Avatar f tn This question is for Ted from Thailand. Or any doctor or nutritionist that has time to answer. How often can I take the baking soda and lemon juice mixture?? I have begun that regiment once a day so far, increased my magnesium, and 2 tbs black strap molasses as well. I have completely stopped taking my propranolol. The pvc's are fewer, but not completely gone.
Avatar f tn So for a few years on and off I get these skipped beats or palpitations, whatever you want to call them. Some days I get them a few times a day, & then don't notice them for awhile, & then they come back. Usually I'll notice them after exercise but sometimes I'm totally at rest and I'll feel like 2-3 skips or jumps close together, like my heart pauses and then beats. I don't ever get more than 2-3 per minute at most. But they are a bit unsettling.
Avatar m tn m guessing your propranolol is low dosage as well) are pretty safe. A lot of folks take propranolol to reduce anxiety for public speaking, etc. I'd tend to agree that they aren't a cure for PVCs based on my personal experience. I think they are more for just helping one to cope better... I saw you were going to try the Taurine/L-arginine supplements. Please do report back. Just FYI, I'm doing 1G L-arginine (nightly) and 2G Taurine (split AM/PM).
Avatar f tn Avoid caffeine. Caffeine can cause your body to produce more adrenaline, which may make your tremors worse. Avoid other stimulants as well. Use alcohol sparingly. Some people notice that their tremors improve for up to an hour after they drink alcohol, but drinking isn't a good solution for people with essential tremor. That's because tremors tend to worsen once the effects of alcohol wear off.
1504778 tn?1321394645 s we have today, their tolerance to caffeine is reduced. Stopping all caffeine for 2 weeks will give you a great idea if this is contributing to your health issue or not. For me, as a lifelong hyperthyroidic, cutting out caffeine was one of the most important self help steps I could take. I assume you've been diagnosed with Hyperthyroidisim, high blood pressure, angina, heart irregularity, or something equivalent, to be prescribed the Propranolol. It is not an anxiety drug.
Avatar f tn I've been on only 10 mg of Propranolol for about 2 weeks now and feel that it has helped me a bit with my GAD. I have normal blood pressure, and was thinking about asking my doc for a higher dose to see if the improvement would continue. The lethargy is what bothers me the most since I already have a pretty low energy level. I wanted to get some opinions on here about taking some kind of diet supplement that is suppose to help with energy.
Avatar n tn Hi, Im on zoloft/sertraline and im also very sensitive to caffeine, even before the zoloft. I also have a med called Inderal (name in Sweden - Propranolol beta blocker) which I discovered takes the negative coffein effects away. It also takes the overall physical effect of anxiety away. Its actually a medicine for heart decieces but I highly recommended it. :) I think its neutralizing the effect of increased output of adrenaline, which causes stress etc.
Avatar n tn I am a 38 year old who has been developing a tremor in my dominant hand for the past 18 months. I also have been taking imipramine for the last 18 years for a panic disorder. I tried reducing my imipramine dosage about the time the tremor began but then went back up to my original dose. The tremor continued and seems to be getting worse. Ive read that imipramine can cause tremors but find it hard to believe it would start after all these years.
Avatar f tn sometimes my entire arm, and my hands and legs usually tremble. This also has occurred before whenever i drink caffeine. (However for the previous 27 years of my life before this began i was extremely athletic and drank caffeine on a fairly regular basis without ever one issue). Going into the ER during these attacks they call them panic attacks, however i feel they are not.
Avatar m tn I have frequent PVCs. I get bigeminy and trigeminy only when my heart rate is very slow, especially right before bed and up until i fall asleep. I'm considering the minimum dose of propranolol as prescribed by my doc, but i'm very cautious and wanted to know what it is like and what any side effects and withdrawl might be like. what can i expect when taking this? i enjoy working out so i'm hoping it wouldn't affect my weight lifting and cardio that i like to do.
1828749 tn?1317778518 So I am currently taking Propranolol for my tachycardia, the Dr thinks its either inappropriate sinus tachycardia or supraventricular tachycardia and recently changed me to verapamil. Im so scared to start taking it, my question is does anyone take this drug for either of these conditions and does it work? Any information on these conditions and or drugs will be greatly appriciated.
Avatar n tn Usually these are seen when you move and may worsen with stress, caffeine, drugs. You need to consult a neurologist for assessment. Treatment involves certain drugs like propranolol and primidone , which is an anti convulsant. Hope this helps. Take care.
