Avatar n tn It is a generalized growth of thick nodules that started on her right foot. It looked like a skin-colored pimple (without the pus or fluid inside) that became thick, grew in size, it spread throughout both her legs to the knees and to both her arms ,and on the elbows. According to her, the growths are very very itchy, so she tends to scratch them. Over the year, the skin over these nodules became thick and became dark in color.

Avatar f tn She said that I should go back to the dermatologist and have his investigate it. The skin really looks like all of the pictures of scleroderma. Does anyone know if scleroderma is detected any other way?
Avatar m tn Hello, From the pictures it looks like nodules on the wrist and these nodules may be due to epidermoid cysts, lipomas and benign neurofibromas, big dermal nevi, dermatofibromas and if itchy prurigo nodularis. The other possibilities are rheumatoid nodule, Gouty tophus andTuberous Xanthoma. I suggest you to discuss all these possibilities with your sister’s doctors.
Avatar f tn But these things underneath the surface of the matter are layers of hair like to the size of a rice grain (there mostly white sometimes brown) we dont know what they are but there are hundreds of them under all his skin. They vary in size some are small to where they look like a fiber to as huge as a rice grain. But it seems the top layer is the smaller to medium size and underneath those are the rice looking.
Avatar m tn The ulcer went away, but in February (I think...not 100% sure when they appeared), I noticed I had some very small, white nodules on the shaft of my penis. There are about 6 of them spread out. I'd say they look like pimples, but when I feel them they feel more like tiny skin tags. They are not painful at all. I had not had any sexual partners between the one in November and them showing up.
Avatar n tn I am really intrigued by the description later in this article about the skin "nodules" (erythema nodosum) mentioned. Does she run a fever (might explain the crankiness?) or have joint pain, too? good luck with your search for the answer. I would personally take her for another opinion. Please let us know what happens! Crohn's Disease (Original description by Dr. Crohn in 1932.
Avatar n tn Has had an ilostomy since he was 25 or 30 years old. He has only recently developed sever problems with the skin around the stoma. He has developed a hard abscess and extreme irritation around the area. This irritated area is expanding and now he has a terrible time attaching the appliance. I have several photos of the area. They show the area very well and should help explain the problem.
Avatar m tn I have no diseases, do not use drugs, but drink on occasion. Anyways, just started noticing these strange symptoms, within the past few weeks. Nothing "brought it on" so to speak that I can tell of. It's been going on longer, but less noticeable, now since I do not talk sleeping meds any more, it's all that I can notice... Symptoms are strange sensations on my skin. The sensation is it feels like there are "invisible bugs" crawling on, and/or biting my skin.
Avatar f tn All over the bearded part of my face, what appeared to be sacs of hardened oil under the surface of the skin had been forming nodules. These didn’t get infected, each just grew larger. Over the years I’ve seen dermatologists who said, because of my otherwise great health, “you’re just a middle aged adolescent,” blaming it on high testosterone, etc. The apparent acne problem continued and worsened.
Avatar m tn Three days ago I started feeling like whatever this was is now in my skin (I'm certain of it), It's under the skin on my face, my scalp, my back, my toes, and my feet. I can feel it crawling in and out of my anus at times also. Went to the dermatoligist today and of couse he says it's my imagination, some people get it. He's subscribed me some DEXEPIN for depression. :( Funny thing is I'm not depressed, my life was quite good until this bug showed up.
Avatar f tn So it's been a few (I think 2/3 months) since I had these hard dome-shaped nodules appear on the back of my thighs. There's 3 of them and they're really small.
Avatar m tn It is a benign granulomatous disease characterized by a ring composed of smooth, firm papules or nodules on the skin which gradually enlarges. It is a result of an immune-type reaction of the skin. Granuloma annulare is self-limiting with a course of about 2 years, treatment is not necessary except for cosmetic reasons. Treatment is generally topical steroid creams, followed by oral steroids and finally intradermal injections at the site of each ring.
