Slim fast and high blood pressure

Common Questions and Answers about Slim fast and high blood pressure

slim-fast

Avatar f tn I tried Slim Fast quite some time ago and did not find that it kept me full enough or satisfied enough to continue. My choice was to journal my food intake and hold myself accountable for the food I was ingesting. I monitored calories, although there are many plans that work using other measures (points and carbs). In journaling, I learned proper portion sizes, their nutritional content and studied my emotions. Those things, plus moderate exercise and positive self-talk, led to my success.
Avatar f tn I would not recommend drinking Slim Fast. I love Slim Fast. I have a tub in my desk right now because I used to use it as quick meal replacement when things got busy at work. I haven't touched it since I got pregnant. Too many chemicals in the ingredient list. And it contains aspartame, an artificial sweetner which isn't good for you especially if you're pregnant.
Avatar n tn blacking out because you're getting up too quickly is usually a sign of hypotension, not hypertension. it might not be either. make sure you're drinking enough water. it simply could be a case of dehydration.

Avatar f tn But Herb Pharm makes an excellent combination tincture for high blood pressure. Hawthorn is the main herb for this, and it can also help with anxiety, but combinations work better. And the person who recommended meditation and yoga is absolutely spot on, they have been proven to work with some people, as has exercise and dietary changes.

Should I go back to the doctors for more BP tests say once every 2 weeks? or is it one of those things that come and go.. If the doc does eventually put me on meds what should I know?
Avatar n tn finaly i went to a cardiologist just not to long ago and he told me that he didnt think i needed medication, My heart looked normal and my bloodflow was good. I just have high blood pressure and he said bluntly that it can be caused by a rough life or lifestyle, diet anxiety things like that. I dont know if what i had was panic attacks but i had no history. Stress can cause you body to flip out in all sort of ways. Even so you should see a doc just to make sure your all good.
Avatar f tn I had high blood pressure with my first pregnancy and haven't had a problem with my second. This is what im doing..... im taking flaxseed oil 1 Tablespoon once a day. I take a shot of cayenne oil and chase it with chocolate once a day. I buy it from my local health food store and follow the instructions on the bottle. I get my heart rate up once a day by fast walking for half an hour and ive noticed the worst food for me is Potatoe chips.
Avatar f tn Particularly if you were in pain, the stress of the situation could cause a mild spike in your blood pressure. And the elevated blood pressure would only be significant if it were to recur and become chronic.
Avatar m tn One last thing is exercising. Walking has been proved to control the level of cholesterol, blood pressure, blood sugar and even improve asthma. A 30 minutes walk daily should keep you healthy and highly spirited.
11909894 tn?1424448742 Every other prenatal appointment I have been to, I have had high blood pressure. I dont have a regular doctor but I have midwives. Every appointment I have had a different midwife as to meet all of them before delivery to become familiar. Avatar f tn The blood pressure and pulse rate are both slightly high. What it means depends on the circumstances. I wouldn't think anything of it unless there is a persistent pattern of high blood pressure and/or fast pulse rate while you are calm and you have been sitting still for at least a few minutes. If it was a one-time thing, and especially if you happened to be excited or upset at the time, then it's no big deal.
Avatar f tn You systolic (top number) is alittle high your diastolic is low. And heart is fast for resting. Perfect BP is considered 115/75 and normal range for heart rate in an adult is 60-100 bpm.
Avatar f tn Are you taking blood pressure medication for your high blood pressure? If the blood pressure stays high for years, it can wear out the heart muscle. The pulse is not as much as a concern as the pressure is. If you have not already done so, you should ask your doctor about a stress test to find out how your heart is working while you exercise. When you cannot talk is when your heart is beating to fast. If the blood pressure is high, this could be a symptom of heart problems.
646105 tn?1223653476 I am tracking my own blood pressure three times a day and I watch my blood pressure spike about 2-3 hours after taking the Synthroid and go to normal/low by late in the day. I am going off it slowly because going off it too quickly can cause some serious issues with your heart.
Avatar m tn Some people running will have very high blood pressure and a high heart rate. Some will have normal blood pressure and high heart rate. Some will have normal heart rate and lower blood pressure. Our bodies are not all the same and a lot of it has to do with fitness. If I do star jumps, it takes around 30 seconds for my heart to reach 100bpm. It takes my 15 year old sons 5 seconds. After 5 mins, my heart is at 140. My sons is at 100 after 15 mins.
Avatar n tn I had a TT in december and i just posted on board yesterday pertaining to "fast" heartrate and high blood pressure. I have been on bp med's for about 4-5 years now and my pressure fluctuate's min by min....I was relaxing yesterday and stood up to walk to another room and i felt my heart beating extremely fast and i felt my pulse...(it was faster than a baby's heart beat) and of course i got nervous because it was out of the blue.
Avatar n tn Mine still around 100/60 so far, but I also drink a lot of water and have a fairly high sodium diet to begin with due to having the issue before pregnancy. Most of what I've heard always revolved around high blood pressure. Thanks--it's nice to know I'm not the only one.
Avatar n tn Last Thursday on the 8th of January I started not feeling good. For some reason I took my blood pressure and it was very high for me. The bottome number along was over a 100. The top ranged from 140 to 160 and the bottome4 number was always over 100. I also noticed that my heart rate was over a 100 a well. I went to the doctor Friday of last week and they did an EKG and it was normal. I advised them I knew something was very wrong. I have never had problems like this before.
7156294 tn?1395365917 I have a little cuff and I like to check my blood pressure and pulse rate every now and then especially since last appointment was a little high. Today its 127/58 and pulse is 137. This is the highest it's been since I started checking it. Should I be worried?
Avatar n tn I cut downon the heavy meals ,Everything was normal for about a week,About 2 hours ago while I was lying down, I sort of felt a jolt in my left side ,Then about an hour later the blood pressure and heart rate was drastically up. B.P-160 H.R, as high as a 100..Same as it was during my previous problems,This time it was not after a meal. The doctors at the E>R told me not corncern myself,it's not in the danger area.Between these bouts the vitals are normal.
