I was diagnosed with Bipolar Type 2 last year and after trying a million meds, my perfect cocktail was Pexeva 20 mg, Lithium 300 mg and Seroquel 300 mg. I was happier than I had ever been, but the Seroquel caused major weight gain and major sleepiness-I was falling asleeo at work. I went off Seroquel and tried Abilify and one other (cant remember) but they did not work. I am now backon Seroquel 300 miligrams along with my Lithium and Pexeva.

t know what the new meds will cost yet. Any and all information is appreciated! (I have never treated before, geno 1a, stage 2.5 fibrosis). Also, as a side question, any information on getting treatment in Canada would be helpful. My husband has dual citizenship and I'm wondering if that might be an option for me. Thanks!

I have been on all of those pills. When it comes to ssri's I have been through sooooo many of them. Zoloft didn't work, Wellbutrin made me shake so much I could hardly put my make-up on, cymbalta made my anxiety go through the roof, prozac made me too hyper and anxious, paxil worked then stopped, Anafranil was for my OCD but didn't work, even when I tried it intervenously. I also had combonations of these pills. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. All I can say is THANK GOD FOR LUVOX...

I've just changed docs and now he has put me on seroquel, i was on lithium. I was wondering is seroquel better than lithium? I was only diagnosed 18mths ago and already been on three different meds???

I had my seroquel during the day upped, and then switched over to the extended release which will work all day. I also had my lamactil upped as well, 5//7 nights it works well. I take ativan if I need it, but take Trazadone for sleep every night, it's not a tranq. like the other meds. If I've been sleepy without the Trazadone, I just don't take it, and haven't seen any adverse affects regarding this. You might want to talk to your pdoc about a sleep med switch.

Over here in the UK, we generally don't know what the cost of tests and drugs are, as they are covered by the NHS. But over the past 12 months I have started to learn a bit of what thing cost, and it appears that even if you go private they are considerabley cheaper than in the US which to me dosen't seem quite right.

This is interesting. I do have to say though, that $236 in India is probably worth more than $3,949 in the US. On the other hand, I'm in Italy and my recent week in the hospital didn't cost me a dime. So i am day 10 of being sober off of a 6 year vicodin habit of 40 tabs of 750mg a day and cant get more than 3 hours of sleep a night. I just got a script from my doc for Seroquel and he says it will help with my sleep and anxiety. But he says it will be about 3-4 days of feeling pretty poor. I am feeling better every day and the last thing i want to do is go through 4 days of feeling like c r a p. I have tried Lunesta, melatonin and benadryl with no luck.

I was at my most suicidal while on seroquel so I refused to take it again. Probably not the seroquel that caused the suicidal thoughts - but why take any chances. If I remember correctly Risperadol is one that causes less weight gain as well (it also caused lactation for me - that is a deal breaker - talk about freak you out - I've never had children and there my boobs were leaking - and it can happen to men too! Now that would freak a guy out.

When i start to worry little bit i started to get ill. I was disable to concentrate on my work. Later i took seroquel 300mg which i took in past and found some freshness. I was smooth on seroquel but when doctor start changing medicine from seroquel to risperdal , slowly disaster begin on my life. I miss 2 jobs. Which was so easy. ve been taking Lamictal for about 7 months, along with a secondary anti-psychotic to after a major mania episode. I started on Seroquel for about 3 months, and the combination seemed to work well. I had to D/C the Seroquel when my insurance changed and it wasn't covered. Since then I've tried first perphenazine (4 weeks), then thiothixene (six weeks), but they were too sedating and I was having a problem working.

just how long and constant can these anxiety symptoms get? Mine never go away, I am in Canada and Doctors here tend to really frown upon giving anything prescriptions for sleep and anxiety for longer than a 7 - 10 day period. I really need advice if someone has had these lenght of symptoms please.

Does it really work? Because I have been given 10mg Diazepam and it hasn't helped that much with W/D's or stop the attacks. I have posted about this before and someone suggested that if I can't get Clonidine I should try to get Seroquel. I can't get into much detail on here, but I really need anyone who has taken Seroquel to PLEASE, post about how it made them feel, if it helped with W/D's? Did it let you fall asleep?