Avatar n tn Hi, This could be due to acne/pimples/ or infection of the hair follicles called folliculitis or some bacterial infection/ fungal infection or some skin nodules etc. Nothing can be said with surety without having a look at the lesions. It would be best to consult a doctor about the symptoms if they do not resolve and get a proper clinical examination. You need to wash the areas several times with fresh water. Do not use any cosmetic products at the sites.

125112 tn?1217277462 My doctor checked my neck quickly but never requested me to swallow or tilt my head back. The ENT comes here in February and will address it with him. He's been at his job for quite a number of years and think his senses are more in "tune." It was his anesthesiologist who shouted out to me to have my thyroid checked as I was being wheeled away after my tonsillectomy. During a follow-up, my ENT commented that he wanted another CT scan done.
Avatar n tn Other than that, I have had no sexual contact with another person. I have small, persistent nodules, resembling pimples, on my upper lip...as well as on the genital area. These same nodules are on my nipples and possibly the crease of my elbow, though i'm not sure the ones at the crease of my elbow isn't just rough skin. The bumps do cause periodic itching, though usually not on the elbow crease. Though, they do not appear to be as grotesque as some pictures of herpes on the internet.
Avatar n tn I want to know if being sick by staph at young age could have affected me now having this bad acne?! Q: Or what if those acne on my face aren't regular acne but staph acne?! because I heard of those?! Thank you, Andrei.
Avatar m tn It's been frustrating over the last year to get anyone to really take me seriously about the severity of this but even I had no idea this infection was as deep as it was. The skin all around hollow hole is completely solidified now and it didn't even bleed! Again, it's really deep and it's somewhat sore and aches now and there is more infection around the base and sides of the hole and other areas on the chin.
Avatar n tn It was a picture of solar (actinic) keratosis. Most of these pictures though have big clusters of these lesions, but I only have one on my arm. Is the starting to shave the arm just a coincidence this developed? Let me know what you think and if I'm possibly correct.
Avatar m tn Several nodules/bumps began to rise; they were a bit transparent, pink and fleshy and had a globe shape. Under the bumps I could see what looked like a white pus substance. I tried popping one, but the pus was too far under neath the skin (the pus wasn't at the top like a normal zit). Keep in mind there were several of these. About 2-3 weeks later, they began to dry out/crusted over/cracked open (slight itching was present) and they went away on their own.
Avatar m tn Lichen planus is a condition that forms an itchy rash on the skin or in the mouth. The exact cause of lichen planus is unknown. It may be related to an autoimmune disorder. Regards.
Avatar m tn I researched my exposure to livestock vectors, wild game, and human/animal interaction vectors, and grew weaker and sicker until I decided to combine, high vitamin dosages, 99% sulfur ointment and a 10% permethrin regime that caused parasitic die off syndrome forcing fleeing parasites to move under my skin.
Avatar f tn Amy, My ultrasound showed one small, complex (mixed) nodule which turned out to be cancerous. Here's some good information on cysts: http://www.endocrineweb.com/nodule.html and http://www.endocrineweb.com/noduleus.html My nodule was solitary, complex, and had rough edges. From what I read (and not having this forum) I decided that it was too small for a good FNA biopsy and just went ahead and had the surgery. Oh, I also had a gut feeling about it too. Anyway, it was cancerous.
579258 tn?1250652943 so hopefully I'll be getting a few more answers and a better understanding of this then. Thankfully, thus far, mine appears to be a primary skin infection, which is even rarer .. but the better option. The picture attached is of the area of three lesions, all of which have been drained before. The top one is flairing with cellulitis and there is an area in the middle with fluid. The dark lines directly below it, are healed scars from the previoius Incision & Drainage of those areas.
Avatar m tn At the back of the penis head where the foreskin connects to i noticed two small spots like pimpley nodules with whitehead bits that was the very small under the rim of the penis head at the back. Not exactly like a face spot yet similar appearing to become a white spot under the skin 's surface appearance. My last sexual exposure was with a three uk escorts the last being 4 weeks prior to having unprotected oral with cum in mouth with two different escorts and condom protected vaginal sex.
