961503 tn?1247059639 I have been prescribed Simvastatin 40 MG and Lisinopril 10 MG for high cholesterol and high blood pressure (1 pill each every day) - I'm on my 2nd day of Simvastatin and will be taking Lisinopril on thursday. My doctor wanted me to not start them both at the same time so that I can see, if any, side effects Sim will have - and once I start the Lisinopril, I can see what different, if any, side effects both pills could have.
Avatar n tn Pulse pressure is the difference in blood pressure between the systolic blood pressure and the diastolic blood pressure. Pulse pressure in healthy adults in a sitting position is about 40 mmHg. Your have a wide pulse pressure of 93mmHg.
Avatar n tn I am 71 years old. About 10 weeks ago my blood pressure went suddenly up to183/87 and went to ER. Doctors did CT scan, x-rays, blood work and found every thing normal. They just gave me anti anxiety medication and sent me home. Also me contact a cardiologist. The following week I was quite normal and my bp was never more than 130/80. Following week contacted cardiologist as a precaution. He suggested to take Carvidilol 6.25my/Lisinopril 5mg/Simvastatin 25mg/Aspirin81mg.
Avatar m tn I also have both high cholesterol and high blood pressure. For me, they are not related. I use simvastatin to lower the cholesterol and lisinopril to lower the bp. The lisinopril works w/o the simvastatin and v.v.
Avatar m tn My mother is 70 years old. In the past year there have been many significant changes in her health for the worst. I've gone through 2 family doctors and 2 neurologists and none can explain what is wrong with her. First I'd like to tell you what medication she is currently taking then I'll tell you what's wrong with her. A) Verapamil 240 mg B) clonozepam 1 mg C) simvastatin 20 mg D) levothiroxin 50 mcg E) Benicar 40 mg F) ramapril 10 mg.
Avatar m tn I have been taking simvastatin for over 2 years to lower my cholesterol. I 've gained over 50 pounds, and I don't think the drug is doing what its supposed to do, I forgot to mention that, never before have I had "high blood-pressure" until now. I have stopped taking the drug in the hope that the pounds and the blood-pressure will return to "my" normal health state. My question is: what side affects or withdrawl symptoms should I expect?
Avatar f tn Problem is I think if you can't take one statin you may not be able to take any. But there are other drugs you can try like Niaspan (slow release niacin) and vitorin and so forth. I don't know if you are into changing your diet but if you get a chance watch the video Forks over Knives. It is how a plant based diet can reverse althroschlerosis. My husband's cholesterol was 260, blood pressure was 140/90 and weight 260. He is 6' 2" though.
Avatar f tn Anyway, I am wondering if anyone has experienced head pressure and off center dizzyness--not the spins, but just off. I also have tingling in my chest at times, my hands and my feet. I am however, on Paxil and Ativan at night. I have been weaning myself off both meds for the past 2 weeks very slowly. I don't have anxiety or depression, but was put on these by my EP for the arrhythmia symptoms. I did not like beta blockers. Anyway, I am worried I am at risk for a stroke.
474189 tn?1211184460 They have put me on Lisinopril and Simvastatin (despite blood pressure or cholesterol never being high ??) they say it is to try to lessen any further damage but that's as much as they tell me at the moment.
Avatar m tn I took an aspirin thinking it may be blood pressure and that didnt do the trick either, it did seem to help a little but not enough to alleviate the symptoms. At this time, I take 500-750 mg of metformin per day and 20 mg of simvastatin at bedtime. Any answers could help. Thanks in advance.
512560 tn?1222560127 Thank you. I have had blood tests, but haven't had [gone] for the results for my last ones. I do have very high blood pressure, I am on 100 mg Atenolol and 40 mg Simvastatin [I'm only 31 years old]. With regard to 'values' I don't know what you mean, but the only abbreviations are 'UTE' and 'LFT'.
Avatar n tn As the hematuria is detected in the morning sample or in concentrated urine, two matters need specific attention - Blood pressure control, as blood pressure is normally at its highest in the early hours (around 4 a.m.), and hydration. Ensure that your fluid intake is regular and optimal as it can help prevent damage to the kidney, especially when you are on medications that can prove toxic to kidney function.
1273125 tn?1365077526 Every time I go to pick up my medicine now the Pharmacists stop what they are doing to ask if my doctors have spoken to me about being on a statin and do I have high blood pressure?????
Avatar f tn Last week at the doctor's for a check up, my blood pressure was normal, heart rate 70 beats per minute, so he reduced my already-lowest-dose-for-a-pill BP medicine (lisinopril/hydrochlorthiazide ), with a recheck of my BP this week. So this week, slightly higher (normal range) blood pressure but a heart rate at 44 beats per minute!!
Avatar m tn Blood pressure is in the limits 137/75 hearth rate is in the morning from 55-65 bpm.. I don't take any medication to lower blood pressure.. I have only problems with high cholesterole but now I'am taking enegy 10/20 pils.. the only problem i notice is that this pills make me weak and tired.. Avatar n tn time to see how my blood pressure is. I will ask him about Metoprolol. Have you had any other blood pressure medication that you didn't like?
Avatar m tn entecavir lowers hbvdna and replication, so number of circulating virions but cannot stop virions and replication complitely simvastatin, makes weak virions so maybe replication can be lowered so much or stopped complitely and fasten cccdna and hbsag lowering nitazoxanide, acts lowering hbsag it is also good to note that etv and ntz has no sides, and also simvastatin has almost no sides (only less than 1% develops sides on liver) and studies on sim on cirrhosis have found lower liver cancer ra
Avatar m tn An aneurysm of the aorta is subject to harm with heavy lifting as this spikes the blood pressure, the stress test should not cause an unsafe blood pressure, but there should be a cardiologist on standy if the physical exertion causes a problem. Medication can be a substitute for the treadmill if there is a risk. For some people 60-80 lbs., is a strain and unsafe, some may not find the 60-80 lbs. not heavy lifting! You should talk to your doctor.
Avatar m tn I've been taking 80 mg simvastatin daily for the last 8 years, will tis be tha cause of an elevated GGT reading of over 350?
Avatar m tn I am on Lisinopril - 40 mg (Blood Pressure) and Metoprolol - 50 mg (Beta Blocker), Simvastatin - 10 mg (Cholestrol). I am very concerned about this low pulse rate. I do not see the cardiologist till next Fri. for the consulation. I hope I don't drop dead before than. Any suggestions on what I should do.
Avatar f tn ve also had an echocardiogram with last stress test 2 years ago which came out fine. Also bloodwork was good. I am on high blood pressure medicine, although it was jus slightly elevated, I'm also on Simvastatin although my cholesterol is only slightly elevated as well. My biggest problem to me has been GERD, and IBS.
Avatar f tn A family member has just started taking Lisinopril for high blood pressure, and has had trouble sleeping. Should the medication be taken in the morning instead of evening? Or does it vary, depending on the person.
Avatar n tn I think they are in the same drug class, I've taken both with the similar results. As I recall, I was changed from lipitor to simvastatin because simvastatin isn't as strong a statin because of some very strong congestive heart meds that impact the liver and kidneys. Factors that can change liver functions include weight gain, alcohol consumption, exercise levels and diet, so it takes a health professional, which I'm not, to ferret out cause for blood test changes.
