Restasis how long to work

Common Questions and Answers about Restasis how long to work

restasis

Avatar m tn Note it takes 4-6 months for Restasis to kick in and work fully. There are too other drops that are in this family. Xiidra, which I do not use after having poor results and may complaints from my patients about stinging, burning and not being effective.
Avatar f tn I had cataract surgery 7 weeks ago. My distance with the crystalens is better, but like looking through vaseline. My up close vision and monitor distance is much worse than it was before and I'm seeing double. My surgeon says it can take 2-3 months to come into focus. I'm very concerned and quite anxious. I work on a computer 8 hours a day and don't want to pay for my glasses to be upgraded twice. Any suggestions ?
Avatar f tn Hi. I've been having trouble with dry eyes these last 2 months but have just realized how bad the fluorescent lighting is at work. I grade papers all day long under these lights. I'm not on the computer except to maybe print 1 or 2 things off. My eyes ALWAYS start to bother me around 1:00pm. Shopping at Walmart has always been a problem too. Just the wind from walking down the aisles makes it hard for me. It's very embarrassing.
184420 tn?1326739808 Restasis takes about 3 months of use before it actually works, thats where the Lotemax kicks in-it is a steroid that helps the Restasis get to work faster. No more problems for me.Chronic Dry Eyes will do this to you.I was miserable with mine.
Avatar f tn I am getting tired already tho and having back/ hip pain so hoping I can last that long at work. Work as long as I your body will let you.
Avatar f tn did your floaters go away when you stopped restasis? if they go away how long did they last ?
Avatar f tn I dont know honestly I use saline mostly but then I wear contacts and have to stick to things that work with them. I just can't believe they'd put alcohol in things you put in your eyes!
Avatar f tn I will be making an appointment this week. I am thinking I have become allergic to Restasis. Do you have itchy eyes? And how long did you use it before noticing problems? Please post if you learn more about this.
Avatar n tn I have to wear contacts, Im a very active person and its annoying to always have to wear my glasses. Oh, and by the way, I took Accutane a few years ago, maybe thats what caused it? Because I don't remember any problems before that. The doctor says no, though, cause it had to have gone away.
Avatar n tn a relative went thru lens operation that failed (eventually it was removed) , her eyes are very dry and she supers acute pain. any ideas how to solve the dryness / reduce the pain?
Avatar n tn Some contacts work better than others with dry eyes. You might try switching to a different type/brand. Everyone's different, but 1-day Acuvue moist lenses worked well for me.
Avatar f tn It may take some time for restasis to kick in (2 or 3 months.) Oral flax and fish oil supplements may help you to produce a better tear film. You might want to consider non-dissolving plugs. Reduce computer work time, avoid smoke, ceiling fans, and medications that worsen dry eyes. This would be a good start for treatment if indeed dry eyes are the real problem here. It is a chronic problem and you can just try to make it better, not cure it.
Avatar f tn Go to my website and scroll through the blog posts and read the updated article on dry eyes. Restasis is wonderful but will take 3-6 months to begin to work. Be sure you use the vials not the multi-drop bottle which is hugely more expensive.
Avatar n tn You can try using a mild steroid drops for the first few weeks of treatment to ease of transition. Restasis does have pretty good science behind it and decent results can be obtained after 6 or 12 months of continuous treatment. Talk to your ophthalmolgist about restarting treatment. Also ask if the plugs are still in and consider getting new ones if needed. Try adding oral omega 3 fish oil and flax seed oil and modify lifestyle to reduce reading and computer work some.
Avatar f tn ve recently posted that I just recently started Restasis, but my question is will the red eyes start getting better as the Restasis starts to work. Does dry eyes cause them to be red.......... I mean they are not horribly red, but are somewhat irritated. Will my eyes be like this always or will they get better eventually. My eye Dr. said they're not too bad, but I know that this is not they way they were before.
Avatar f tn WILL the Restasis help with the sensitivity to the lighting and computers? I have heard of Melanin tint glasses. Do those help or will the Restasis "eventually" take care of this? Thank you.
Avatar m tn Get in to see the glaucoma specialist. Also read about Restasis, it takes about 6 months to start to work so its easy to get discouraged. Also often stings and burns for a couple of weeks. However if you have dry inflamed eyes its great.
Avatar n tn In any caes their are plenty of options to help- Fish oil - Restasis - many many more and dozens of drops to try . DO NOT ACCEPT CONSTANT BURNING AND IRRATATION .
Avatar f tn i had cataract sursery 9 months ago, have been noticing poorer vision, was diagnosed with 'dry eyes'. Have been using Restasis for two weeks now, eyes seem irritated, are red, I need to blink a lot. Is this normal? Will this go away if I have to use this product for the rest of my life? How is this helping me?
Avatar n tn After taking restasis for over a year and my dry eyes was not getting better the Dr. gave me lotemax but said only use that. Now after using it for 2 months only, he said I shouldn't have stopped the restasis. Now I am really annoyed.....have I lost what improvement I may have gained with the restasis having stopped it for two months? Should I be seeing a opthomologist rather than a Dr. of Optometry???
Avatar m tn I forget to ask one more question. Is it normal only blocking one eye ?
