Avatar f tn I do have high blood pressure and asthma, (i take Lisinopril and Albuterol for those). My BP has still been running high, although I was just switched to Lisinopril from Propranolol 4 days ago. Should I go to the ER?
Avatar n tn So i was recently given propranolol 4x10mg daily for anxiety and was wondering if i would experience weight gain on such a low dose? I would also like to lose weight, but with me not being able to get my heart in target zone, im wondering will i find it hard to lose weight? Also how safe is exercising/weight lifting on this medication. Feels really weird that my heart does not pound when running!
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
220028 tn?1301336634 If you measured the BP while you actually were exercising, I bet your BP would be much higher. When you suddenly stop running, blood are pooling up in the veins, which are dilated due to increased blood flow and temperature. You need muscle force to push blood back through veins, and when that suddenly stops, your blood pressure will, and should, fall. If I measure my HR right after I stop running, it actually increases to compensate for this.

Avatar n tn Almost 8 years ago I was diagnosed with high blood pressure. I've been taking beta blockers ever since. Most of the time even with the beta blockers, my blood pressure and heart rate would run high. 140/90 range with the beta blocker even higher without. Well now, for the past 2 weeks or so, it has been running low. I've been taking less and less of my beta blocker (propranolol) over the past few days, my usual dose is 20 mg twice a day.
612551 tn?1450022175 I have used Toprol, Metoprolol (longest, several years) and now Atenolol for the past year. I moved from Toprolol and Slow Release beta blockers to generic to lower cost. I was looking at Propranolol which I see is a "non-selective" beta blocker, and it may therefore have an unwanted sleep disturbance side-effect. Yet, it is prescribed, I read, to lower nightmare problems by lowering the higher heart rate and adrenalin associated with nightmares. ..
Avatar f tn 4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PSVTs 5 years ago at age 35. I take 10mg of propranolol daily and it has worked just fine to keep the arrhythmia at bay. Lately I have been trying to run a little faster when I exercise, and I am wondering if a medication adjustment might be in order. I am not trying to do anything crazy; I just want to run a 5K in less than 30 minutes. About 20 minutes in, my heartrate gets to the high 170s.
Avatar m tn Propranolol is not on the list of contraindicated drugs for Harvoni. Here is the list: http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/ledipasvir-sofosbuvir,harvoni-index.
Avatar f tn When did you start taking Propranolol 20 mg? Side effects of propranolol include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, depression, memory loss, fever, lightheadedness, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, cold extremities, sore throat, and shortness of breath( ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/propranolol/page2.htm). It is possible that your symptoms are related to the medication you are taking.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Avatar n tn Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences. We do have a lot of trials and reviews exploring the combination. There is no conclusive evidence which allows us to deem this combination unacceptable.
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg. I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime. Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime? Thank you.
Avatar f tn t help noticing it. I have been taking Propranolol 10mg as needed for about a year for anxiety and racing pulse due to anxiety, it helps somewhat. But for the last couple weeks I get these random bouts of very unpleasant sensation in my chest followed by my heart racing immensely in the span of a few seconds. Like I will be sitting or at rest and get up and it will just race. Usually I chew on a Xanax or Propranolol and that gets it under control somewhat but it's still scary.
11770072 tn?1420987298 When I wake up in the morning, I have headache. When I get up, the headache becomes worse and clear liquid starts running from my left nostril. Runs or drips from left nostril when standing and sitting. Runs down my throat when I'm laying down. I have stabbing pain shooting in back of my eye balls. The left side of my face is tingly. I have transient visual and left ear problems. When I'm standing or walking, sometimes my left ears acts weird.

Avatar f tn If any one can help answer my question, I would be so grateful. I have been hospitalized in the ER three times in the past two weeks for bradycardia. All this suddenly started happening in the last two weeks. I start to feel weak, have a seizure, this last time, I fell down on the kitchen floor and hit my head pretty good. I am a 28 yr old female who has been on propranol for almost 4 years. I have a at home blood pressure monitor, that also checks my pulse and I do it religiously.

1243620 tn?1274790697 Does anyone take propranolol for anxiety and panic attacks? I've had crippling anxiety for my whole life. Antidepressants increase it to the point where I'm in such a state I almost pass out from hypervenitlating. I've heard propranolol is good for this, and is effective.
Avatar f tn I have been able to walk at a brisk pace again also. I know this could be short lived but I am enjoying it and running with it. Just wanted to share for those who are down right now and need some hope. It seems like I go in and out of these good spells every other month but the good stretches are getting longer each time it happens. Plus I am only going to acupuncture now every 3 or 4 weeks and am mainly taking herbs for my issues.
