Well, I have pcos too and my doctor put me on metformin 500mg three times a day and prometrium 200mg twice a day for 10 days each month. The metformin is good for me insulin levels and working with the prometrium my periods have come back after years of not having one. If your periods aren't coming and you're not ovulating it's so hard to have a baby. Ask your doc about putting you on metformin and prometrium or clomid. :) Good luck!
My husband and I are now trying to get pregnant and I have been diagnosed with PCOS. Since I was 13 I have been on BC and I have always had very irregular periods. After my diagnosis my OB put me back on low dose BC but I wasn't having a period so with the consent of my OB I went off BC in April. It has now been 8 months with no period, spotting, cramps, etc. I do have lower abdominal pain like an aching sensation during intercourse and not. I am taking prenatal vitamins now by nature made.
This is my first time posting a question so bear with me.
I'm a 24 y/o F who has been trying to get pregnant since last April. I have very irregular and missed periods so my Dr. put me on 10 days of Prometrium. I had few side effects, fatigue, dizziness and some nausea. After the 10 days on the pill I am supposed to get my period and on day 3 of normal mentration return to the clinic for lab work to diagnose polycystic ovaries. It's been 7 days and no period yet.
Well first I should say that your dr should always do a blood quantative bfore making your period start to check if you are pregnant!!!! Also you should be on metiform for PCOS. You do not have to have diabities to be on this anymore! Also taking birthcontrol to regulate PCOS casues more problems that sometimes can not be reversed!!! You should ask your dr to order you a blood quantative not a blood qualitive which is just a yes or no.
Hi im 20, i am currently 5 weeks pregnant after trying for about 3 years, i found out about a year ago i had pcos and so i had to take clomid to help me conceive, i have just started taking pregnacare original and i was wondering if anyone knows if this will help prevent miscarrying? i know it wont stop it completely but just wanted to know if it would help.
PCOS can definitely affect your periods as well as hormonal and/or stress changes. Just to be safe, I would go to a local lab and just get a blood test to test for pregnancy. If you're not pregnant, you may want to talk to your GYN and see if you should be on something like Prometrium to induce your period.
So I found out I have pcos. Me and my husband decided we wanted another baby but were told that we could it without help. So we started provera to get a period again then clomid. 2 days again I had to inject myself with Ovidrel 2 days ago and need tomorrow in need to add Prometrium to me. Has anyone use these and gotten success?
im thinking pcos although dont have any of the symptoms no excess hair growth, im not overweight, dont get breakthrough bleeding. i am a nurse so do realkly horrible shifts and of course stressed every day!!! got docs soon, its day 55 today going to do another test, dont feel no different tho.
said I had 3 mature follies on the left. I go on the 8th for progesterone test and then preg. test on the 15th. I have pcos and have been on Metformin for almost a year. On Friday the 26th day before IUI she gave me a shot to ovulate and she told me on the 28th that I did ovulate. On Monday the 8th my Dr. called me and said that my progesterone level was 25,but I am not sure what this means and would tomorrow be a good day to take a HPT?
Hi! I have PCOS and have been trying to conceive for 7 months. My tests showed a high level of androgens, but no insulin resistance (although there is a history of diabetes II on my father's side).
I went through two rounds of Clomid (50 mg and 100 mg), but I have not ovulated (small follicles up to 10mm). My doctor suggests now to up the Clomid dose to 150mg and to take Metformin as well.
The side affects are pretty bad it sux that my dr didnt tell me about any alternative before i took this, if i have to go on it again i will be asking for the prometrium, thanks BabyKat2009.
took prometrium for 12 days then finally started 4 days later (my cycles had been ranging between 36 and 44 days.....this month was 60). I then started letrozole on day 3...it is now day 14 of my cycle. I started using the saliva ovulation test a couple of days ago and have seen no change (honestly really nothing at all). Today I used an opk and no LH surge. What day is "typical" for ovulation when taking clomid or femara???? This has been so frustrating.....
Thanks for the advice. Its funny you mention PCOS as I do have that so without my some type of hormone medicine then it just wont come. I was afraid after my mc/ that my body would be messed up, but just like anyone else just anxious to get pregnant but nervous at the same time. I just dont know if being on prometrium every month is safe for you, but considering I didnt even ovulate last month seems weird..
