The Seroquel xr for about two and a half months. The Lithium for over ten years. The Lithium, I do not believe it causes weight gain. Seroquel xr, yes. It, so far is the best antipsychotic I have ever taken, we'll see as the time goes on. I gained about fifteen pounds at first on Seroquel xr! I cut out most colas, I never have been a snacker. It does not make me crave food or sugar, it just adds weight.

I am now backon Seroquel 300 miligrams along with my Lithium and Pexeva. I feel like it doesnt work as well as it did the first time. I went up to 450 with Seroquel, but I am just way too sleepy. Does anyone know a drug that works well with Pexeva and Lithium? My biggest problems are racing thoughts and anxiety when I am off of the Seroquel. Help!

I was on lithium and seroquel. Worked wonders. Im only on seroquel now cuz im pennant and it.still works but not as.

It was complex for myself as a person with schizoaffective disorder or people I knew with bipolar with psychotic features as there a mood stabilizer and an antipsychotic was neccessary. With straight bipolar Seroquel being an FDA approved mood stabilizer should work at a therapeutic dose. You can see if at a proper dose you can tolerate the akathesia. Akineton does work but it is one of many side effect pills. You can see if it works for you.

I took ect from 4/2008 to 7/2009 and ended up with all kinds of problems. My memory is terrible, short term and long term. I've been on trileptal for 3 yrs and seroquel for a year. The seroquel helps but I put on a lot of weight. I'll never go back to ect.

Are there anybody out there who have also had the really BAD experience I had with lithium. My doc prescribed it in 2006 and I got steadily worse, rather than better. he still kept met on lithium, just kept increasing the dosage. Last year I got really sick, I lost my cognitive powers - couldn't see, hear, hold something in my hand, climb stairs, walk straight. I was off balance all the time. So I was sent to hospital and put on Epilim. What a relief!

yes i did experience this with only one pill of lithium so i stopped it directly. I am on seroquel for a few years now but wanted to check lithium as everybody benefits from it. YET i failed from the 1st pill. I was erring in the house for hours without stop. Perhaps it interacts with serouel.

Hello, I take Lithium and Seroquel . The Seroquel increase's appetite and weight gain but i have no issue's with Lithium except dry mouth and dehydration sometime's ,so i drink lot's of water . It's a mood stabilizer and work's well for me and you need regular blood test's so your Lithium levels are not too high .

Eventually, after he sees how the lithium reacts with me and I get some blood work done to see if i am taking the correct levels of it...he wants to ween me off of the Seroquil and then later the Klonopin..... Tell me ALL YOU KNOW ABOUT LITHIUM pleeeeeeeaaaaasssssseeeee??????

Yeah, the whole battle has been a two headed beast... The Lamictal and Neurontin combination has worked for me and it's not like it just stopped. The mood swings are nowhere near as bad they were before I was placed on them. So, I would prefer to just plays with those medications and find solid dosages. The other option is drastic; get off of the Lamictal, figure out if it was causing the bad reaction to Seroquel and Lithium and work from there..

I am on lithium only. My doctor is very conservative and is not one to give a new pill for every symptom. I felt like I needed something else, but she upped the lithium and said it takes awhile to balance out. Next visit I said I was a little better but still was struggling. I like her, she just said to give it time, as long as I can manage, let the lithium work as long as possible. My last episode, I lost my memory.

Hi. I am bipolar and currently taking Lithium, Neurontin, Seroquel & Lamictal. I have only been on the Lamictal for about 7 weeks, starting @ 25mg & every 2 weeks adding another 25mg; thus I am currently @ 100mg per day.

Hi Cocolei- I have taken Seroquel for years. At one point I did take a small dose of Seroquel during the day -50mg. At night I have taken as much s 600-800mg. When I was in the hospital, there were some people taking as much as 1000mg at bedtime. You didn't say how much total Seroquel you are on. But I do know that the Seroquel really helps stablize my moods. Talk to your doctor about this medication, it sounds like maybe you are not on enough at bedtime.

Because I once tried lithium for one day to check mood stabilizers and the same phenomenon occurs i started running in the house, so it could be the lithium and the seroquel was masking it. So as seroquel was gone you got the side effect of lithium. People get used to the latter i didn't for even one day. The best thing go back to your pdoc in this.

I have tried Seroquel, Seroquel XR, Zyprexa, and Lithium, all in the space of a few weeks... I thought that they were causing me to cycle harder, but I have realized that I am getting the akathisia side effect from them.. When the sun is down, they bring up my mood, but when it's bright out, I get very agitated.. All of these drugs have this side effect as they work on dopamine. I am at a loss right now; has anyone else had this problem? I am slowly running out of medications...

I've been on the Seroquel over a year now , i've been tried on other combinations like anti depressants with the seroquel with not much luck due to the side effect's and some of them sending me either manic or suicidal type depression , so now they put me on lithium , but they also said to me last time i saw psychiatrist that i possibly might need another anti pychotic , but i just have to wait and see what they decide in two day's time , and i will get back to you .

My husband takes seroquel and depakote. He has been on it for 10 years and has done great with it. He did change from taking morning/night to just at night due to his high dose making it difficult to function during the day.

) Now I take Tegretol and Wellbutrin, and that seems to be working for me except that I think the Wellbutrin may have triggered olfactory seizures when I was taking it with lithium, seroquel, and prednisone--which all increase the seizure risk of Wellbutrin. Wellbutrin is supposed to be least apt to trigger mania, but for those who are triggered, it is usually very bad. Wellbutrin is kind of in a class of it's own, working on dopamine and norepinephrine to some extent.

i've realized on all medications i've been on for my bipolar they work well at first but i slowly become immune i guess cuz they stop working ?? I've been on lithium and seroquel n this old medication for sleeping and this has happened.
