Restasis rosacea

Common Questions and Answers about Restasis rosacea

restasis

Avatar f tn The problem then resurfaced and then I was told it was Rosacea of the eye, but I dont have Rosacea of the skin or anything like that and everything I've read about Rosacea of the eye also shows it being related to the skin condition. The problem is only in my left eye. I also get a blurring feeling in that eye. I'm constantly putting artificial tears in that eye but have short term relief. Suzie H.
Avatar f tn Hi, I was diagnosed with 'Ocular Rosacea' and 'Dry Eye Syndrome'. I have used Restasis and have tried allergy drops. My eyes are always red and feel as if I have something in them (which is the bumps under my eyelids). Does anyone know what I can do about this. I've been to so many eye Dr's. and I cannot get them cleared up. I used to wear contact lenses and now I can no longer wear them. It has been almost 5 years since I was able to wear my contacts.
493068 tn?1224765315 I have Ocular Rosacea and it gets very bad at times and have chronic styes. Can you explain why this condition is so painful? I am off and on Doxycyclines and Erythromycin ointment. Is there any other new treatment? I also have glaucoma and have Sjogrens. I have some days that I am unable to read or drive.
493068 tn?1224765315 I have severe ocular rosacea and facial rosacea. I have been in just severe pain. I have kept a juournal for 6 months and stress form ilness ex: UTI and low humidity makes it go wild. I feel like I just can't handle this horrible pain much longer. My opthalmologist just gave me Lotemax reluctantly because of glaucoma. Is this rosacea suppose to be this paiful? I take Doxy daily, Travatan, erythromycin eye ointment. I am just at my wits end. Any help would be appreciated.
Avatar f tn I also had an infection in the left eye which cleared up with an antibiotic/antiflammatory drug and the Ophthalmalogist then started me on Restasis. The left eye still has pain. Can you still have dry eye with Restasis? Maybe this is the cause of the pain. Also the floaters are still in the left eye. Can the floaters cause pain also?
Avatar m tn she said I probably dont have rosacea (The second opto said this as well) **She prescribed restasis and Lotemax**. She said the Lotemax will jumpstart the restasis and hopefully i could maybe have my symptoms cleared up before two or thr emonths for the possibility of surgery. She said that I should come back in 6 weeks unless there is a problem. I want to get this cleared up, surgery or not. if its not degressing then i dont need it ***My question - I am a little worried.
429949 tn?1224691579 My opthalmologist has just put me on Restasis eye drops. Does anyone have any experience with these drops or have had any bad side effects from using them? I know what the information on the prescribing list says, but I trust someone who has actually taken them more than what that insert inside the box says! Any info would help!
493068 tn?1224765315 I have had another very bad relapse with my rosacea. I saw the doctor last week. He put me back on the erythromycin ointment and Doxycycline. I had lost my plugs so those were replaced. The stye was so big in my right eye and the pain was just so bad radiating from the back of my eye like fire. He said I would have to take Doxcycline the rest of my life. Is the all of the pain from the rosacea or could it be the glaucoma or something else? Should I go to another doc to have the surgery?
Avatar f tn My daily regimen consists of pataday (allergy eye drops) and restasis in the morning and night and alot of over the counter ointments and drops. I don't think I've heard of anyone with a similar condition as me... I've been in so I'm currently going to an eye specialist who said my eyes don't produce the natural oils that they're supposed to be.. instead of oil the consistency of olive oil, mine is like toothpaste.
Avatar m tn Just curious. I have severe dry eye , My doc Tryed Restasis ( didn't work- maybe worse ) and although one time a Shirmers test reveals nothing on the strip- the next time it would be ok- either way the eyes burnt. He did not feel plugs would be very effective .
493068 tn?1224765315 I have tear duct plugs, use Trvatan Z, arithromycin ointment, Restasis drops, and po Doxycline for ocular rosacea. I just went to my eye doctor and have a corneal scratch and this has been happening very often. My vision is so blurred in this eye and both my eyes hurt all the time Could something more be causing this? I am not scratching my eye or had any injuries. I apprciate any feedback.
