. Then, I started having a couple of drinks two nights a week ( either a couple of beers or a couple of Strawberry daiquiris). My stomach has always been very weak and bothersome to me anyhow.

Avatar f tn For the past month ive had stomach bloating mostly after eating. However it doesnt make me feel full, it just feel like my stomach is stretched. Occasionally i feel ever so slightly nauseous but this passes quickly if i eat. Also on days that i havnt felt bloated my stomach has felt tense and im unable to relax it like im holding it in but I litterally arent!! I eat a balanced diet, i dont smoke but i do like a drink. It doesnt seem to be affected by what i eat or dont eat.
Avatar f tn A few months ago, I went in for what I was told was the stomach flu (no diarrhea or vomiting, just nausea and lots of stomach pain). Afterwards I started getting a lot of heartburn in the upper center of my chest and also on the left side under my ribs, up to my under arm, and around to my back (like an upside-down T). I was also having a bit of stomach pain, but my main concern was that I was feeling dizzy and lightheaded a lot..
Avatar m tn Alright, so ever since I can remember, i've been getting stomach pains, sometime being so bad i'm doubled over in pain, gritting my teeth. I have diarrhea sometimes, but also constipation other times. I have an extremely hard time gaining weight, and my appetite has been getting lower and lower as time goes by. When I go into work, almost every time, someone tells me I look like crap. Im a 22 year old guy, but I weigh about 114 lbs. I sometimes feel nauseous after eating small things.
Avatar m tn NORMAL DOES THIS MEANS THERE NO IMFLAMMTION OR DAMAGE? STOMACH. MILD DIFFUSE GASTRITIS DUODENUM.
Avatar f tn During the two days I have had sometimes, especially after the meals, some upper abdominal pain. I had no such pain before the gastroscopy. Is it normal and how long can it last? The doctor did not mention such a side effect. The doctor took two samples from the gastric mucosa. Can I get long lasting gastric ulcers at the sampling sites? I had somewhat atrophic gastric mucosa. The doctor said that it is due to my age 68 years.
Avatar f tn I have had stomach pain for the past 3 months and I have tried everything to ease it up. I was on pain meds for 4 years and I am 92 days clean, but the pain is so bad that it hurts to have anything in my stomach including water of all things. I do not have a doctor because I am afraid that they will put me back on a bunch of meds that will only cost a bundle and do nothing for me . does anyone have any advise for me. thank you and god bless you all.
Avatar n tn Since 2007 I've been experiencing chronic pain in my upper abdomen. It lasts for a few weeks at a time and is non-stop. Throughout the day and night it goes from being a dull, hungry feeling to an intense stabbing feeling, where I can barely stand or breathe. The only thing that seems to help is if I lay on my stomach, put heat on it, or have myself or someone else press on it fairly hard. I've had numerous tests including xrays, ultrasounds, gastroscopy, barium swallow, ct scan, etc.
Avatar f tn I am a 21 year old female, I have been suffering from ongoing, constant, nausea, vomiting and stomach pain. Vomiting is daily, and occurs shortly after eating food. It will sometimes be very acidy but I will still throw up even if my stomach is not acidy. Getting up and moving around seems to make the nausea worse. The pain I have is mostly in the upper middle of my abdomen between my belly button and ribs. It is campy feeling and more painful if pushed.
Avatar f tn Unlike most people who say to experience similar symptoms, it seems to happen after 2+ drinks and takes about 2 hours to start taking effect. After many agonising nights, I have discovered the only substance I can take to stop the pain is numerous painkillers. I have been prescribed omeprazole in the past which hasn't helped and have been referred to a specialist and have had a gastroscopy which came back perfectly normal.
Avatar n tn It still takes a while after eating though for the pain to go. Sometimes the pain starts with some slight heartburn before it hurts in my stomach. I wouldn't say its a burning pain. More of a cramping pain. Not that I have been stabbed before but I would say it feels like someone is driving a BBQ skewer or a knife into me.
Avatar m tn i get my report but cann't understand it, reads:oesophagus: barrett's mucosa and barrett's at 28cm with tongue, stomach normal
Avatar f tn Then I went through a gastroscopy and a colonoscopy and the gastroscopy showed that I had Gastritis and Esophagitis. I got dispatched from the hospital and my doctor basically said "You're fine, there is nothing wrong with you". About a month and a half after that I had brutal constipation to the point at which I couldn't relieve myself unless I took a laxative, but I read that it was normal after a colonoscopy.
Avatar m tn Hello. I have problems with stomach over 4-5 months, I always feel uncomfortable pain (not too strong but distracting), sometimes feel better when I eat something, sometimes I get acid reflux. I was at doctors and did blood test, ultrasound of abdomen, everything fine. No vomiting, but I dont go regularly on toilet, sometimes 2-3 days break, once I had a 6-7 days break.
Avatar m tn There are many things that cause stomach issues. Worrying will cause the stomach to produce more acid and cause more nausea. Have you ever had acid indigestion problems? Did your endo offer any evidence of even a small hiatal hernia? You may have to ask the Dr specifically. They can cause nassea and discomfort after even a small meal. Good luck with your test.
