Avatar f tn Thetam01~ Levothyroxine, and Synthroid are both for HypOthyroidism. my son is on Levoxyl (same med... diff name).... :) but nana~ I agree... they should've given you a THYROID med. If they get your thyroid under control you can get pregnant. you should be able to healthily.
Avatar n tn I was completely off thyroid medication when I developed a heart flutter. Had to go back on a small dose (12.5mcg synthroid) to make it less, but now showing signs of hyperthyroid symptoms again. _Bloodwork as of 8/9/22:_ T3: 74 (range 71-180) Reverse T3: 11 (range 9.2-24.1) T4: .85 (range .82-1.77) TSH in 4 months went from 86 (April) to currently 19.1.
Avatar f tn I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.
Avatar n tn I know when I started the Synthroid initially I felt a big difference in my bloated stomach, swollen ankles and eventually my nails stopped breaking. I'm also consulting another endo in a months time who was recommended so I'll see.
Avatar f tn I read that too much potassium doesn’t work well while on propranolol because while on it the body does not excrete potassium as normally and you can get levels that are too high. Could this be the cause or is there an adjustment period while taking propranolol? I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice and cherry juice, 4 oz of each, with breakfast this past week. These are very high in potassium. Something is making me feel very strange and I’m hoping it wears off.
20867016 tn?1551836666 I was released the next day and called the office and spoke with my endo on call Saturday and endo on call said skip Synthroid Sunday and then take 1/2 of 112 Synthroid on Monday and call my regular endo on Monday, which I did. He changed me from 112 to 100 Synthroid based on T4 up and TSH heading downward.. I am due for labs on May 6, tomorrow. Yesterday and today I am feeling worse….
Avatar m tn So, here's my (complicated) question... They just found out I have Hashimoto's, which is not too surprising because my mom has hypothyroid. However, I am in the intermittent hyperthyroid stage, before my thyroid dies and I turn hypothyroid. My doctor just wants to wait until I "level out" before treating with synthroid or the like and asked me to come back in a few months to get bloodwork repeated.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how propranolol effects exercise? I do triathlon and train using a heart rate monitor. I am wondering if I would be able to progress athletically given my heart rate would be lowered substantially?
Avatar f tn Over the course of the last month I raised my t3 from 20 mcg to 30 mcg (synthroid was dropped at same time from 150 to 137) and was feeling amazing and then suddenly last week I was dealing with lots of hyper symptoms. I've already slightly reduced my t3 the past few days from 30mcg to 25mcg when I realized what was happening and my endo now has me on synthroid 125 as of yesterday.
Avatar f tn However, I have been on Synthroid for years and when I increase it, I get to the point where a specific dose pushes me over the edge into horrible hyperlike, activating symptoms! This last increase was tiny from 88 6 days a week and one 75, to 88 every day. Despite the increase, my TSH doubled (which makes no sense) and the Free T4 and FreeT3 remained the same.
Avatar f tn Hi guys! It's been awhile! I got a lot of help here years ago. I've been on the same dose of NP Thyroid for the last several years, I hadn't tested in a long time. I have been under-weight for a few years, but that had seemed to happen in cycles in my life and the previous test to this a couple of years ago was all good..... Thing that has changed: I had been prescribed Propranolol 30 years ago to prevent migraines.
3122467 tn?1342138836 To deal with it, I take a beta blocker, propranolol, and it works beautifully. Not only does it take care of the akathisia it also treats anxiety. Once i ran out of propranolol because it hadn't arrived from the mail order pharmacy and the akathisia came back so I know two things... I still have it and propranolol stops it.
Avatar f tn I've successfully taken Ziac 10/6.25 Bisoprolol/HCTZ for several years. Due to Sythroid/thyroid meds I now need larger bp doses due to escalating pulse and blood pressure from it. The doctor said I had to switch from Ziac brand since 10 mg is the maximum Ziac pill size. The doc put me on 40 mg Propranolol and it didn't stop the high bp issue and I ended up in the hospital ER with 171/125 and 123 pulse readings.
Avatar f tn I got my period on 2 may this month and it was very light like a red/brownish and only lasted 2 days approximately and my periods normally last up to 5-6 days and are quite heavy. 2 weeks later I have come back on again this time seems normal I'm quite heavy. Has anyone else had this problem or similar and would you say it's something to worry about I just want to talk to people with the same situation so I feel comfortable and can kinda put my mind at rest a little.
Avatar f tn re not also busy diagnosing and treating the flu and heart problems and body pain etc. So theoretically they become much more expert in it and the interactions between drugs and things like quitting smoking and also in the appropriate drugs to prescribe for a certain condition. Beta blockers, for example, have only been found effective for social anxiety, which doesn't mean they don't work for some people for other things but that's not their main use in anxiety treatment.
Avatar n tn I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.
Avatar f tn In the end, NOTHING could control the levels and I had RAI and TT in 2008.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.
Avatar f tn I take it daily however it is along with other meds too. Usually treating migraines and/or anxiety is not a one-thing-fix-all. And even if something worked on you in the past may not work today and vise-versa. You can definitely ask about it, it won't hurt. But, my suggestion is to just let your doctor how bad it is and let him/her choose what to give you next. Remember, treatment is a marathon, not a sprint.
Avatar f tn I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) These will also help with my bp, it has been creeping up. I have had these in the past but was more recently on bisoprolol. Which is more common for POTS symptoms? I was in A&E last night and back at my GP's this morning. I have been refered back to the cardiologist who is going to see me in november.
4155003 tn?1351614311 You need to talk to your doctor before getting out, i try propanolol because doctor said i had hyperthyroid, i took a pill, n discover chest pain, do i stop right away, i went back to the doctor and told her what happen and she dismissed for me to take propanolol and she said my blood work came back normal, i heard if you been taking propanolol for a while is bad to just quit, it can cause worse symptoms, so talk to ur doc, she will recommend lower dose, then she will take u off, if she thinks i
