Avatar n tn I thought that i was getting better after a couple of days, but soon was awakened with a stomach flu in the middle of the night, I'm not throwing up anymore, but still have diarrhea and a very consistent pain in my abdomen, which I'm pretty sure is gas. Although i haven't been able to walk upright for long amounts of time without the pain becoming overwhelming its almost by my belly button but isn't stuck in one spot. Any help is appreciated.

Avatar n tn you probably may have the stomach flu but you should check with your doctor first before doin anything.
Avatar m tn Yes, this flare up can and does happen after the flu or any kind of illness or any surgery as many times the meds we use can also be a trigger. In addition to the meds you are taking for reflux you should modify your diet and lifestyle....meaning to avoid acidic greasy, spicy foods as well as alcoholic and carbonated bevs.....smoking....and stress.
Avatar n tn Peptic ulcer disease causes upper left quadrant pain that usually begins 2 hours after a meal. It gets better with over the counter antacids. Stomach flu can cause indigestion and abdominal discomfort. Viral gastroenteritis can lead to nausea, abdominal pain and diarrhea. The exact location of pain and other details will help in determining the accurate cause .Take light meals. Avoid spicy fried foods. If the symptoms are severe consult a gastroenterologist. Best of luck and regards!
665587 tn?1265946924 I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this or not, but here goes. My husband is laying in bed with severe stomach pain and refuses to go to ER...he says "it's the stomach flu...eveyone has it" My concern is this...he had this for 1 day in November, another on Christmas day that lasted 30 hours, and again today....it woke him up at about 1 am and been hurting since. Now he says it's getting better. The only other symptoms are chills...no nasea, no diarrahea, no fever..

Avatar n tn 2 weeks ago I had a stomach flu. Since then I feel nauseous all the time, burping before and especially after meals; when burp I feel acid in my mouth, feeling of tightness in a upper stomach, no pain. I also feel like something is turning around in the esophagus but it doesn't feel like the heartburn would feel after a fatty meal. Please help!
Avatar n tn My 8 year old daughter has stomach pain when she eats, which causes her to eat very little then 1-2 hours after she will have diarrhea. Sometimes she has diarrhea and stomach pain without eating anything.

2085202 tn?1373199740 Hello, can't really find a group for this topic on MH. Thought this was the best bet. I've been getting alot of bad stomach pain lately. I've also had the flu. Can the flu actually cause this stomach pain? It feels like the after effects of getting punched in the stomach. Don't like it. Someone told me it's due to all the drainage, post nasal drip. Def. getting alot of body aches too. Had recent bloodwork and it all came back normal. Doc put me on azythromyicin antibiotics.
Avatar m tn I have a stomach pain and every time I eat I vomit. I am 172 cm and 72 kg. The pain is mostly in the uper part of my stomach. I am also burpling a lot. Could you tell what this could be and is it serious.
Avatar f tn The stomach flu is not the flu. The stomach flu is usually caused by the norovirus which is going around as a superbug right now. The flu shot had nothing to do with it.
1844410 tn?1322749080 On the other hand, I guess I never knew any pregnant ladies with the flu either. I will probably call the doc tomorrow to ask, but anyone have any insight?
Avatar f tn About two weeks ago I came down with a nasty stomach bug (possibly the flu) that I got passed down from my two kids. (Thanks daycare!) About a week after it hit I started getting weird urinary symptoms--constant leakage, trouble emptying bladder, fatigue, and pain at end of my penis. Saw urologist this past Friday and he said my prostate was swollen. All other urine tests, cat scan came up normal. Prescribed me cipro and flomax.
Avatar m tn Yep stomach pain totally normal. That and the RLS are the worst w/d symptoms I think. Try eating small amounts of crackers and banana (I know it's really REALLY hard) But if you can do it. Do it. Also, drink some peppermint tea in little sips. Cold fluid is harder on the tummy. You will get through this. It's total hell for at least 72 hours but it gets better. You can do this. Sending Support...
Avatar m tn I'm a 43 year old male. For the last 3 months I've been getting stomach aches, headaches, light headedness, nausea, sudden tiredness and bad wind. Toilet wise everything is normal. I'm very fit for my age (cycle over 10 miles a day to work and play football once a week), plus I eat mostly healthy food. I hardly ever get ill yet recently I've also had 2 ear infections and had 2 bouts of flu.
Avatar n tn I had the stomach flu or what I thought was to be the stomach flu a few days back and now I'm extremely bloated, get nasty tasting burps, body feels like it's full of gas, and the pain of bloating gets worse when I eat. Is this something I should look out for or just let it pass through my system?
Avatar f tn It is natural to lose your appetite after having the flu. You might want to try the BRAT diet for a little while until your stomach feels recuperated. Bananas, rice, apples and toast. I hope you feel better soon.