Avatar f tn Has anyone tried PROPRANOLOL for prevention of Migraines? I have struggled with headaches almost every day & Migraines aprox every 7-10 days for the last 10 years. Feverfew has helped but they now seem to be getting worst so I was thinking of asking my GP if I could try Propranolol.
4155003 tn?1351614311 ive bin on propranolol for about 12weeks & weaned myself down to 10ml every other day, i took 10ml propranolol 52hours ago & not going to take another one as im ready to stop. when will it be fully out my system?
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
Avatar n tn Also my doctor prescribe Propranolol 10mg and it seems as if the palpations are more frequent than usual. Could you please suggest a solution to my problem?
Avatar f tn t help noticing it. I have been taking Propranolol 10mg as needed for about a year for anxiety and racing pulse due to anxiety, it helps somewhat. But for the last couple weeks I get these random bouts of very unpleasant sensation in my chest followed by my heart racing immensely in the span of a few seconds. Like I will be sitting or at rest and get up and it will just race. Usually I chew on a Xanax or Propranolol and that gets it under control somewhat but it's still scary.
Avatar f tn Your rapid pulse and/or palpitations can be helped so much by quitting all caffeine, cigarettes, cola and alcohol and any other stimulants, as well as trying to avoid stressful situations and possibly blockbuster action movies that have you on the edge of your seat. Another thing that's very helpful is to focus on breathing properly and filling your lungs. I would return to the dr for an assessment of the effectiveness of the BP medication and dosage you're on.
Avatar f tn I have a beta blocker for use when needed, but that one is propranolol and not metoprolol (slow release). Propranolol works better towards anxiety, stress and other factors that may trigger a rapid heart rhythm. From time to time (generally stressful times) I can take 12,5 or 25 mg metoprolol in addition. But I guess this is something that your doctor should decide as we are all different.
Avatar f tn 4 days ago pcp changed my beta blocker from propranolol 40mg twice daily to metprolol er 25mg daily d/t low pulse in 40s- 50s. Been on propranolol for 22yrs for PVCS. She had me just stop propranolol and start metoprolol, been experiencing shakiness, occassional pvcs, headache, nausea, pulse still 45 - low 60s at rest and with exertion 70-90. Should she have tapered propranolol or will the metoprolol block the more serious withdrawal symptoms ie: HTN, chest pain ect.
Avatar f tn The good news about it is that besides the tremor, which is of course very bothersome to some people, it does not have other consequences (it is not neurodegenerative) in the majority of patients, though a minority develop parkinson’s disease. Propranolol is a commonly used and effective treatment for BET, but can not be used in people with asthma and some other pulmonary problems. Other treatments for BET include primidone, or mysoline.
Avatar m tn Propranolol is not on the list of contraindicated drugs for Harvoni. Here is the list: http://www.drugs.com/drug-interactions/ledipasvir-sofosbuvir,harvoni-index.
Avatar f tn When did you start taking Propranolol 20 mg? Side effects of propranolol include abdominal cramps, diarrhea, constipation, fatigue, insomnia, nausea, depression, memory loss, fever, lightheadedness, slow heart rate, low blood pressure, cold extremities, sore throat, and shortness of breath( ref: http://www.medicinenet.com/propranolol/page2.htm). It is possible that your symptoms are related to the medication you are taking.
Avatar f tn I take propranolol the dosage is up to your doctor it doesn't really make you tired although everyone is different but it doesn't me it's suppose to be for stress and anxiety but I don't think it helps very well you might consider ativan there isn't a medication that has propranolol in it there is a script of propranolol by itself it's not mixed with any medication
Avatar n tn Sertraline and other Selective Serotonin Re-uptake Inhibitors (SSRIs) inhibit a certain enzyme which usually metabolizes Propranolol. Due to this inhibition, Propranolol action may be enhanced. But it will not be appropriate to look at this isolated piece of information and ignore other evidences. We do have a lot of trials and reviews exploring the combination. There is no conclusive evidence which allows us to deem this combination unacceptable.
Avatar f tn Results vary among people, but, for migraines, I was taking 240 mg Inderal LA (Propranolol slow release) every day, in divided doses, I was fine. One site I just viewed suggested dosing as 40mg twice a day of Standard Propranolol or 80 mg Slow Release once a day. For the Standard Propranolol, they listed 640 mg as the maximum per day, in divided doses, so you're clearing that by a wide margin.
