Avatar n tn I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.
Avatar f tn A sudden racing pulse out of nowhere most likely has absolutely nothing to do with anxiety. I agree that it can make you anxious once it starts. It sounds like you are experiencing episodes of Supraventricular Tachycardia or SVT or as some refer to it, PSVT. This cardiac anomaly is an electrical issue with your heart rather than a structural. People in superb physical shape with robust hearts can develop this electrical problem.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol, a beta blocker, for akathisia and anxiety. It works very well for anxiety. I think you may be having break-through depression and anxiety meaning it is working in spite of the drugs, not because of the drugs.
1243620 tn?1274790697 Does anyone take propranolol for anxiety and panic attacks? I've had crippling anxiety for my whole life. Antidepressants increase it to the point where I'm in such a state I almost pass out from hypervenitlating. I've heard propranolol is good for this, and is effective.
Avatar f tn ve been taking Xanax as needed for awhile which helps the anxiety and also just recently stopped Propranolol and started Metroprolol. I also have obsessive negative thoughts about health problems that probably don't exist. My GP prescribed me 10mg Lexapro to take daily. But I'm scared to take it because I've heard so many horror stories about ssri's. The beta blocker helps my physical anxiety symptoms but the avoidance, lack of motivation, & anxiety are still there.
Avatar n tn Am on 60mg of Propranolol and Lexapro (for the anxiety) with occasional Xanax thrown in for good measure. My concern...everyone else who has these seem to describe them as flips, skips, flops, bloops, etc. Mine feel like a muscle squeeze in the center of my chest. Just one quick squeeze...someetimes soft, sometimes will stop me dead in my tracks checking my pulse to make sure I'm still alive. Does anyone else describe their symptoms the way I do?
Avatar f tn I just recently started taking lexapro 10mg for my anxiety attacks, For some reason i cannot sleep at all! I go to bed early because i am so tired and toss and turn all night until 7 8 in the morning. Any one else have the same problems? I even tried taking xanax once and it did nothing.
Avatar f tn I was wondering if anyone had any recommendations for a good anxiety drug other than Paxil, Effexor or Lexapro. I was on Paxil for years and it worked well for me but my doctor switched me to Lexapro which made me extremely sick as did Effexor. Anyway, now I am about to go back on Paxil because it was the only drug that really worked for me and didn't make me sick but I have one problem.
Avatar m tn I have tried prozac, lexapro, zoloft, and wellbutrin. They did absolutely nothing for my social anxiety disorder. There's no guarantee nardil will work either, but the literature suggests it is the best medication for my disorder. I'm too afraid to take the pill form, but would gladly take it injected.
Avatar m tn Hi, I'm dealing with tachycardia arrhytmia since more than 2 years now. My Cardilogist at first said it was dysautonomia and POTS and blame also my severe anxiety and was put on a beta blocker, propranolol 20 mg day. At first it was working on to stop the tachycardia but with time the effect wear off and had to increase my dose and then it was lowering too much my blood pressure so my Cardiologist switch me on another beta blocker...
Avatar n tn He is virtually non-verbal. Daily he takes 6 mg of Lorazepam, 100 mg Propranolol, 500 mg Depakote, 175 mg Seroquel, 750 mg Keppra, 150 mg Trazadone, 20 mg Lexapro. We offer water constantly but he will only drink 6-8 oz with each meal and an additional 2-4 oz twice daily. He can go as long at 36-42 hours without urinating but does not seem to be uncomfortable. When asked if he needs to use the bathroom he will shake his head no and refuse to go.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
Avatar f tn 4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar m tn Propranolol is not on the list of contraindicated drugs for Harvoni. Here is the list: http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/ledipasvir-sofosbuvir,harvoni-index.
Avatar f tn When did you start taking Propranolol 20 mg? Side effects of propranolol include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, depression, memory loss, fever, lightheadedness, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, cold extremities, sore throat, and shortness of breath( ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/propranolol/page2.htm). It is possible that your symptoms are related to the medication you are taking.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Avatar n tn Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences. We do have a lot of trials and reviews exploring the combination. There is no conclusive evidence which allows us to deem this combination unacceptable.
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
Avatar f tn I have been prescribed an increase in propranolol for migraines and anxiety.I was taking 120mg in the morning(extended release) and my doctor has raised the dose to 160mg. I had been taking the propranolol in the morning, but have read that the best time to take it is in the nighttime. Does anyone know what would be the best time morning or nighttime? Thank you.

Avatar f tn If any one can help answer my question, I would be so grateful. I have been hospitalized in the ER three times in the past two weeks for bradycardia. All this suddenly started happening in the last two weeks. I start to feel weak, have a seizure, this last time, I fell down on the kitchen floor and hit my head pretty good. I am a 28 yr old female who has been on propranol for almost 4 years. I have a at home blood pressure monitor, that also checks my pulse and I do it religiously.
