Well, I have pcos too and my doctor put me on metformin 500mg three times a day and prometrium 200mg twice a day for 10 days each month. The metformin is good for me insulin levels and working with the prometrium my periods have come back after years of not having one. If your periods aren't coming and you're not ovulating it's so hard to have a baby. Ask your doc about putting you on metformin and prometrium or clomid. :) Good luck!
My husband and I are now trying to get pregnant and I have been diagnosed with PCOS. Since I was 13 I have been on BC and I have always had very irregular periods. After my diagnosis my OB put me back on low dose BC but I wasn't having a period so with the consent of my OB I went off BC in April. It has now been 8 months with no period, spotting, cramps, etc. I do have lower abdominal pain like an aching sensation during intercourse and not. I am taking prenatal vitamins now by nature made.
This is my first time posting a question so bear with me.
I'm a 24 y/o F who has been trying to get pregnant since last April. I have very irregular and missed periods so my Dr. put me on 10 days of Prometrium. I had few side effects, fatigue, dizziness and some nausea. After the 10 days on the pill I am supposed to get my period and on day 3 of normal mentration return to the clinic for lab work to diagnose polycystic ovaries. It's been 7 days and no period yet.
t know if it has to do with pcos but every cycle i take prometrium it takes longer to start. last cycle i got to day 14 and nothing! my doc just started me on clomid again as if i had af. i think women with pcos respond different to hormones, i would wait until day 14 then call your doc. mine then does a beta hcg, progesterone, and testosterone level.. this will tell if you ovulated after you took the provera.
Hi im 20, i am currently 5 weeks pregnant after trying for about 3 years, i found out about a year ago i had pcos and so i had to take clomid to help me conceive, i have just started taking pregnacare original and i was wondering if anyone knows if this will help prevent miscarrying? i know it wont stop it completely but just wanted to know if it would help.
So I found out I have pcos. Me and my husband decided we wanted another baby but were told that we could it without help. So we started provera to get a period again then clomid. 2 days again I had to inject myself with Ovidrel 2 days ago and need tomorrow in need to add Prometrium to me. Has anyone use these and gotten success?
PCOS can definitely affect your periods as well as hormonal and/or stress changes. Just to be safe, I would go to a local lab and just get a blood test to test for pregnancy. If you're not pregnant, you may want to talk to your GYN and see if you should be on something like Prometrium to induce your period.
im thinking pcos although dont have any of the symptoms no excess hair growth, im not overweight, dont get breakthrough bleeding. i am a nurse so do realkly horrible shifts and of course stressed every day!!! got docs soon, its day 55 today going to do another test, dont feel no different tho.
Still could be pcos. Women with pcos don't need to have every symptom that goes with it in order to have pcos. I suggest for you to see your doctor, get some blood taken and go from there. You have the # 2 symptoms that are assicated with pcos, irregular periods and cysts.
I am on my first round of provera to bring on my period so i can start clomid. I have PCOS and i took my 5th provera tablet on the 19/01 and it is now day 8 after the 5th tablet and i still have no period, is this normal or should i go back to the dr. I read that it can take up to 10 to 14 days but my dr said it should only take a week. So im a little confused please help. I really want to start trying for a baby.
The strange thing is i read about high LH and low FSH in case of PCOS but my case is other way around. I have LH 1 and FSH 5. So am not sure if this indicates PCOS as well. Am so scared to think about it. I really hope its not PCOS but some other hormonal imbalance. I cant wait to get pregnant again.
I have been diagnosed with PCOS at least 3 years ago now. I just turned 26 years old, and have not been able to get pregnant either. I can tell you that I was also on birth control as a teenager to help me have more regular periods. The docotor had told me that after I got off the pill it could take up to a year before I could concieve (Its been 3 years now and no baby). I got all the way up to 150mg of Clomid with no ovulation results for at least 3-4 months.
I'd love some wisdom from everyone! Anyone! I'm 6 weeks pregnant and started bleeding Tuesday. It was not typical miscarriage symptoms but that is how my miscarriage in 2006 started out (as a little bleeding). So naturally I FLIP. We've been trying for this baby for 13 months, with PCOS and went through Clomid (did not conceive on Clomid but instead conceived when we STOPPED trying and moved on with our lives... go figure!).
I want this baby more than anything right now.
Hi .....friends.....iam PCOS patient undergoing clomid 50mg treatment.....iam on 3rd cycle now...my doctor give me 50mg clomid for 2cycles and for 3rd cycle also she is giving me clomid 50mg.......iam taking clomid 50mg from 3rd day to 7th day of my cycle and from 22nd day of my cycle to 28th day iam on prometrium...my doctor asked me do pegency test on 29th day and if it is negitive she want me to stop prometrium and wait for my periods...
