1374503 tn?1278719661 I have hand and arm tremors and have had them for about 3yrs now. I was put on Topmax 100 2xs a day and was doing fine. Now all of a sudden my hand tremors are coming back. My father and his mother both have the same tremors as I do. Without this medicine I cant lift a fork or spoon to my mouth without spilling what ever is on the fork or spoon off of it.
Avatar n tn s fingers were shaking a little bit. The last two days, though, my little finger on my left hand started shaking really badly for about 2-5 minutes. It only happens once a day. I'm really worried. Could it be anything serious? Is it possible that this tremor is caused by stress?
1258608 tn?1269552597 When I took Lithium I had major hand tremors. When I became toxic I had large muscle tremors that actually caused me to throw a cup of coffee.
Avatar f tn Use alcohol sparingly. Some people notice that their tremors improve for up to an hour after they drink alcohol, but drinking isn't a good solution for people with essential tremor. That's because tremors tend to worsen once the effects of alcohol wear off. What's more, larger amounts of alcohol eventually are needed to relieve tremors, which can lead to chronic alcoholism.
Avatar n tn What is the basis for saying the patient is euthyroid?
Avatar f tn I ve been prescribed Propranolol 40 mg 3x a day for hand tremors. Since the surgery I gained almost 20 lbs, now that I m on Propranolol...I ve gained an additional 10 lbs in 2 month. I"m at my wits end, 5ft & now 185 lbs. Although the Propranolol has helped my tremors, I cannot afford this weight gain. I work hard & yet find it IMPOSSIBLE to loss weight. I joined a Gym in January & work out 5 x a week.
Avatar n tn I hav consulted my doctor again and he told me to continue the propranolol tablets for 6months..He told me that the tremor is because of the excess secretion of some hormones..
Avatar n tn I have taken Propanolol and Effexor for a couple of years with no issues. I don't take the Propanolol for anxiety but for a tremor in my hand. Propanolol is used as an anxiety medication, cluster headaches, high BP and tremors like mine. I have taken it with just about every antidepressant out there with no issues. At one time I also took a BP medication with it due to high BP and with no problems. Although with lifestyle changes I was able to get off of the BP medication.
Avatar n tn so I have had tremors (or tics? not sure the difference) pretty much all my life. When I was young and up to about 3-4 years ago, I had a habit of always moving my head, to the side or nodding like "yes" position constantly. Sometimes I had throat habits where I make a noise through the throat (kind of hard to explain). about 3-4 years ago, I started receiving tremors in my arms. more like a spasms..
Avatar n tn I take propranolol for Tremors from taking Gabapentin. I wanted to know if propranolol has withdrawal symptoms because I am weening off all meds to see if my new symptoms were caused by all the meds. I want to add meds as needed for Fibromyalgia.
Avatar f tn i have had mris/ ct scans and a spinal tap results are cervical sponylosis, lumbar stenosis, tremors, and auto immune disorder, yet none of the specialists have referred me to anyone for treatment. only prescribed propranolol to help with the bobblehead and body tremors. Avatar n tn then the dr came in the room and gave me a prescription (propranolol / 2 x a day -for high blood pressure..I have low blood pressure) He said this would help the tremors and it seems to have helped cuz if I forget the dose the next day they are starting in again! He also mentioned that I should take a good B vitamin. Let me know what you did find out.
Avatar n tn I am a 38 year old who has been developing a tremor in my dominant hand for the past 18 months. I also have been taking imipramine for the last 18 years for a panic disorder. I tried reducing my imipramine dosage about the time the tremor began but then went back up to my original dose. The tremor continued and seems to be getting worse. Ive read that imipramine can cause tremors but find it hard to believe it would start after all these years.
5142668 tn?1364230745 I have been told the tremor and the fibro are not related but they both came on at about the same time in 2004 and have progressed. I take propranolol for the tremors, savella for the fibro along with numerous other meds to combat symptoms.Hope this gives you a little insight.
Avatar n tn It sounds like you have good doctors and they are doing lots of tests. When they don't find another cause for your tremors, then it's likely "essential tremors" diagnosis.. It can be a genetic condition, that's why you developed it young. The Propanolol is a drug used to calm the tremors. Perhaps your doctor didn't keep you on it long because of your age. All drugs have side effects and the doctor has to make a decision how much your tremors are bugging you.
Avatar f tn Could it be just essential tremors? Or is it more serious? Any info would be great. Thanks for your time in reading this.
Avatar n tn I have essesential tremors and take medication (Propranolol SA -160mg) for them. I also take Clonazepam - 0.5mg for anxiety and Prozac - 20mg to help with my nervousness and anxiety. These medications do help, but I have noticed over the past year that my shaky head syndrome and my shaky legs while driving has gotten worse. It is getting to the point that I am barely able to drive, and I have noticed that my head is shaking more than it used to.
Avatar m tn I've been taking 20mg of propranolol twice a day for about 2 weeks now and haven't noticed any improvement in my tremors. Does it have to build up in your system or should it start working instantly after the first time you take it, or maybe I'm on a low dose?
Avatar f tn t know what else to do or where else to turn. Also have done PT, heat, ice, cortizone shots. For the tremors/shakes they gave me propranolol (which is a high blood pressure med). If you have found anything out PLEASE let me know. I think they think it in my head!!
1413042 tn?1281770262 The endo has asked for another blood test in 2 weeks time. So, should I discontinue Propranolol or take it for 2 more weeks? Or try to wean off? Would there be any adverse effects if I stop it now? How much heart rate & BP is reduced by Propranolol? Will I get hypotension if I continue with Propranolol? Please suggest.
1258608 tn?1269552597 I have a hard time driving because I get tremors in my legs and feet. The tremors have gotten worse over time. I could really use some support right now and any advice that you may have.
Avatar f tn However it should be noted that many medications can interact with lithium by raising or lowering the blood level of lithium. When the blood level of lithium is higher the potential for hand tremors increases. You could discuss all this with your psychiatrist but it will take some time for the Ciraplex to be out of your system so it should take some time for any potential improvement to occur but keep your psychiatrist updated as to how things are going.

Avatar n tn I have been having right hand tremors for about 6 months, when I turn my hand to open a door it feels like the skin is stretching(nerve). I can run my hand up my right wrist and feel it hit the nerve. Anybody have an idea what it could be? Could it be a pinched nerve? Also the hand feels a little numb on the right side.
