Seroquel and night sweats

Common Questions and Answers about Seroquel and night sweats

Avatar f tn my doctor gave me seroquel for sleep also, it does tend to make me groggy the next day,so she said for me to try to lower the dose to 25 mgs, it is a common side effect of seroquel and i guess if it effects you this way then it will always effect you this way, my doc told me this side effect doesnt go away with time. but if it helps you sleep while going through withdrawals than take advantage of the times where you CAN sleep...
Avatar f tn I am taking seroquel and effexor. I started having night sweats and the doctor gave me cogentin which worked. Has anyone experienced night sweats fromm the drugs? My regular psychiatrist wants me stop taking cogentin but what is an alternative for the night sweats?
Avatar n tn I take 100mg trazodone nightly, and get terrible night sweats 4-5 times each night, all night long. I wake up completely soaked! I took seroquel before, and hated the way It made me feel. I like the way the trazodone works, but I just can't stand the night sweats anymore. They have been going on for about a month now. I thought they might go away after my body got used to the medicine, but it is no different at all.
425312 tn?1279969779 Why is it that when I take a xanax or a seroquel that the muscles in my legs start going crazy. for example. this afternoon I was feeling blah and too a seroquel to just get some sleep and my legs started going crazy.?
Avatar f tn I just found out I'm pregnant and Im about four weeks along. I didnt take the Seroquel last night and it was horrible. Should I have cut myself off slowly? Would that be safer for my unborn child?
358304 tn?1409713092 My anxiety is very bad right now and I need sleep. SOOO sleep deprived. Hopefully this seroquel xr 50mg will help with insomnia, anxiety and appetite soon.
Avatar m tn Even though my body and mind are attacking me and I'm not getting enough sleep, I definitely notice much more clarity and drive than I had when I was a zombie because of the Seroquel. Rather than tossing and turning or watching tv all night do some research and really educate yourself on what is happening to you. A lot is happening and understanding that will make it easier to deal. Last time I came off it the withdrawal symptoms lasted about 8 months from the date of my last dose.
Avatar m tn My adverse affects are sleep walking, night sweats and shaking hands until I eat something sweet. I am scared to take a diabetes test. I have hepatitis c.

Avatar f tn I don't know if this matters, but I'm on HRT too. I wasn't sleeping and getting night sweats. I use the Vivelle patch and have to take progesterone for 10 days, 10 mgs. I'm so scared.
1224351 tn?1325378417 had quite a bad sleep last night after dropping my seroquel dose. felt nauseus, sweats, headache, diarreah, not sure if its the lower med dose or if im just unwell. Took my 75mg seroquel at 10pm its now 11.30 and im just starting to feel sleepy, ive not craved any sugar or carbs at all!
Avatar f tn com interactions checker. Fentanyl and depakote, topamax, and Seroquel are listed as increasing drowsiness, as does depakote + Seroquel. In addition, depakote + topamax can increase the drug levels of both meds, meaning that he's effectively getting a higher dose of both. Seroquel + topamax also has a slight risk of overheating, although that's a rare side effect and more common in children. I'm guessing the topamax is for migraines.
Avatar m tn Have you taken Seroquel before? I took one Sunday night and it really screwed me up for a whole day or more. I had the worst anxiety in my life for 2 hours until it knocked me out, and the next day I felt like I was underwater all day. Never again! I'm not discouraging you from taking it (it did help me sleep), I'm just saying that you might want to use it as a last resort if you've never tested it before.
1224351 tn?1325378417 Had a bad headache, and sweats all day again. Must be withdrawals. Its now 11pm and i've not had munchies again!!! It must have been the meds causing it. Went shopping, then had my hair trimmed. No ups or downs, felt quite stable today. The sunshine today made me feel good.
Avatar f tn The nortriptyline is supposed to help with nerve pain, prevent migraines and stabilize the mood. I am 43 and last year started having night sweats, lost weight, hair fell out, dry skin, looked like crap, felt like crap. I found out that my Vitamin D was low, I was in full blown menopause and I had a nerve disorder. The new med (along with an estrogen gel) made a huge difference. If you are low in estrogen, it can affect the skin, hair, nails, etc.
997928 tn?1252447837 I always think I can go off pills and that I don't need them, and then someone can say something that irritates me, and I get so pissed. And it usually only lasts for a minute or two, but it's like I turn in to Linda Blair from the exorcist.. I was thinking that maybe I just need to take the Lamictal and not take the celexa since the lamictal is weight neutral.. Does anyone taking Lamictal think it will work for my mood swings?
Avatar f tn I am been trying to figure out what's related to what, and what started when, and so forth and am going crazy! The doctors I have consulted have thus far either dismissed my issues or not been able to find anything. In mid May of this year I developed a right eye blinking and nose twitching to the right side. Around this same time I began to experience pain behind just my right eye and pressure and fullness in my right ear. An MRI showed nothing unusual.
Avatar n tn Tonight I up my dosage again to 50mg at bedtime so i'll be 25 in the morning and 50 at night this week and then 50 and 50 and so on so we will see how it goes! So far I noticed that I do seem to be having less seizures so I guess thats the part that really matters but I am also very queasy, I lose my train of thought (i did that a lot before thought too), and slightly at a loss for words a lot of the time.
Avatar n tn said that the Effexor had been proven to help with night sweats and hot flashes. That is not my main problem right now. The unexplained weight gain is. If anyone can shed any light on any of this please do.
Avatar n tn not stay asleep and with no hangover of a morning. I've just had 2 cataract surgerys and seroquel makes my eyes and mouth way......too dry. Will greatly appreciate ALL posts.
503727 tn?1210442710 As soon as I get into a place I get so dizzy and my vision is all messed up. I get so hot and sweaty and my heart races. I want my life back. I still dont believe that its just anxiety causing all of this. I feel like I have something else wrong that the doctors cant find even though i have had bloodwork, mri, ekg, and they were all normal. I started taking .25mg of xanax once a day. still dont feel any better yet. So if anybody has any help please give it to me.

