Hi, I have been having hypoglycemic-like symptoms the past month or so. My blood sugar is SOMETIMES oddly low, and other times normal. The doctors still don't know what's wrong, but after doing some research I personally think it might be connected to me not taking Prozac anymore. I've been having awful headaches and migraines (especially after just one glass of alcohol), shakiness, fatigue, lower immune system, nausea occasionally, and heart palpitations randomly.
Since adding wellbutrin on june 10th to my prozac which i am now up to 50 mg and xanax and adderall i have devolped a tummy...its fat i have never had this problem before Im still feeling depressed but functioning...dont see my dr for 3 months,i would like to just go off meds,im taking a vitamin b cpmplex now and emergenc hoping the vitamins will help....
I was on Prozac for over 10 years with great results. When I started having headaches again, the first the Dr flew to was the Prozac and said I had been on it too long and it was not effective any longer. Since that time, it's been 6 months of daily headaches and countless medications and nothing has completely stopped them. At this time I started out with Cymbalta 30 mg for 6 weeks and am now up to 60mg daily and I can notice a slight improvement.
So it may or may not be your medication. At first on Prozac it was a little hard to fall asleep and stay asleep, and my mouth was always dry, but it goes away after a couple of weeks. My fiance's mother takes 20mg of Prozac and gets a little nauseus and drowsy for a while, so it could be. You should talk with your doctor to see, maybe you just need to switch your medication.
P.S. My anxiety made me worry that every little thing going on with me was the medication screwing with me.
My dr and even someone on this post told me that prozac is the most stimulating antideporessant,,,well i have been on it since march 3 at 20 mg then dr upped it on the 28th to 40 mg and im not noticing no stimulation....im still deprressed and scared noe im getting headaches,i take xanax to....and as i mentioned on another post he might add an anphentimine to my mixture..he is a pshy....is prozc just not had time to work or does it not energize all people?
I have been on both citalopram and prozac but citalopram was longterm weight gain, dry mouth and headaches and prozac major short term weight gain. Came of prozac for that reason after only a few months and wonder if it would've settled with time, or go back to the one i was on for 12 years but had some side effects including weight gain.
Doc says my last option is mirtazapine but it is also an appetite stimulator.
I tried St John Wort and I felt better (I also saw my doctor for cholesterol and EKG for my chest and stomach pain at the same time as starting the medicine, all came back great). After a few weeks it came back so I got on Prozac (day 8) and wow, so far so bad. After reading a lot of forums, I am finding that the increased anxiety, terrible headaches, loss of appetite and the wired, jittery, trembling is normal for a few weeks until it gets into your system. I will stick it out.
TH~ You MIGHT want to switch to something else. See what the doctor says. The headache from Prozac doesn't seem to go away with longterm use. I've always thought Prozac was a bit more harsh than the others and recently I've read that it's not as useful
since it went generic. It's lost some of it's efficacy,apparently. But,hey,don't go by me:

m experiencing headaches, fatigue, anxieity and am crying constantly and feeling like the future is bleak. From complete control to this???. So I went back into the doctor's office and this time I saw the nurse practiononer and SHE told me that paxil is very difficult to get off of and has tons of side effects as you try to go off of it and that it should have been tapered off of more slowly. She also said that dosage of the prozac was an entry level dose.
I don't know what i am going through i don't know what this is.
well i am 20 year old male i had depression before due to smoking marijuana once only, that lead to anxiety i've had anxiety attack/panic attack about 5 weeks ago i was on paxil it didnt go well for me. I've been prescribed for prozac day time & elavil at night.
i took 10 adderalls 20 mg tabs in the last 48 hours and i am experiencing the follwing things and i need to know why and what it means.....burning sores in my mouth and on my tongue..inside of nose is burning..skin burning sensations all over..blistered/swollen lips..feelings of crackling in ears,mouth,neck,and red marks rashes on face and neck...i know its a long list but i need someone to tell me if this means im overdosing or what...what do these things mean???
It was prescribed for headaches and so far its been great. Ive lost 2 lbs. already. It controls appetite etc and keeps you from getting headaches but the sideffects are terrible. I take it right before bed and wake up feeling ok although the first few days felt very droggy. My neurologist wants to take me off it and i am refusing.
You may have some start up side effects at first like a little nausea and headaches but those side effects usually go away in a few days.
Most DRs want to give these meds about 6 weeks to see if they're helping.You can feel much better before then though. If you would happen to have any bothersome side effects there are several other different meds to try.
Anti-depressants may be prescribed and over-the-counter non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) may help provide relief. Stress management is important in treating both headaches and depression. Complementary and alternative methods such as biofeedback and yoga as well as counseling may also help. Have this checked by your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
m not sure if my side effects were from the Prozac still in my system or if was the Lexapro- or combo of both!! But I did experience headaches for awhile. I stuck it out and the headaches did go away- I would at times take a .5mg Xanax when my head was hurting (especially at night) and that seemed to help loosen the grip on my head! I hardly need to take any xanax which is good cause I think the Lexapro is finally regulated.
Wellbutrin, Cymbalta and Seroquel. My doctor took me off of all 3 and put me on Prozac. I just thought it was strange that the doctor did not start me on a smaller dosage first and work me up. I did call the doctor today and ask that they lower my dosage so I'm starting on 20 mg tomorrow. I sure hope that helps.
as i grow, and move on with life and times. i ve been only on the lexapro, nothing else... i also get headaches and migranes often with stress and with that pain in the head my thoughts speed up.. and once the headache is gone, my mood is better... have u had any of that? i want to get out of teh habit of depending on the medication because its only become a habit now, and i really odnt believ i need it any longer.
why would my dr put me on it knowing the xanax would affect it when he prescibed the xanax and prozac/...and i drank 6 non alkie beers the other night and felt like i got a buzz that is odd i have drank the stuff for 2 1/2 years with no effect..pharmmist said it might be that im on higher dose of xanx then i was the ativan.......or it was in my head a botttle has less thn 0.5 percent alchol by volume......
