stomach-pain

Avatar n tn This seems to be strongest right after chemo and ther feeling goes away after about 1 1/12 weeks. Is this a sign that the stomach is filling with fluid and that she is getting worst? Her doctors says there is nothing there thanks!
Avatar f tn but my father feels pain in his stomach(maybe the part that his esophagus and intestine are joined) and he feels really full. he even avoids to drink because of the pain.has anybody had the same experience?
Avatar f tn as of may 2009 the numbers look good. but i have been experincing some stomach pain lately and fatique. especially right after I eat about a hr later. should I worry. Haven't really felt quiet right since last chemo in sept2008. I have also experinced lots of anemia two blood transfusions, in july and aug 2008. last one in dec2008.
Avatar n tn Cancer came back on the outside wall of stomach. Went away after chemo in 07. I am seeing a specialist next week at MD Anderson for assessment and recommendation.
Avatar f tn Hi My Mom is 64 and just had a total gastrectomy and part of her esophagus removed along with her gallbladder, and 17 lymph nodes. She had stage 3 stomach cancer. She was in the hospital for a month. They had taken out some micro cells in her esophagus that tested positive for cancer so she will be starting Chemo and Radiation treatments. She is to start chemo on Monday, Sept.
Avatar n tn Carboplatin) and she is currently on Avastin. Her last report after chemo was a complete response and she is in remission. My question is - How long after chemo should it take for her to begin feeling like herself again? She has been finished with chemo for 6 weeks and is still feeling weak and sometimes she still has tummy problems. She gets weak spells that come and go and completely wash her out.
Avatar m tn You will be basically doing chemo treatment without the radiation. But after 48 weeks of hell, I am non detectable. Upper right quad pain continues. 10 mg of oxycodone helps, and bear in mind I had this for over 20 years before I found out. You can do it. Drink gallons of fluid to keep the toxics flushed out. DO NOT WAIT for treatment, and there is help out there because its expensive.
612551 tn?1450022175 He said no problem taking Aleve (or similar) for pain when on Chemo. Of course you stomach may not like this harsh a medication - taking with food is the best practice.
438514 tn?1305734140 Hi there, I have stage 4 Ovarian cancer and during chemo my stomach giot very bloated and I did have slight abdominal pain.
Avatar n tn Thank you so much for your answer. After only two days of Flagyl and Nexium, my stomach seems fine. I'm still afraid to eat, but the 4 lbs I've lost aren't missed so that's not a problem. Regards.
498596 tn?1210700259 I am about 6 months since I finished chemo. I still have stomach / bowel problems. I also still have the bone pain and numb feeet and fingers. I am happy your mom had no sign of cancer at her 2nd surgery. I pray she continues to heal and stays well for many years to come.
800154 tn?1237894629 I'd like to see her get the pain managed. She could be getting more discouraged and feel unable to fight due to the pain. I had a similar situation after my last chemo. The pain was so bad I felt like throwing my hands up and saying "I give up!!". Fortunately I got the help I needed for the stomach pain on the chemo expert forum and I am back ready to battle. Is she on anything for pain? If not I'd have her ask for something right away.
408448 tn?1286883821 I had cisplatin and taxol I/V and I/P and completed all 18 treatments. After chemo the small spots in my diaphragm still remained. My onc considered me stable. In January a recurrence was found coming through the rectal colon wall during a colonoscopy. Another tumor was found behind my liver, posssibly coming down from the diaphragm. Because my cancer is mucinous and the primary site was not 100% determined, they sent my slides to U of Chicago.
550018 tn?1264190965 I am 7 months out from surgery(removed right ovary, appendix etc) and 1 month out from chemo. For the past 3 months I have been having dull aching pain in my right side under my ribcage. It hurts to lay on that side at night or when I bend over to pick things up. I've had an xray and it came back clean. My doctor seems to believe it may be scar tissue or muscle pain and not anything "cancer related". Waiting 1 more month before next pet/ct scan. Anyone ever had this?
Avatar f tn Recent pet scan shows some changes in the right lung but Dr does not think its Ca. He called four days later to say he does see some uptake in the stomach & rectum and to follow up with PC. I've been complaining about severe stomach & back spasms for over a year now. the oncologist @ Daner Farber and my PC said could be from chemo. They never checked it out.
Avatar n tn Hi! I'm so sorry you are going through this. After all you've been through, you'd sure like to catch a break, wouldn't you? Have you had a lengthy discussion with your oncologist? That should be your first place to check things out. Let him/her know the impact that the pain and weight gain is having on your life. Ask if there are other options. See your internal medicine physician and have a complete physical, including going over your meds and supplements.
Avatar n tn t have diarhea with it--though the first attack followed an upset stomach. She saw a GP after the first attack who thought it might be her gallbladder. He did a CBC and found she was a little anemic. She's a vegetarian so she stated taking an iron supplement. After the second or third attack she went back to the doctor, had an ultrasound (found nothing) and a HIDA scan (showed a 27% emptying rate).
Avatar f tn taken 1 hour before chemo and 24 hours and 48 hours after.. Also see if you can get Aloxi or onicit in your IV. You need to be your own advocate... Eat only what appeals to you which with nausea usually is only high carb foods.. nibble on saltine crackers and 7 up... Eat small amounts but do try to keep food in your stomach at all times... Best wishes...
Avatar n tn So now she is off everything and feels much better though some days she has bad pain in her bones and stomach too. But stomach pain might not necessarily be related to cancer because she has diverticulitus. I wish you the best whatever you decide.
1320130 tn?1296053588 What kind of chemo did you receive? I am thinking it might be a combination of the chemo and some OA (Osteoarthritis).
Avatar f tn I have a very active lifestyle, however for the past few months every time I eat I feel like it just stops at my stomach. I feel bouts of nausea and have pain in my upper left quadrant of my abdomen and in my lower left quadrant of my abdomen. I do not have my gallbladder and I have had a complete hysterectomy. I have regular bowel movements two or three times a day. My question - what could it be? My colon cancer was stage I and received no chemo or radiation.