Avatar f tn my doctor switched my meds she took me off ativan and lexapro and put me of seroquil and trileptal. i am in sweats all night i have a major headache i am so tired...
1476003 tn?1331231592 Keep the blankets ready to kick off when the sweats come and if you fall asleep to wake up and find yourself drenched in sweat, jump in the shower or at the very least change your shirt if you sleep in one. You can sleep on a towel if it gets bad. Push through it. Sleeping is usually the last piece of the puzzle to feeling better. It all comes down to how badly you want it. Most of us here have done this and have gotten through it and you can too.
Avatar f tn it was the worset experience i have ever gone through i would have all the plesent bathroom experiences we all get and all the crazy legs and sweats and it is so hard i am crying as i type this cause it is this deep into the withdeawl and detoxing from those demons in the bottles that u will find crying at first from the pain and than the malaise of it all but i am here and i have taken my life back and am done i am half way there i know what you are going through be strong pray it helps and i
Avatar n tn I am staying with my mother who is becoming sicker as she watches me go downhill. I am so tired that I spend the day in bed, and lie awake much of the night. I don't know why I am telling you all this - I just feel so disempowered by the whole situation - I cannot even remember what normal feels like. You don't need to reply to this post - I think I just needed to vent.
Avatar f tn I don't have it when i wake up so that makes me beleive its stress but i also grind and clench my jaw and wear a night guard. Its strange what the body will do, good luck everyone at least we no where not going mad.
Avatar m tn But it works for me. There's a few side effects I personally get from it. Sometimes I'll get terrible night sweats, my bed sheets will be drenched :/ It also gives me vivid dreams, sometimes they're really strange but I'd rather have insanely odd dreams than not be able to sleep! And also, when I first started taking it, I'd wake up reaaally groggy the next morning. This can be avoided by taking it earlier in the night. But it's only like that until your body gets used to it.
Avatar m tn But all was OK but the horrible night sweats. I asked my Dr about it and she ordered a sleep study. The sleep study did not show sleep apnea. I was surprised it didn't because I had this problem as a kid. But anyhow the test showed a good sleep patteren with 10 hypo-apnea events lasting only 2 seconds at most. However, my Oxygen level stayed on the low side during the deeper stages of sleep, and dropped to about 82%. It stayed on the low side for over 4 hours.
Avatar n tn I sweat really bad and night and it keeps me from getting a good night of rest. It is pretty intense. From reading the forum I know I could be sweating because my body is going through mini=withdraw every night. SO then they would be w/d related. On the other hand, I just had blood tests today to see if I am going through menapause. For me it may be a little of both. YUC kind of a double whammy. All I know is it does make you irratable after a few nights due to sheer lack of sleep.
