The stomach flu is not the flu. The stomach flu is usually caused by the norovirus which is going around as a superbug right now. The flu shot had nothing to do with it.

Hello, can't really find a group for this topic on MH. Thought this was the best bet. I've been getting alot of bad stomach pain lately. I've also had the flu. Can the flu actually cause this stomach pain? It feels like the after effects of getting punched in the stomach. Don't like it. Someone told me it's due to all the drainage, post nasal drip. Def. getting alot of body aches too. Had recent bloodwork and it all came back normal. Doc put me on azythromyicin antibiotics.

i have never had shoulder problems ever in my life till after i recieved the flu/h1n1 vacvine on sept 21, 2011, my mri was taken after 5 weeks after flu shot. your answer suggests to me that i have an overuse issue and not from the shot? do i misunderstand?

The flu shot is for respiratory flu, not for the stomach flu. A girl I knew got the flu toward the end of her pregnancy and it turned into pneumonia and she had to have an emergency c section at like 30 weeks and she ended up passing away from it never having been able to hold her baby because they had to put her in a medical induced coma. That being said, I have gotten a flu shot with every pregnancy and every year to protect my little ones with weak immune systems.

You can't catch the flu from getting the flu shot. That's not how it works.

I had some symptoms before flu shot but after the shot my life changed. The sticki pain is nerve pain. And he needs an emg/ ncv test done. Google it.

I wish I would have had an MRI a few weeks after the shot when the pain was extremely sharp so I could have compared, but trying to get someone to take you serious that you're still in pain from a flu shot can be a tough task. It's been five months now and I've noticed my shoulder pops and didn't use to and it still gets sore. The pain seems to come and go, but feels as though it's from the head the bone, it's a deep pain.

I never had one nor did my mother when she was pregnant with me. I got sick once, but it was with the nasty stomach virus, which the flu shot wouldnt have prevented. Just rest and stay hydrated. Take your vitamins and keep clean : ) Hope you feel better!

A flu shot would not cause those symptoms. It may cause a low grade fever and minor body aches, but definitely not vomiting or diarrhea. There are stomach bugs going around. If you are not feeling better soon you should probably call your dr.

Well you cannot get the flu from the flu shot itself because they give you a dead flu but it is possible to still get the flu after you've gotten the shot. It will not be nearly as bad as if you didn't get the shot. If you think you are having flu symptoms, call your doctor or get checked out because it can still be serious even after the flu shot and they need to treat it.

The flu shot isn't as strong this year. We found that out after we got ours.

I had my flue shot 4 weeks ago and didn't even get a sneeze. No pain or fever either.

Ladies if your going to get your flu shot as most dr.s recommend for pregnant women get it now! It is not too soon. If you live in the US most Cvs pharmacies are offering them. Get it before the kiddies bring home bugs from school!

ve been hurting a lot more the last week with lower back pain, pelvic pain, sometimes sharp shooting pain down the cervix/birth canal. It is getting harder for me to move faster these days. Plus I'm afraid if the shot is safe or not. Any thoughts?

In October 2011, I had my first Flu Shot. Since that time I've experienced arm pain that is so intense I get physically sick to my stomach. I've seen the doctor 3 times regarding this situation explaining that I can't raise my arm upwards, can't move it backwards and can not reach across my chest. Any sudden movement creates intense pain. I've been ask repeatedly if I insured my arm.

I thought that i was getting better after a couple of days, but soon was awakened with a stomach flu in the middle of the night, I'm not throwing up anymore, but still have diarrhea and a very consistent pain in my abdomen, which I'm pretty sure is gas. Although i haven't been able to walk upright for long amounts of time without the pain becoming overwhelming its almost by my belly button but isn't stuck in one spot. Any help is appreciated.

I too had a lot of pain after the flu shot. Two days after the shot my shoulder started popping. It NEVER did this before... It ha been a few months and I have no pain, but my shoulder pops every day. I can't help but think the two are related!

Shouldn't the flu shot be given pretty painless in the shoulder and only stay sore a couple of days? Will I ever get the use of my wrist and fingers back?

You describe the exact symptoms I have starting right after a flu shot in my left arm. I had a massage which helped tremendously, however, the pain is back with a vengeance. It comes and goes with no apparent reason. I thought I was nuts to think it was the flu shot as I am a nurse and get them every year whether I want to or not. Today is unbearable and NSAIDs don't help much. It is horrible pain and I hope it goes away soon. I am no cry baby but it never stops and it wears you down.

I had three shots nov 1 it was a flu shot MMR shot and a TB skin test all in the same arm. Next day I felt sore under my arm and it was swollen. Why does it do that I’m scared cause I had all my shots in my right arm and that’s the arm that’s swollen and tender.
