Avatar n tn Also, if you notice any changes in your blood pressure, pulse or other symptoms related to enhanced action of Propranolol, you can always adjust the dose to achieve the best possible outcome (again, with your psychiatrist's review). I hope that helps with the first part of your question. Sertraline can be taken any time of the day provided you take it the same time each day. Similarly, you can take Clonazepam at fixed time of the day.
Avatar f tn t work for someone, it will feel better to be on something else or maybe nothing rather than have ill effects of the medication. I have taken so much propranolol over the last 15 years, I just call it Pez because it seems to have that much effect anymore. I have no side effects from it either but should talk to provider about other options instead of adding major mood swings to the problems that are already at hand.
Avatar m tn Thank you so much for your help - we have just read up on CVS and it does hit alot of the markers. We have finally got a course of action we might be able to look at. Your our hero.
Avatar n tn Is your doctor aware of the Propranolol use? Sometimes when see different doctors, communication of what all we are on doesn't happen as it should. So, that's first. That the doctor is aware of all meds you currently take both prescribed and OTC. SSRI's can be used with beta blockers generally. You will find patients on both without issues.

Avatar m tn m interested in hearing from anybody who has had similar symptoms, or a similar course of action before getting a diagnosis. I have never really heard of tinnitis or vertigo being symptoms of MS, and those are the main reasons I even started pursuing medical help to begin with. The doctors have ruled out some explanations (like the acoustic neuroma), but there are still other possibilities on the table (Meniere's disease, or even high blood pressure for example).
Avatar n tn It kind of sounds like a form of Action tremors, but I have to agree with mkh9.
Avatar f tn My daughter (6 years old) was diagnosed the beginning of June with Graves. Since then we've been on Methimazole. We started with Atenolol but 3 weeks into it was put on Propranolol 4 times a day to get her heart rate under control. We were told that in a couple of weeks if her numbers weren't down we'd be doing RAI. Next visit the numbers had moved T3 was down from 15.9 to 7.1. We were happy to finally see progress.
1828749 tn?1317778518 Do NOT change your meds based on this answer!!!!!!! Why did the doctor change your meds? SVT and IST are two very different conditions. I think a minimum requirement before treating something is to verify the diagnosis, just like a legal judgement is required before putting someone in jail. Also, propranolol and verapamil are very different meds.
Avatar m tn The onset of action ranges from 45 minutes - 1 ½ hours, and the duration of action is six hours. Diazepam carries a bi-phasic half-life of 20-50 hours (for Diazepam), and 30-200 hours (for Desmethyldiazepam). Valium is indicated for the long-term management of generalized anxiety and tension-anxiety. Tolerance will not develop to the anxiolytic property of Diazepam, although tolerance will develop to the sedative/hypnotic property.
Avatar m tn A partial µ-opioid receptor agonist, its mixed agonist/antagonist activity affords it a lower risk of dependence and abuse than full µ agonists like morphine. Meptazinol exhibits not only a short onset of action, but also a shorter duration of action relative to other opioids such as morphine, pentazocine, or buprenorphine.
Avatar f tn Hello and welcome to the forum. Thanks for your question. It is always wise when you have an issue that you feel or wonder if it might be heart related to visit your doctor to be examined and discuss. That's the prudent course of action to take. However, heart fluttery feelings are typically medically called palpitations. They are fairly common. They have triggers and it usually is something like stress. Are you under a bit of stress? You also mention Inderal which is a beta blocker.
Avatar f tn I still do get headaches, but they are less frequent and of a markedly lower intensity when I do get them. Instead of 4-5 headaches a week, half of which are of medium intensity, I get about 2 headaches a week which are low intensity. In other words, I can stand it even if the OTC pain reliever doesn't do much. I'm still at a modest dose and can't go up any further.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
4155003 tn?1351614311 It's always better to taper under the guidance of a physician. 12 weeks isn't very long, but it's still better to do it the right way, to avoid issues like rebound hypertension, which can occur coming off a beta blocker. My advice to you is get in front of your doc, explain where you're at, and see what he/she says. Very possibly, you may be told just to stop taking them completely at this point.
Avatar f tn What is the onset of action after taking a dose of the immunoglobulin.

Avatar f tn It is most often used to treat hypertension, agina, and abnormal heart rhythms but it is also helpful in controlling the fast heart rate and other symptoms of an overactive thyroid gland. Propranolol also helps to reduce the palpitations, sweating, and tremor of severe anxiety and is also used to prevent migrane headaches. STOPPING THE DRUG Do not stop the drug without consulting your doctor. Abrupt cessation ( suddenly stopping the drug) may lead to worsening of the underlying condition.

Avatar f tn After he/she takes the x-ray, they will go over them to determine what plan of action to take. After a few treatments, you should start to feel better.
