Hello: I have Heart Disease, High blood pressure, I have been taking Atenolol for about 10years, I also take Vytorin. Now I noticed I have been loosing my hair, I heard both atenolol and vytorin can have this effect on some people. So the doctor is going to change both meds one at a time to see which maybe making me loose my hair, we just changed my atenolol to "Metoprololo suc cer".

45 a.m., I checked my blood sugar and blood pressure. Both were around 180. A few days later, both returned to normal. Though I did not have any unusual bowel problems during these episodes, I had begun having very bad diarrhea 24/7, and at times, explosive diarrhea that came on without much warning. My doctor told me to stop taking Vytorin for two weeks, then get back on. I went to a new family doctor about my "episodes" and told him of the diarrhea.

I used to have a high cholesterol and i have been taking Vytorin for the last 22 days and now my cholesterol is back to normal. However my SGOT increases to 56 and SGPT 100. Is Vytorin causes SGOT and SGPT to increase? Also, i have taken Anti hepatitis 2x. Does this have possibility to increase the SGOT and SGPT?

Besides the exercise, I have a desk job 5 days a week getting little other exercise. Someone suggested that I consider a inner imaging screening (EBT Hart scan). I am on Lipitor and Vytorin. Recent blood work revealed cholesterol at 118 but CPK at 205 also I have been experiencing lower back pain.

t do very good job of controlling my blood pressure (it fluctuated highly ranged from 80-50 to 165-110). Then, the doctor added Atenolol 25mg in addition to Lisinopril 20mg. So I take both Lisinopril 20mg in the morning and 25mg Atenolol daily. But suddenly I started experiencing falling due to legs losing all their strength and I just fall and have to crawl for help. Legs do not hurt or anything, they just lose strength. So with arms.

Hi, I am on lisinopril also I just started on Friday. I am also on Dyazide and Verapamil for high blood pressure. My blood pressure goes bananas also. I am also on Vytorin which I started on saturday. i had expirianced a heart failur n high blood pressure before 1 month, now am under treatmemnt ........but these days i have a sevear muscular pain n joint pain in both arm ...is it possible that it related 2 the heart failure?

Despite controling my diet and doing karate 3 hrs per week I have high cholesterol (287) and high triclyceride (250). I am at a lost and don't know how best to control it. At these levels I feel dizzy and lethargic. Please advise.

My dad had a heart attack at 49, second at 73, he is now 82. I went for stress test and echo last week. Dr said stress was great but he saw a very small calcium deposit on lining of heart muscle, not near arteries. He was not overly concerned and said we just need to watch it during next year's test.

Vytorin is a statin that lowers LDL and raises HDL. I believe Vytorin is a combination of Zetia and Zocor. I am not sure if the Vytorin will go with the Niaspam so you will need to ask your doctor that.

I have IBS with diarrhea. My family doctor gave me Vytorin and it caused ONE HORRIBLE bout with the diarrea. So, my question is: Should people with IBS not take Vytorin? If the answer is: No,they shouldn't,then why do you think this side effect is not listed on the pamphlet that comes with the drug.....or any where else?!

I was told I had high blood pressure in December of 2007. I had a sinus infection but did not show any of the usual signs at the time. I was placed on Toprol XL 50mg. I began experiencing very cold feet and hands, had panic attacks and feelings of suicide. I have been very depressed since I started using. I had started walking and had gotten up to 2miles a day. If you have no prior history of high blood pressure i would think theres a very good chance as these meds do crazy stuff....... I have read here where those with high BP before tx saw it go down while on treatment...... Good luck going forward.

I have had high blood pressure through out most of my pregnancy i am now 35wks. I started swelling really bad last week and at my apt yesterday my blood pressure had jumped even higher to 156/90. My mid wife didn't seem concerned at all she just re took it and made my appointments weekly now. I can't seem to get rid of a head ache ive had for a couple days. Should i be worried???
