5142668 tn?1364230745 I suffer from essential tremors and severe FMS,CFS. The tremors affect my hands head torso and at times the legs. ET has a rhythm to them and are more noticeable when you are reaching for something or trying to pick it up. I have been told the tremor and the fibro are not related but they both came on at about the same time in 2004 and have progressed. I take propranolol for the tremors, savella for the fibro along with numerous other meds to combat symptoms.Hope this gives you a little insight.
Avatar m tn I've been taking 20mg of propranolol twice a day for about 2 weeks now and haven't noticed any improvement in my tremors. Does it have to build up in your system or should it start working instantly after the first time you take it, or maybe I'm on a low dose?
Avatar n tn I have essesential tremors and take medication (Propranolol SA -160mg) for them. I also take Clonazepam - 0.5mg for anxiety and Prozac - 20mg to help with my nervousness and anxiety. It is getting to the point that I am barely able to drive, and I have noticed that my head is shaking more than it used to.

Avatar n tn I'm a 48 year old female. My blood pressure is low to normal. I'm physically active (run, walk, bike, weights). Approximately three months ago I noticed that my hands (mostly my left) shake. They do not shake when at rest in my lap only when I hold them up or hold a book, etc. My left hand gets noticeably worse during physical activity. I feel a strange, pulsing weakness, but there is no loss of actual strength.
Avatar n tn This sounds like essential tremor, which a neurological disorder is causing involuntary shaking of particular body parts, head and hands. These tremors worsen when hands are used rather than when resting. It may affect the voice making it quivering. Usually the cause is unknown, without a known cure. It is different from parkinson’s disease. parkinson’s involves involuntary tremors at rest, muscle stiffness, slowness of movement and is caused by deficiency of dopamine in brain.
