Wow -- I can't believe that his doctor would recommend waiting until the thyroid has "died off" to start treating the thyroid issue.
Do you have a copy of his latest lab report? It would be great if you could post the tests run, along with their results and the lab's reference ranges, since different labs use different ranges. If you don't have a copy of the lab report, it would be a good idea to get one.
sometimes Tenex is also used in conjunction with stimulants to help control ADHD symptoms....first I have heard of inderal (brand name for propranolol) being used but makes sense...Always to remember to ask your doctor any questions about your meds and health care...the only stupid questions are the ones not asked....Also beta blockers are also given to help control migraines to regulate fluxs in BP...not because too high but slight changes can trigger migraines...

Maybe you could visit a dermatologist/surgeon and dicuss treatment modalities.
I also do take the beta-blocker pindolol which has kept my BP at 125/70 for years. Shrink says very occasional and use of propranolol on top of pindolol should not be a problem but I still have concerns which I will run by my GP. I actually did receive a call from my pharmacy pointing out the risk of a low BP problem.
So...I am wondering if anyone has used propranolol or has an educated opinion on both its use in ED and possible interactions.
Is there anything more I can do to treat my hyperhidrosis more thoroughly? Do you know if botox injections for hyperhidrosis are limited to forheads/hands/feet/armpits? Or could I receive them in other places such as my nose or back?
Are there any more comprehensive solutions (ie. surgery) for hyperhidrosis? I'm willing to do almost anythign at this point - it really is paralyzing my life.
I'm looking for an answer to my dilemma. I have an AV fistula or AVM in femoral artery/vein. Probably congenital. 2 weeks ago I had 3 stents placed, but unfortunately that didn't provide lasting results. I did get 3 days relief from severe pelvic pain (due to vasculature congestion?) and the hyperhidrosis stopped as well. The pain and hyperhidrosis have returned and I'm awaiting another surgery.
I know propranolol is used for PTSD...but what should I ask for in the pharmacy and what is the dosage?
Are there any serious effect if taken without proper knowledge?
For the longest time ever I sweat profusely. I am a 17 year old male. It's not just my palms that sweat but also my feet (to the point where I can leave pools of water on a tile/wood floor that people mistake for "spilled water". I've been researching and found this type of swearing where you sweat all over your body when your asleep. This explains what I have BUT I'm awake when this happens.
Hi, Thank you for your question. Usually, propranolol (beta blocker) is suggested for prophylactic treatment of migraine. Acute or prompt treatment require over the counter pain killers and triptans. I used to take a slow-release Propranolol 80 mg every day, which caused severe tiredness and extreme fatigue, to the point that I was not able to think straight and sometimes could not even get out of bed. Apparently, Propranolol also inhibits the ability for you to burn fat, not to mention gastrointestinal issues. Depression is also significantly higher when taking Propranolol.
m taking the referred supplement for maybe around 2 months and despite not curing my axillary hyperhidrosis it helps me feeling calmer overall.
Sometimes, I will sweat around my armpits when it is cold out. This is not enough to cause dripping sweat, but it is enough to darken the armpit-area of my clothes and feel moist to touch. It started when I was 17, but actually went away for a couple of years and I have noticed it coming back. I would not consider this excessive sweat, just inappropriate sweat.
Using certain-dri has helped, but I would like to try and find a way to deal with this without things like that.
My daughter is 14 years old now, very active and battling a sever underarm odor. For a while I thought she was simply not doing a good job with her personal hygiene and would yell at her if I smelled her underarm odor. I take propranolol for my blood pressure and keeps my heart steady when a panic attack comes around. For my anxiety, the dr put me on celexa, propranolol, and Ativan. This combo usually works pretty well.

Thank for your input, but I do not have hyperhidrosis. I do not excessevly sweat during the day. Just when eating citric acid fruits, like lemons and oranges.
Its now to the point that i dont have a life,i am in the bed 90% of the time.Recently my sweat tasted really bitter on my lips for about a week.I cant even do the normal things each day with my hygiene.Im 46 years old and i cant live the rest of my life like this,im running out of hope.Is there any clinical trials or any thing that might help me?
Anyways due to having OCD i kept moving my feet around trying to get the blood circulating and kept this up for like 4 days straight til my ankles hurt and i had swelling. I stopped doing that thing but now the bottoms of my feet are sweaty.. and it isnt a lot, doesnt drip or even wrinkled looking. however it seems to stay slightly wet as long as my feet are down.. if i lay down with them elevated or with the soles up it doesnt do this...
