Avatar f tn If any one can help answer my question, I would be so grateful. I have been hospitalized in the ER three times in the past two weeks for bradycardia. All this suddenly started happening in the last two weeks. I start to feel weak, have a seizure, this last time, I fell down on the kitchen floor and hit my head pretty good. I am a 28 yr old female who has been on propranol for almost 4 years. I have a at home blood pressure monitor, that also checks my pulse and I do it religiously.
Avatar n tn I read Sertraline reacts with Propranolol. It makes Propranolol more toxic and can give me low BP and bradycardia. Recently my BP was a bit high (140/90) and pulse rate was 72. Shall I take the psychiatric medicines and how should I schedule the medications without suffering a lot?

Avatar m tn Sick sinus syndrome involves both tachycardia and bradycardia, often at completely inappropriate times. You can have long pauses which may cause fainting, and runs of bradycardia (or a heart rate of 60 during exercise - just weird stuff), and often atrial fibrillation as well. Postural tachycardia manifests with a normal heart rate except when standing up.
Avatar m tn I have been to my gp today he has told me to take just 80mg dose and see how it goes and come back monday.my heart rate today now as i am writeing this is 51.
Avatar m tn ty but thet is not exectly what im looking for,our doctors dont talk mutch , i was yesterday to cardoiologist and he raised my dose to Propranolol 40mg 3*1/2 but im not sure thet this medication will realy help me i think maybe anti-arhhitmic like propafenone please reply
Avatar n tn I was on a benzodiazepine for sleep and it really messed up my heart rhythms (HR jumping to 150 in a second, tachycardia, bradycardia, and low HR). I was put on propranolol, but that lowered my HR to around 40 so I was taken off. I’m off of the benzo for sleep now and staying off!! Medications are just not tested as they should be. The $$$ is more important. If they can skew the negative data they do.
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with PSVTs 5 years ago at age 35. I take 10mg of propranolol daily and it has worked just fine to keep the arrhythmia at bay. Lately I have been trying to run a little faster when I exercise, and I am wondering if a medication adjustment might be in order. I am not trying to do anything crazy; I just want to run a 5K in less than 30 minutes. About 20 minutes in, my heartrate gets to the high 170s.
Avatar m tn m not a doctor but I do know for my anxiety issues Propranolol does help and helps with the adrenaline issues from my ANS (autonomic nervous system). I would talk to my doctor about something to help calm the anxiety and see if that helps, along with diet, breathing and exercise if they clear you. Yes I've had different ekg's even on the same day.
Avatar m tn My results came back. Apparently they didn't feel like telling me that they gave them to my doctor. I also flip flop between hyper and hypotension. Like between 150/85 to 110/48, however i stay bradycardic. My doctor said he'd run some tests, which he forgot to do, and after hearing a few pvcs when ausscultating, he gave me propranolol 60mg. My concern with that is that the main contraindication is sinus bradycardia. I have sinus bradycardia. I dont like that prospect.
Avatar f tn Had a baby June 3rd. One week later I had Bradycardia 39-45 BPM sitting and standing. It lasted 3 weeks and then went away. A few weeks later I stood up to close a window, got dizzy and almost fell down. I went to the ER and my BP was in the 190's. Ive never had high BP in my life. It gradually went down after 6 hours. A week later these sensations started in my chest and stomach. They didnt hurt but just felt like nerves. I figured anxiety due to all that had happened.
967168 tn?1477584489 Inderal is a beta blocker. I'm using Inderal too (or Pranolol as the brand name is in Norway) - it's the same drug, Propranolol. To answer your question; Half-time of propranolol is 4,5 hours. But it's often prescribed as capsules that release propranolol through 24 hours, in that case it lasts a bit longer ;) Inderal is often used for "non-cardiac" problems such as tremors, anxiety, migraines and hyperthyreoids (symptomatic).
Avatar f tn I have a history of migraines for about twenty years. I quit smoking 7 months ago, and started propranolol 20 mg once a day. I gained 30 pounds. My whole body is sore and Im having episodes where my upper body and sometimes legs just feel so heavy and tired I feel like Im going to pass out. Had a Head CT, Head and Neck CTA, CBC, EKG all were normal. Is it related to migraine? ER doctor said it is anxiety. Oh I stopped celexa five months ago because I was extremely fatigued.
1124887 tn?1313754891 My cardiologist gave me both, and he did not care which one of them I used, as long as I did not take more than 100 mg of metoprolol or 160 mg of propranolol. But I tend to get bradycardia if I take more than 25 + 10 mg and it triggers more PACs so I try to be careful. My resting heart rate is 50. Anyway, thank you for your reply, I do not expect an answer to this follow up from a MD, I just wanted to share some thoughts. Everyone is free to reply if they would like.
Avatar f tn I read that too much potassium doesn’t work well while on propranolol because while on it the body does not excrete potassium as normally and you can get levels that are too high. Could this be the cause or is there an adjustment period while taking propranolol? I’ve been drinking pomegranate juice and cherry juice, 4 oz of each, with breakfast this past week. These are very high in potassium. Something is making me feel very strange and I’m hoping it wears off.
Avatar m tn Is there a correlation there and will supplemental thyroid hormone amend the condition (bradycardia)? I am still easily fatigued and ironically, have more symptoms at rest rather than when I am up and about.
Avatar f tn Hi there, I am a Latino female about to turn 40, I was recently diagnosed with Sinus Bradycardia. I am not in good shape, I haven't exercise for a year. I am not overweight and don't have any other health problems.
Avatar m tn Does anyone know how propranolol effects exercise? I do triathlon and train using a heart rate monitor. I am wondering if I would be able to progress athletically given my heart rate would be lowered substantially?
3122467 tn?1342138836 To deal with it, I take a beta blocker, propranolol, and it works beautifully. Not only does it take care of the akathisia it also treats anxiety. Once i ran out of propranolol because it hadn't arrived from the mail order pharmacy and the akathisia came back so I know two things... I still have it and propranolol stops it.
Avatar f tn I got my period on 2 may this month and it was very light like a red/brownish and only lasted 2 days approximately and my periods normally last up to 5-6 days and are quite heavy. 2 weeks later I have come back on again this time seems normal I'm quite heavy. Has anyone else had this problem or similar and would you say it's something to worry about I just want to talk to people with the same situation so I feel comfortable and can kinda put my mind at rest a little.
Avatar f tn re not also busy diagnosing and treating the flu and heart problems and body pain etc. So theoretically they become much more expert in it and the interactions between drugs and things like quitting smoking and also in the appropriate drugs to prescribe for a certain condition. Beta blockers, for example, have only been found effective for social anxiety, which doesn't mean they don't work for some people for other things but that's not their main use in anxiety treatment.
Avatar f tn It means you have some instances of bradycardia. How significant it is depends on what you were doing at the time and your symptoms. For example was your instance of a 30 bpm heart rate during a period of vagal stimulation? Were you using the bathroom? Sleeping? Did you just stand up after sitting in a chair for a few hours? Then youd need to know, were you symptomatic at the time? How,did you feel? This is why accurate journal entries are important.
Avatar n tn I also take the Propranolol twice a day for my heart. The Propranolol was prescribed for my heart and never for anything else. Now I am currently taking Propranolol in the morning along with Paxil, at night I take Propranolol again. I take the Klonopin is taken as needed twice a day.
