I have been taking simvastatin for over 2 years to lower my cholesterol. I 've gained over 50 pounds, and I don't think the drug is doing what its supposed to do, I forgot to mention that, never before have I had "high blood-pressure" until now. I was on simvastatin also and my cpk was high and getting higher and they took me off immediatly. as I understand it all statins have the potential to cause cpk to rise. you may want to stop taking it. check w/ your Dr.

However, I also heard that you may still have high blood sugar even though the fasting level is normal. Thus, there are a couple tests that meed to be run together esp. with symptoms. Could stomach and urine tract infections explain all the symptoms that I have? Should I request my doc to run a thorough diabetes screening test?
