Ok been on pain meds for over 15 years I am now on zomorph, oramorph, pregabiline, amitriptyline,propranolol sertraline + solpidol, tramidol also like a sniff of cocaine too much to be honest.
My pain is constaint never leaves me alone 24/7.
Would like not to be so dependant but cant see a way out effercts everything work marrage life

Having said this, in younger adults such as yourself, tolerance to many of the side effects develop (after you have taken the medication for a few weeks, the side effects lessen).
Klonopin can certainly be addictive, and you can develop tolerance to it. Its main side effects are sedation (which improves with time) and in some people temporary (reversible) memory loss.
Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up.
I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms?
I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug?

You are absolutely right about the propranolol helping with the physical symptoms and if you only have the physical symptoms, then sometimes a doctor will prescribe it alone. Reason being that if the physical symptoms go away, then the anxiety does too. (Propranolol is prescribed for people who have essential tremor. Some times these people who have the tremor become anxious because of it. Once the tremor is gone, generally by taking the beta blocker, then the anxiety goes too.
Once I was diagnosed, I was relief, but my anxiety and sleeplessness didn’t go away. I was on 10MG Propranolol as needed basis. However, to make the anxiety go away, I must take it three times a day. About 18 days into the Methimazole, I started to take only one or two 10MG Propranolol. I think I may not need to take it today or even just one. I have heard that Propranolol, beta blocker, can also create insomnia.
However, I still can’t sleep.
4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.

When did you start taking Propranolol 20 mg? Side effects of propranolol include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, depression, memory loss, fever, lightheadedness, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, cold extremities, sore throat, and shortness of breath( ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/propranolol/page2.htm). It is possible that your symptoms are related to the medication you are taking.
I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences.

Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day.
For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg.
I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime.
Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime?

i am 28 years of age,i had a problem of trembling my fingers of both hand,specialy when i write it was more difficult,then i consulted a neurologist so he checked me and prescribed me propranolol 20 ml to take 3times a day but i was affraid to take 3times but i took that only once a day as i was asked by someone if i continue that much i will have to use it forever.when i take that i feel much better.
If any one can help answer my question, I would be so grateful. I have been hospitalized in the ER three times in the past two weeks for bradycardia. All this suddenly started happening in the last two weeks. I start to feel weak, have a seizure, this last time, I fell down on the kitchen floor and hit my head pretty good. I have been on MS Contin,and Percocet for about 3 years,and over that time I have gotten increases to where I am now which is 300MGs MS Contin and 60MGs percocet.My question is,if I take my meds as directed can I keep my tolerance where it is?Or is there a way to keep it from going up?Maybe taking a little less once in a while? I don't want to go any higher on the dosage,what I am on now makes certain activities difficult as it is.Thanks for any help.
At least once a year we lose control and have to stop because of the tolerance increase. 10 days ago we both stopped taking between 4-5 40mg OC per day. Kratom is the easiest way to stop, and people in other countries have used it for centuries. It's legal, and it works, and it's the Creators gift to heroine addicts. Look it up on U-Tube. Tastes like mud but it makes you feel normal without any withdrawal symptoms. I gotta go so good luck bro, may Yahweh be with you.
This past weekend we were discussing (not arguing) and the topic of tolerance came up. I said that these pills should never have been given for long term pain management because there is no way to help with the tolerance and the constant need to have more to achieve the same level of pain management. He says that is NOT true.
He believes that if it is truly only being used for pain and not for ANY kind of high then you dont build up a tolerance.
