As for paranoia, Seroquel is a very effective antipsychotic (for many people although each person reacts differently to each medication) with mood stabilization properties and while I could tolerate it I found it quite helpful.

are you currently seeing a Mental Health Professional for your debilitating fear/paranoia of being attacked/killed/tortured and these persecutory delusions? Are you ex-military, by any chance? You have a great many issues going on and my heart goes out to you, but I must be honest and tell you that I believe you need to sit down with your doctors and work out a long term health care plan.

I've been on Seroquel for one week and have had swelling of two fingers on the left hand.

I believe my diagnosis is bipolar wth psychotic features. I do take a mood stabiliser - carbamazepine 1400mg. I came close to changing to lamictal but at the last minute the doc changed his mind. Perhaps because he thought it more pressing to treat the mania side than the depression? I will enquire again about this in Jan. I am on a low dose of seroquel, I started on 100mg then went to 300mg maintenence, so perhaps this is not enough or I need to change in order to beat the depression.

I was on a larger dose of Seroquel than that (75-100mg), and never had any problems getting up in the night if the phone rang or my dog nudged me in the face with his nose. But I guess I took Trileptal a long time ago and it didn't do anything for my manic states, and the Seroquel didn't always help me sleep anyway, so it is possible that they affect you differently. I would suggest at least trying to take it.

Spouse taking Seroquel, Lithium, & Geodon. Auditory hallucinations & delusions began about a month ago with no prior history of mental illness (we've been together 14 years). My doc wants me to try latuda for anxiety, she has seen great success. I take seroquel already for anxiety, and klonopin, and nortryptoline and lamictal. I am not bipolar. I only suffer from amxiety. I also would like k=to know if anyone else has to take so many drugs.

t taking you completely off of it because for me life looks differently when I am on Seroquel than when I am off. Also the Lithium does take a little while to work but it is a medicine that is prescribed to a lot of us. I tried it for a while but switched back to Lamictal because it worked better for me. It does take a while and you will have to have your levels checked every so often but I know for a lot of people it works wonders.

Hi there, I am on seroquel and effexor, I am also on epilim for my bipolar, for me the combination works really well although my seroquel dose is 50 mg, i think there are two strengths of seroquel. But I find that the combination of seroquel, effexor 150 and epilim 800 after a lot of tweaking, crying, mania, thrashing about finally works. i have noticed though that i have stacked on the weight, but after some research have found that these meds can do that.

DX with Cyclothymia and was given script for Effexor, then Seroquel and now Abilify. Dumped Seroquel down toilette and want to do the same with Abilify. Pristiq was the best and want to find MD who will put me on that.

As i become sleepy again after a while i reduce it to 125 back again and fix it for a while. But seroquel range is large in the sense that 900mg of seroquel (theoretically the max therapeutic dose) is equivalent to 20mg of olanzapine (again max therap..) which means that reducing olanzapine by 2.5 is like reducing seroquel by about 100mg which is very large (google for the equivalence of antipsychotics e.g. 1mg risperidone is equivalent to 100 seroquel, etc...

Hi ,I saw my psychiatrist today , it went well, my lithium levels were normal , so i'll be starting on the new dose tonight and she has prescribed me 2mg of Respirdone to help the psychosis and paranoia ,and i've reduced my Seroquel from 600mg to 400mg because it hasn't been working properly anyways, i'm due back to see her in 3 weeks but she said if i have any issue's with any of the meds and the dose's to give her a phone call , i'm still not real well but i feel b

seroquel is a great crisis drug for some people but it isn't a good way of life..took it for months and hated the clumsiness it gave me (athlete) how lazy it made me feel..the overly numb feeling..the blood pressure drops..tardive dyskenisia which i get with most of the drugs lesser with anxiety meds than anti psychotics..Some people just don't do well with these powerful drugs and there isn't a lot of sympathy from people who prescribe them..Omega 3 pharmaceutical grade..CBD oil..

When I was taking seroquel, (quetiapine), I found it to be a really stabilising drug, I didn't have any real extremes of mood, and weirdly, never cried. My only problems were that I got very tired at times, and often got cramps in my legs, but after awhile taking it those things became less harsh. Good luck with it.

I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder and have been on Seroquel 200 mg for approx one year. Since being on the med I have experienced extreme forgetfulness. My short term memory is especially affected and it's getting progressively worse. I don't think forgetfulness is listed as a side effect of Seroquel. Since taking seroquel for bipolar my life has slowed down enormously and I have gone from being very active to the most inactive I have ever been in my life. I lack motivation to do even the most basic things, and I have other side effects. My pdoc believes that this lack of motivation etc is depression, which I'm sure it is but he wants me to increase the seroquel substantially as he believes that it will help.

Afetr being on 100mg of Seroquel at night for about a month now, my sleep is back to normal and the seroquel is making me feel better, keeping depression at bay. I've been through a rough 2 weeks with some personal things and I came through like a champ. I don't need Restoril or Ambien anymore and I have adjusted to Seroquel so my doc wants me on it for a bit longer. If this is the case, then it is in my opinion not a bad choice, though some would argue there are better(safer) options due to the risk factors involved with the class of drugs to which Seroquel belongs. There are a number of other(*safer*) drugs that are being prescribed for sleeping issues which includes antihistamines such as Atarax/ Hydroxyzine or Phenergan/Promethazine or small doses of tricyclic drugs like Doxepin/Sinequan, Mianserin/Tolvon and many more.

Seroquel has now worked for 3 nights of sleep. I take clonazapam and lamtrogine. What could I add as decrease 1 of these? Is tegretol a good choice? Long ago I took lithium, but ballooned up in weight. Suggestions to discuss w/my doctor?

those are the exact symptoms i had on Geodon myself. I was put on 40mg for two days then bumped up to 80mg which i barely tolerated for about a week and a half. the side effects were so severe that i was out of work for two days. when i finally got the pdoc to call me back i had him reduce me back to 40mg a day, which i took for two days, and then the last night i took it, my vision went... that was it for me.. didn't take another dose and had my doc put me back onto the seroquel.

t know about medications but there are alot more out there than epilim and seroquel so trying something different may help. That is a discussion for the psychiatrist. As hard as it may be to watch - he has to want to change and has to see this as a problem. You can do nothing except support your mother and tell your father how you feel about the situation (best to do it when he isn't raging - it could escalate into violence and he can't really hear you when raging anyway.

If mania / hypomania or mixed states is a concern then seroquel is best for this.
