propranolol and cymbalta

I was on paxil for almost 20 years for depression and panic. MD switched me to Cymbalta. He said it is possible for you to get used to meds after being on them long term. Is that true, cannot find much info. on that. The problem is the Cymbalta was better with my depression but seems to increase my anxiety and cause me excessive sweating, esp in social situations. Does the sweating sound like a common side effect for SNRI?

No longer covered by her Medicare, her psychiatrist took her off the cymbalta and abilify. Switched to prozac 40 mg once a day. Last day for cymbalta and abilify was Wednesday. She is having horrible throbbing , headaches, angry outbursts, crying, the "runs", nausea, panic, agitation. She cannot get to sleep and wakes up after 4 hours once she does get to sleep. What she wants to know is whether or not she can take tylenol for the headaches?

Hi, I have suffered with migraines for many years & was placed on prophylactic meds-Cymbalta & Propranolol. About 3 months ago I developed Trigeminal Neuritis on my R side. I have to say it was the most painful affliction I ever experienced, even worse than the 2 spinal fusions I underwent! I was placed on Trileptal & am up to 600mg 2x/day, as well as continuing with Cymbalta & Propranolol.

Yes, definelty read as much as you can about all the medicines he is taking!!!! I am on Oxycodone, Maxalt, Propranolol, Cymbalta and Ambien. Through my OWN research on these medicines, I found that I should not mix any of them together....but yet, My Dr. nor the Pharmacy told me it was dangerous so at first, I was....I could have died. Luckily, I only take the Maxalt as needed for Migraines and I always take my last pain pill a few hours before bed...

Next, I am on medications and I am pregnant. I was on xanax and klonopin before my pregnancy, but since both are Class D I got off of them. I am now on 30mg of Buspar which is a Class B medication and it has helped tremendously. Also, most anti depressants are OK during the first trimesters of pregnancy and even in the third, but there is a risk of withdrawal symptoms to the baby in the third trimester. I am on cymbalta which also helps for anxiety, but I use it for pain.

I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. I have suffered from Anxiety for around 5 years, I have it under control on most days, I am using Cymbalta (30mg per day) and Propranolol (10mg per day). However, its has taken some time to notice that after a meal (not a snack) but a full meal at a restaurant or friends my anxiety increases considerably, to the point of feeling quite unwell, palpitations, dizzy, panic attacks - I manage to control these feelings and after a while these feeling subside.

I read that too much potassium doesn’t work well while on propranolol because while on it the body does not excrete potassium as normally and you can get levels that are too high. Could this be the cause or is there an adjustment period while taking propranolol? I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice and cherry juice, 4 oz of each, with breakfast this past week. These are very high in potassium. Something is making me feel very strange and I’m hoping it wears off.

I have tried tons of different medicines..propranolol, Amitriptyline, topamax, Cymbalta, Lamotrigine, Olanzapine, Tegretol, along with about 20 other ones.. those are the ones I can think of at the moment.

I voted 5-10 but I don't take meds specifically prescribed for fibro. They are for the stuff that goes along with it.... singulair, xyzal, omnaris (chemical sensitivities and regular allergies) synthroid topamax (migraines) wellbutrin After being seriously overmedicated for 4 years before my dx....I'm also very careful about what meds I take and how they interact. I didn't have any luck with flexeril, amitriptyline or cymbalta. I took vioxx for years and felt great on it....

Does anyone know how propranolol effects exercise? I do triathlon and train using a heart rate monitor. I am wondering if I would be able to progress athletically given my heart rate would be lowered substantially?

To deal with it, I take a beta blocker, propranolol, and it works beautifully. Not only does it take care of the akathisia it also treats anxiety. Once i ran out of propranolol because it hadn't arrived from the mail order pharmacy and the akathisia came back so I know two things... I still have it and propranolol stops it.

I got my period on 2 may this month and it was very light like a red/brownish and only lasted 2 days approximately and my periods normally last up to 5-6 days and are quite heavy. 2 weeks later I have come back on again this time seems normal I'm quite heavy. Has anyone else had this problem or similar and would you say it's something to worry about I just want to talk to people with the same situation so I feel comfortable and can kinda put my mind at rest a little.

Beta blockers, for example, have only been found effective for social anxiety, which doesn't mean they don't work for some people for other things but that's not their main use in anxiety treatment.

I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.

I'm on Cymbalta for moodswings and fibro. Someone posted that they were on Cymbalta and Lamactil and it worked well. Cant find the post. Anyone taking this combination and does it work.

In the end, NOTHING could control the levels and I had RAI and TT in 2008.

I've been taking Propranolol for high blood pressure and tachycardia(10mg at 8am, 2pm, and 8pm) for about 18 days now, and four days ago I woke up feeling quite dizzy. Since then it seemed to get better, but now I feel lethargic, dizzy, and generally unwell. Is it my drug? Note: I'm a 15-year-old male.

I take it daily however it is along with other meds too. Usually treating migraines and/or anxiety is not a one-thing-fix-all. And even if something worked on you in the past may not work today and vise-versa. You can definitely ask about it, it won't hurt. But, my suggestion is to just let your doctor how bad it is and let him/her choose what to give you next. Remember, treatment is a marathon, not a sprint.

I have been given propranolol to take as I have had continuous palpitations since monday and my heartrate has randomly shooting up in the 100's (not related to posture!!) I was put on cymbalta for depression and nerve pain ( RSD ). I hate taking new medicines I know nothing about. I am young and I am afraid of it. I start off taking 30 mgs for a week than increase to 60 than I will get up to 120 at some point. Could someone please tell me something about this drug? Is it safe? Thanks Susan...

Overall I think Cymbalta is one of the best medication out there but this have a cost. Cymbalta cost is outrageous and Cymbalta is very hard to stop. I stopped cold-turkey after using it for only 5 months and I had brain zaps for a little more than a month. The withdrawal was quite severe but it is expected with all potent powerful antidepressant.
