All of them give me side effects but the Geodone (Zeldox here in Canada) has the least side effects of the bunch so I take it. Risperadol made me lactate - that was a deal breaker. lol. My combo is trazodone, lamotrigine, and Geodone (Zeldox). It took me a loooong time to get to the point of stability.

I was given Seroquel in the hospital for sleep and it made me sleep a lot for a couple of days. After 5 days it only made me sleep at night. It lost it's effectiveness after a couple of weeks though. I take Trazadone now and It works pretty well for me. Don't take Ambien if you can avoid it. It's a Benzodiazapine and is addictive. I took Ambien for over 2 years and when I went to detox I quit that too. Went right to Trazadone and it worked right away...

Do you know anything about this drug, and is it approved for use in Canada?

May be worth looking into. I am in Canada though and I know our systems are quite different. It seems very strange that risperadone is covered and seroquel is not as they are about the same price. I would perhaps double check and make sure it wasn't an error. I loved what risperadone did to my brain, but it spiked my prolactin levels so I had to go off of it.

Hey you're opinion is always welcome...but like all the posts on this site they have to be considered as 'opinions' only. The information gained thru each and everyones experience is like getting our own online degree....but none the less we are all under the care of each our own pdocs and must respect their advice...its just so good to know these meds ourselves than to have more valuable input into our treatment... Oh as I mentioned b4 I live in Canada...

Its a matter of promoting full mood stability than just treating depression only and creating the potential of mania (which can happen with anti depressents prescribed for bipolar especially on their own) and since Seroquel has been FDA approved as a full mood stabilizer and works in that regard (as I remember when I was prescribed it) it has full efficacy in this area but there is still continuing research (unlike its effect on schizophrenia which is known) to understand exactly why.

just how long and constant can these anxiety symptoms get? Mine never go away, I am in Canada and Doctors here tend to really frown upon giving anything prescriptions for sleep and anxiety for longer than a 7 - 10 day period. I really need advice if someone has had these lenght of symptoms please.

Does it really work? Because I have been given 10mg Diazepam and it hasn't helped that much with W/D's or stop the attacks. I have posted about this before and someone suggested that if I can't get Clonidine I should try to get Seroquel. I can't get into much detail on here, but I really need anyone who has taken Seroquel to PLEASE, post about how it made them feel, if it helped with W/D's? Did it let you fall asleep?

Oh, and one last negative comment about seroquel in my life...I gained 40 pounds. All the while throwing up like Paris Hilton on a dinner date. zzzmykids: I am truly glad that seroquel works for you.

I am extremely overweight and have sleep apnea. I find it increasingly dificult to focus and function in my daily life. I was taking seroquel for a year and I think that it did much more harme than good. I could not get off of it without help. that is why I am taking trazadone to get me off the seroquel. I no longer take the seroquel. my appetite is out of control and I am getting up in the middle of the night eating sometimes with no recoloection that I did so.

You see Zeldox, and Abilify have just become available in Canada so it seems our psychiatrists are not as aware of actual side affects because when I went to go get my prescription filled a red flag came up in the system telling the pharmacist she couldn't allow me to take both effexor, and zeldox at the same time. Very frustrating.... I know I should be happy just being level, but I'm just so frustrated with the weight gain I'm willing to try other alternatives.

Now i am under stablon a French AD non-existent in Canada i am afraid but fantastic for anxiety and mild. There is the welbutrin they say doesn't bring mania. But your pdoc has to find something for his anxiety. You remember gabapentin (neurontin) an MS weak but excellent for anxiety. I remember your 1st letter seeking an anxiolytic but not benzo because addictive.

Now i am starting myself (take me as a volunteer) on a medicine available in our country and unfortunately non existent in either the UK, USA, Canada, Australia i.e. the English spoken countries it's produced by Servier a French comp and called Stablon/coaxil/tianeptine. It is advisable to take 3 pills each of 12.5mg however i take one only and i recovered from depression in 4 days.

I suferred from gad and panic desorder. I'm on zoloft 175mg, clonopin 1mg 3 times a day, seroquel 100mg to go to sleep and 25 mg twice a day, however, I don't take the seroquel morning dose because it makes me too sleepy. I'm desperate trying to find out why I'm still having anxiety and the ton of meds are not working. I was on disability for two months and just went back to work. I've been constantly crying and being anxious. I don't know what to do.

Also, when a treatment gets approved in the States, it takes some time for it to be approved in Canada as we are behind the U.S.

Does anyone have any names of docs in Canada who deal with AD. We were vacationing in Australia, both got bit by jellyfish. I had AD for 3 months and it went away. He still has it after 2 years. He was healthy, young 35 yr old with no health issues. It's crazy, I could make a movie out of our experience. Any help is appreciated.

I take seroquel in 150mg and it don't do **** at all any more i have to swallow 2 pills to knock me out I.

NOW, i am a size 10 or 12...and all the weight is in my stomach(with a little in my hips/butt). I have long been questioning why am i taking so much seroquel (150mg) and only 1mg apexidone (egyptian brand for risperidone) which made me try to reduce the first by all means but in vain, until i discovered that my 1mg of the 2nd equals 100 of the 1st. So by taking 150mg seroquel i am in fact taking 1.5mg of risperidone only. I was trying hard to reduce my seroquel by 50mg meaning trying to reduce my apexidone by 0.5mg which is nonsense.
