Propranolol for birthmarks

Common Questions and Answers about Propranolol for birthmarks

inderal

Avatar n tn sometimes Tenex is also used in conjunction with stimulants to help control ADHD symptoms....first I have heard of inderal (brand name for propranolol) being used but makes sense...Always to remember to ask your doctor any questions about your meds and health care...the only stupid questions are the ones not asked....Also beta blockers are also given to help control migraines to regulate fluxs in BP...not because too high but slight changes can trigger migraines...
Avatar f tn Can birthmarks be inherited? I was born with one on my face that I had removed as a teen but just wondering if my little girl could be born with one too?
1243620 tn?1274790697 Does anyone take propranolol for anxiety and panic attacks? I've had crippling anxiety for my whole life. Antidepressants increase it to the point where I'm in such a state I almost pass out from hypervenitlating. I've heard propranolol is good for this, and is effective.
Avatar f tn Specific birthmarks are not hereditary. In fact, I have never heard of any children being born with the exact same birthmarks, in the exact same places, that their parents have. Chances are slim.
Avatar f tn I also do take the beta-blocker pindolol which has kept my BP at 125/70 for years. Shrink says very occasional and use of propranolol on top of pindolol should not be a problem but I still have concerns which I will run by my GP. I actually did receive a call from my pharmacy pointing out the risk of a low BP problem. So...I am wondering if anyone has used propranolol or has an educated opinion on both its use in ED and possible interactions.
424991 tn?1203444514 a doctor had told my parents the reason for that was the birth mark. can birthmarks have that effect or is it something else that causes my leg to not gain weight? my right leg does have celulities and so does the thin leg why?
Avatar f tn Does anyone know about enlarging birthmarks please help me. I have consulted a skin specialist they said nothing can do with this it is worrying me a lot. please let me know?
Avatar m tn I have a small, dark colored, birthmark near the head of my penis that i've had for as long as I can remember. The birthmark is not raised, but is just a dark discoloration of the skin, as if the pigment cells are overactive in that one small area. Its always made me super self conscious, to the point where its destroyed my sex life along with my self esteem. As of late, i've seriously considered getting this checked by a dermatologist and hopefully removed.
Avatar f tn I know propranolol is used for PTSD...but what should I ask for in the pharmacy and what is the dosage? Are there any serious effect if taken without proper knowledge?
Avatar n tn Then, last week, I noticed at least 4 more of the same flat, discolored skin spots, which look just like flat birthmarks, on the same breast. They are all quite small now, but growing. Any idea if this sounds dangerous at all?? Thanks.
Avatar m tn I have a discoloration on the glands of my penis is like a oval shape on one side and couple tiny dots on other also have like birthmarks that are appearing out of no where on my shaft done are dark some are very very faint almost the same color as the discoloration on my penis glands , when I shower it appears more but as the day goes by it faints in color then you hardly see till I shower again I've also got unprotected oral can this be an std I have no discharge no burning sensation or no
Avatar n tn Hi, Thank you for your question. Usually, propranolol (beta blocker) is suggested for prophylactic treatment of migraine. Acute or prompt treatment require over the counter pain killers and triptans. Avoiding the triggering factors of cluster headache might help you in order to prevent its recurrence. Hope it helps.
Avatar m tn I used to take a slow-release Propranolol 80 mg every day, which caused severe tiredness and extreme fatigue, to the point that I was not able to think straight and sometimes could not even get out of bed. Apparently, Propranolol also inhibits the ability for you to burn fat, not to mention gastrointestinal issues. Depression is also significantly higher when taking Propranolol.
920439 tn?1244003499 When she was born she had 4 small birthmarks. She has one on the back of her head, one on her shoulder, one on her side and one just above her lulu. A few months ago a knot appeared on her birthmark on her head and soon it turned into a blister and popped the next day. It healed up and a doctor said it was probably just a bite. It's happened on another occasion since then in the same exact spot. The birthmark on her shoulder has had the same symptoms.
Avatar n tn First of all I do not believe vertebral hemangiomas are like birthmarks...these so called birthmarks can cause your bones to weaken, they can actually cause vertebral collapse and they can also keep growing and cause spinal cord compression. I don't care what the majority of neurologists or neurosurgeons believe. People who have hemangiomas are not crazy - the pain is very real!
Avatar n tn I have anxiety and i just really want to know if these birthmarks are alright. Here is the picture https://i.imgur.com/1lxnTwF.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol for my blood pressure and keeps my heart steady when a panic attack comes around. For my anxiety, the dr put me on celexa, propranolol, and Ativan. This combo usually works pretty well.
Avatar n tn Hello, Since the marks have been present for such a long time,so I don’t think that they are dangerous. They sound like Fordyce spots, marks due to friction rub with clothes or simple hyperpgmentation of the skin. This darkening occurs when an excess of melanin, the brown pigment that produces normal skin color, forms deposits in the skin. Treatment involves hydroquinone, azelaic acid, corticosteroids, tretinoin cream and laser treatment.
Avatar n tn Signs of Melanoma are changes of color or texture in existing moles/birthmarks, or a new growth on the skin. So always keep an eye on any birthmarks you have and wear sun protection at all times. If these spots continue to pop up it is better to have it checked out and waste a day of exploring than put your health at risk, right? Besides, you'd be worrying about it for the rest of the trip anyway, and that's no fun!
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar n tn weight for example. What is a perfect dose for an adult male would probably be too much for a preteen girl. It's important to talk to a doctor or poison control in case treatment is needed.
Avatar f tn Yeah, Propanolol has a chance of helping you. Not sure whether suggesting to the doctor what to try is the right approach, but you could always ask if you're a good candidate for it (assuming you've been checked out properly, diagnosed properly -- which often means an MRI and a long discussion of history, habits, possible triggers).
Avatar n tn i started to notice that i had a spot were i cut my self on the back of my head and every time i shave it got much bigger is thier any treatment for this some people tell that i comes from alot of stress and your hair cells stop growin am 26 yrs and it does run in my family boldness?
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn Because of my symptoms, my doctor is ruling out physical causes before diagnosing it as stress (which will be his diagnosis if my daily adrenaline levels turn out to be high). He put me on Propranolol for a month for anxiety and my other issues.
