I was sober off everything during the first 3 months of pregnancy. Lately, I have been abusing 1000 mg vicodin and I take about 3 a day. I am in pain, but it has turned into recreational and possibly physical addiction. I also take an occasional xanax as well. Have I hurt any aspect of the baby's development. I feel like I hate myself and I need help. I'm also on 60 mg of prozac a day, which the doctor told me was ok, and he monitors my meds.
I recently got off Vicodin on January 2nd. It became addictive. I've been on Xanax for 10 years and I am tapering. I'm taking 1-1/2 mg. per day and I started taking Prozac at 10 mg. per day a week ago. I am experiencing racing thoughts, discomfort with my heart beating, clammy, smoky taste in my mouth after sleeping, horrible Anxiety buzz (Which begins with the racing thoughts), sore temple, tightness in head.
I am taking 200mg Lyrica daily, plus 20mg Prozac, and Vicodin 5/500 as needed. I am miserable today - hurt all over I have a dr appt tomorrow morning but today is still long. I'm out of Vicodin and I have had a few 8 mg Dilaudid hanging around for awhile because a friend gave them to me. Has anyone had this combination of drugs? I need something but I am afraid the Lyrica and Prozac might interact with Dilaudid. Has anyone used Dilaudid to manage Fibro pain?
21 female ive been taking vicodin unperscribed for about 2-3 years...theyre just so easy to find..sometimes im not even looking for them and i come across them and even if i resist the temptation at first i already kno where they are so i end up goin back n getting them..none of my friends know this about me and no one in my family knows this about me but I am high all the time and I don't like it anymore. I just want to be sober and I've already forgotten how that feels..
It has crippled me physically and mentally. I seen a psychiatrist on Monday which started me on 20mg Prozac and .5 mg klonipin. It is now wed and I feel much better than I did Saturday and Sunday. This is the hardest thing (depression) I have had to overcome in my life. Quitting Vicodin was a cake walk.
I will say this. I feel like the corner has been turned. I feel like the worse is over. I am just thankful for all my family and friends of MedHelp that have spent time praying for me.
Been to several different therapists and taken every anti-depressant on the market. The only time I have been happy is when I take vicodin. There I said it. I know the damage this can do but it is the only time I feel normal. There is pain and that is part of the reason I started on this medication. I have been taking prozac for many years and it never has done any of the symtoms of depression completelu away. I do not care that vicodin is a narcotic, I can laugh and feel good about living.
I am on 60mg of Prozac for anxiety. (I was before I got addicted to pain killers and then I stopped taking in and starting numbing myself with vicodin.) Anyway I figure that should be taking care of a lot of my anxiety and its not, and I am so tired all of the time, because I can't sleep at night. Please help.
I have been tired my whole life. Low-grade chronic depression. So I found tha tthe vicodin and the prozac were the perfect combo- no pain plus i felt really good. better than ever. then i ran out of the vicodin and realized i was addicted to it because i immediately became very depressed, could not sleep, don't care about anything, etc etc. It has been two days. My main problems are depression and no sleep. No sweats or jitters or anything. I have zero motivation.
I've been taking 0.25mg of Ativan four times a day for about 6 weeks for anxiety. I haven't taken any for 4 days and feels really anxious and am having trouble sleeping. I also take Vicodin 5/500 1/2 tab 2-4 times a day. I was also taking that for anxiety. I'm still taking the Vicodin hoping that it will help me get off Ativan. I'm really scared by all the stuff I've read about Ativan and wish I'd never started it.I guess my question is: Will I feel better soon?
Bless you all for the encouragement. I badly need it. I knew I was addicted almost immediately and just didn't care. I think the first time I took Vicodin I thought "This is going to be a problem." I had done plenty of recreational drugs and they never came close to a problem for me. I just finally found my drug. I'm also taking prozac - will that help? How do I take the first step?
I am able to live with my attacks (which can get really bad at times) and I actually have a fear of taking meds. I think the only thing I will take is a child's dose of tylenol only when I have a fever or migrane. I have discovered that taking Vitamin B Complex capsules have helped reduce my stress and anxiety levels. Also, I still love taking Flinstone vitamins, on top of the vit B complex. I feel great when I don't miss out in taking one a day.
The Dr said this would go away once the prozac fully kicked in , but its been a month and nothing. I know the prozac is helping but i have ups and downs all day. If I sit at home by myself for an hr or two i will feel depression and or anxiety. I guess my question is..... do you think that I should request a higher mg of prozac (20) or keep giving the 10mg pills a try? I hate having to try so hard to not feel depressed.
Hi i'm on Prozac and trazodone if you start on a low dose of trazodone it shouldn't be an issue and there really is no interaction with trazodone and Prozac because I've been on trazodone and Prozac for years and I've never had a problem you just have to take it like maybe you're better off just taking half a tablet or something
First of all, you shouldn't just stop taking antidepressants without discussing it with your doctor. Fortunately, you weren't on the Prozac long enough and you were at a very low dose, so you didn't experience the nasty effects of going cold turkey off these types of meds.
Prozac can take anywhere from 4-6 weeks to reach "steady state" in your body. That is the point at which it will begin to help you.
I have been on and off prozac for 4 years and i now am experiencing heartburn. I take 20mg at night because it makes me dizzy but i dont get the heartburn until the afternoon the next day. I was wondering is it safe to take ranitidine 150mg effervescent? I took it all the time when needed before being back on prozac and it works i was wondering does it cause any side affect?
Thank you for your response and advice. What were you addicted to and how many a day etc. I was taking 2 a day 5mg vicodin for 9 1/2 months for my breast pain. I have cysts in breasts that make my chest feel like it was on fire. I also had a surgery on them in 2005 it was that bad. When the pain came back last year i couldn't bear the thought of going through that again so i called my doctor for something for the pain. I had no idea what i was getting into.

I posted in the other forum (pregnancy) about being put on prozac 10 mg. I have taken your great advice and am doing yoga and breathing exercises to deal with my mild anxiety instead. But heres my question to put my mind at ease. I took the prozac at 28 weeks for about a week. It wasnt right for me and I was too worried I was doing harm to the baby. After my 3 miscarriages last year I am always worried now.
got a new dr in may cause old one retired he had me try to up prozac and trouble with that so his asso. had me totally stop the prozac and go on wellbutrin sr 150am and pm,,,,after a week i was having prozac withdrawals so back on prozac i went and still on wellbutrin to be honest i dont know if my depression is something else cause neither brought me up or were stimulating..my new dt thinks i have slight add..anywayas i have been tapering off the prozac 10 mg a week per dr...
yesterday I went dr for anxiety and not sleeping at night. told her about my husband had been on Xanax for about 3 yrs and I have no in, so when my sleeplessness started , and anxiety I took one of his Xanax at times and some times I would have to take 2mg so she put me on 10 mg of prazac and 1mg of Xanax . my question is I scared to death of the anti-depressant because I have heard good people doing bad things on them I told her I was afraid of them but she insisted I take both.
I was terrified to take anything else, but eventually gave in to Prozac. Slowly, but surely, I recovered and am now better than I had been in years. I've been taking Prozac since 2003 and am able to manage my dose based on how I'm feeling.
Medication like Ativan can actually make some people worse and that's what happened to me. I believe it depressed my central nervous system so that I was a perfect candidate to experience clinical depression.
