) right now im working on trying to stay out of hospital and a drugs change as I like Seroquel and tolerate it well.

This drug has been a complete godsend for mania, insomnia, agitation and hallucinations, but I'm left with depression, no sex drive, intrusive thoughts and the paranoia has now returned. I also struggle with a racing heartbeat after taking it. I have become a recluse, and wonder if the outcome actually outweighs the problem in the first place. I am torn between insisting on changing medication, trying an antidepressant (which last time sent me into mania), or ditching it altogether.

Hi! I'm diagnosed with a mood disorder and borderline personality disorder and take cymbalta and seroquel plus clonazepam. I'm worried because I suffer quite badly with paranoia. It seems to be getting worse and is very much fixated on some of the people I work with. I feel that they are talking and whispering about me and are plotting ways to get rid of me. has peaked lately with the loss of three jobs in one year due to persecutory delusions. four weeks on 2 x 25 mg seroquel (but had to come off due to tremors and thick tounged speech issues, also twitches on face - doc says (by phone)psych team have never seen that on such a low dose so it can't be the medication tho I was taking NOTHING else but me and my GP saw those twitches and tremors alright! ) ..

Since taking seroquel for bipolar my life has slowed down enormously and I have gone from being very active to the most inactive I have ever been in my life. I lack motivation to do even the most basic things, and I have other side effects. My pdoc believes that this lack of motivation etc is depression, which I'm sure it is but he wants me to increase the seroquel substantially as he believes that it will help.

Lamictal is a mood stabilizer and not a antiphycotic like Seroquel. You may want to do some research on Lamictal and Abilify. Sorry I can't help you anymore than I have, perhaps someone else on this site can give you a better answer.

I admitted him to the hospital because he was abusing cold medicine. they put him in the psych ward and gave him that med along with others. But the seroquel he was given a script for when leaving the hospital and he kept having signs of drug induced schizophrenia.

He needs to stay on his Seroquel and Zooloft. I take Seroquel for Bipolar 1 with psychosis. He would do so well if he went to a therapist or group suport meetings. Have his psychiatrist recommend these things for him and make him go.

DX with Cyclothymia and was given script for Effexor, then Seroquel and now Abilify. Dumped Seroquel down toilette and want to do the same with Abilify. Pristiq was the best and want to find MD who will put me on that.

As i become sleepy again after a while i reduce it to 125 back again and fix it for a while. But seroquel range is large in the sense that 900mg of seroquel (theoretically the max therapeutic dose) is equivalent to 20mg of olanzapine (again max therap..) which means that reducing olanzapine by 2.5 is like reducing seroquel by about 100mg which is very large (google for the equivalence of antipsychotics e.g. 1mg risperidone is equivalent to 100 seroquel, etc...

Hi ,I saw my psychiatrist today , it went well, my lithium levels were normal , so i'll be starting on the new dose tonight and she has prescribed me 2mg of Respirdone to help the psychosis and paranoia ,and i've reduced my Seroquel from 600mg to 400mg because it hasn't been working properly anyways, i'm due back to see her in 3 weeks but she said if i have any issue's with any of the meds and the dose's to give her a phone call , i'm still not real well but i feel b

Yes when I was on Seroquel I had to get an eye exam each year due to the extremely rare risk of cataracts but I saw an opthamologist anyway so it was no big deal. That is statisically rare and no reason to be concerned about Seroquel and a check up as I suggested is the best form of follow up. Seroquel is safe in this regard. In this case (you know I am always factual) your pharmacist was overstating the risk but a follow up visit is generally a good idea.

Since seroquel can cause high BG you sure your diabetic and not as a result of seroquel raising your BG? Go to Google and put seroquel into the serch field.

My first pregnancy i did bot use it and my daughter is very smart. I was wondering if any of you have used seroquel and delivered a healthy baby.

I eventually persuaded my pdoc to take me off it. That was the only side effect though. It did take away hallucinations and paranoia and so forth though. It does work really well.

Has anyone taken Seroquel and anti-biotics and are now experiencing heart problems? Do these issues subside, I stopped the seroquel when this happened?

If mania / hypomania or mixed states is a concern then seroquel is best for this.

My question I took my first dose of Seroquel XR last night and woke with small puffy area inside the 'bags' under my eyes they are still there 9 hours into the day - a non-work, no sun, low energy day (the bags are normal, puffiness is normal when I cry) but usually the whole 'bag' is swollen not just a part. They are not exactly the same size or in the same position, not red, itchy, hot or sensitive.

so i was diagnosed with bipolar 2 disorder a little over a month ago and have been taking seroquel which made me worse than ever and it has been my family doctors recomendation to fire the psychiatrist and stop taking the seroquel and get back on an ssri medication. has anyone had this happen? my psychiatrist seemed very uneducated but most importantly would not listen to me about how this medication was affecting my body and just kept telling me to take more and more... Im confused.

I am currently on Seroquel XR and wish I could get off. Remember, everyone is different and my problems may not happen with you. Long and short is that I don't trust the psych dr that prescribed in to me and so I'm trying to start over. I thought I would wean myself off and started to do so by taking one pill every other day instead of every day. I beginning to think thats not such a great idea.

Every atypical antipsychotic has the potential of metabolic changes that can cause weight gain and on ocassion diabetes but if you eat a sensible diet and exercise that can be kept under control (that also includes the second issue, a person I knew developed pre-diabetes from Abilify and through weight loss, proper dieting and exercise and following up with his doctor was able to keep this in check).