Avatar n tn The lid is red and swollen and it hurts. I have been diagnosed with ocular rosacea and blepharitis in the past. The only thing that has worked is doxycycline 50mg 1x/day. My Ophthalmologist and Dermatologist don’t want me taking doxy long term (why I don’t know since it works) and put me on Oracea, which doesn’t do the trick. Does anyone know what these pustules are? How should they be treated?
612876 tn?1355514495 I know we've discussed the dry eye quandary before, but I was hoping we could revisit it because I don't recall the subject of punctal plugs ever coming up before. (And we all know my powers of recollection are top-notch ... sarcasm, sarcasm.
Avatar n tn Thank you very much for your response. I have use Steralid, after while it caused eye irritation. Fish oil made me sick to my stomach. I did ask my eye doctor for antibiotics and his nurse told me he declined that and also restasis. The only two left are the minocycline or deoxycycline and the restasis. So, should I beg the guy, I went to high school with him 30 years ago.
Avatar n tn of scarring disease(ruled out) etc. Also many meds, zylet, restasis, azasite, tobradex. Now currently off all meds, still the eye remains unhappy. I am a nurse in a cath lab in the DFW area in Texas. One of the cardiologists I work with mentioned the possibility of iritis &/or some sort of autoimmune disorder, so I visited my PCP and had everal of the autoimmune tests performed, ANA, C reactive protein, ESR, RF, Latex etc. These results are pending.
Avatar f tn I just got back from my optomologist & he prescribed for me Restasis. He mentioned that once you're on Restasis, it's an on going thing it's not really temporary. Is that the case, do I have to stay on it. I was hoping that once my eye is feeling better, I could just use artificial tears to keep my eyes from drying so badly. He also changed my contact lenses to Acuvue Oasys. Any advice or info would be great.............................
Avatar n tn My ophthalmologist recently prescribed restasis for dry eyes. I read that cyclosporin can causes cancer. Is this true? Are these drops safe?
Avatar f tn I'm on restasis, my wife is on restasis, I use restasis in my practice. the medicine does not cause floaters. Floaters can occur at any time. If they start and you are doing something else like mowing the yard, reading a book or starting restasis the relationship is COINCIDENTAL. On the other hand if you are hit in the eye with a fist and note floaters the relationship is CAUSATIVE.
Avatar m tn Rare anyone to be too sensitive to restasis. My wife and I have been on restasis for many years with fabulous results. restasis works with both forms of dry eyes. Many people have stinging with restasis for several weeks which can be helped by using steroid drops for a couple of weeks. there is a new medication that works like restasis called Xidra it is supposed to kick in faster (3-4 months) than restasis (4-6 months) but has not been shown to be better than restasis and is more costly.
Avatar f tn Refresh PM gel, Systane Ultra lubricating drops and Restasis. Optimologist prescribed Restasis 6 weeks ago. Still not sure why eyes are red all of the time. Suggested allergy testing, which I have scheduled now. Optomologist says that he still isn't sure what is going on and wants to put plugs in my eyes. My eyes now feel better than they have for quite awhile but still red like no sleep (I get 8 hrs daily) I have 3 questions; 1. can plugs be used with Restasis?
Avatar n tn I prescribe Restasis and I use Restasis. I am not familiar with a blue vial holder. I Googled the term and nothing comes up so I don't know anything about it.
Avatar m tn I have a moderate to serious dry eye. I am going to start my Restasis today and I know that I will not see the result till 2 months or more from now. I am also planning for a cataract surgery in 1 to 2 months. I also foresee that I will use some steroid or antibotics for a few weeks after the surgery. Do I need to stop Restasis once I start the steroid ?
Avatar m tn Can I put temporary plug and try Restasis at the same time as Restasis takes quite a long time to kick in.
Avatar f tn I have not seen this in my Restasis patients. Dr. O.
427279 tn?1210919821 but eyes have changed first time in years ...and he said i had extremely dry eyes....wants me to take restasis but kept saying "you may not think it's working for you but it will be just keep using it...hmmmmmm....so anyway all is good just so tired dont want to move...
