Just by the comments on this website and in general Zoloft is probably the best of the ssris for anxiety. Prozac tends to be stimulating, so it is generally not as good, but when it works it's great because it has the least problems with stopping. Effexor is very stimulating, as it also targets adrenalin, so it's not usually prescribed for primary anxiety. It's a very hard drug to stop taking, so taper off slowly.
I also have two one milligram Xanax and one ambien. I also have a few Prozac which I have never taken Prozac but was wondering what everyone who had expierence with Prozac thought about using Prozac to combat withdrawal or symptoms of post acute withdrawal? well i am 20 year old male i had depression before due to smoking marijuana once only, that lead to anxiety i've had anxiety attack/panic attack about 5 weeks ago i was on paxil it didnt go well for me. I've been prescribed for prozac day time & elavil at night.
Never considered effexor xr/venlafaxine as i was so put off with the reviews of weight gain and the awful discontinuation symptoms. Prozac was great but major weight gain in two months.
i need one that works without serious side effects and no weight gain.
Setraline would be perfect if it wasn't causing heart probs.

Im an 18 year old girl. I was on prozac for maybe a week, only 20 mgs but i was taking it every day and it was not prescribed to me, it was my moms old prescription so i guess that was a very stupid decision. I smoked a tiny bit of pot on it, literally one bong hit, and about an hr later I started having heart palps and tremors- major anxiety. It was soo bad i couldnt even breathe. I was sweating and shaking uncontrollably. Ever since that I have just not been quite right.
