prometrium

637951 tn?1257270344 After i had my son my periods were normal for a few months and then I just stopped getting them. Dh and I wanted to start TTC #2 so my OB prescribed prometrium for me. I started to bleed 3 days after my last pill.
290867 tn?1333569278 I went to my OBGYN last week for my annual exam and I mentioned that I wanted to start TTC soon... Dh and I decided we indeed wanted to give Julian a little bother or sister soon.. I told him we are not ativly trying but not preventing either... I told him that I have been having my peroids mostly on time and was a little late this month with a negative pregnany test. He perscribed be Prometrim..
Avatar f tn We've been TTC for 10 mths and I started with Clomid and Ovidrel in December. I had a Progesterone test on Day 21and my levels were low so my RE started me on Prometrium (3 doses of 100 mg). My cycle is typically 28-30 days. Today is day 33 and still no AF (I had a blood test yesterday and it was negative). Does Prometrium delay AF?
359142 tn?1321120923 I thought about vitex, but did research and decided against it. I have regular cycles and ovulate, so I'm worried it would mess up my cycles. I am on progesterone...I've had 3 m/c and low progesterone with all, tho probably more of an egg issue I'd assume bc of my age.
1610106 tn?1298173845 ask ur dr about that or use the progesterone cream its available online and they say no harm in using it anyways plss let me no what happens with u as im also ttc and worried about the same thing....good luck and all sticky baby dust on u!!!
1404364 tn?1289431561 m wondering though if provera is essentially the same as Prometrium? I know Prometrium is more of a natural progesterone and Provera is synthetic, but I have already done 10 days of prometrium and no period came. Ugh...so frustrating! I have not been diagnosed, but I have heard of Metformin. Of the symptoms of PCOS, the only one I have is the absense of a cycle. I will for sure ask about it...it's worth a shot!
Avatar f tn ve had off and on cramping for 9 days, a little in the morning, little in the afternoon and a little at night. They only last a few seconds and I occasionaly get a sharp shooting pain. I noticed that on day 3 of my provera, my CM was very stretchy...that NEVER happens!! So i'm wondering if maybe by some chance I ovulated while on Provera. I called the dr. and she said to wait 14 days, if I haven't started by then, I needed to be seen. Is this normal?? It's driving me crazy.
Avatar f tn d twice - I remind myself that I still got pg after years of ttc and giving up hope. Now , I have to keep positive and tell myself the next one's a keeper. You try not to lose hope either. Keep your chin up - you WILL be a mama soon. If you read past posts you'll see that there are others who have m/c'd more than twice and they're "preggers" now or have given birth. Those are tough chicks and they hung onto their dream and it came true.
1310773 tn?1317095445 I know that sore boobs and nausea can be from the prometrium, and fatigue, which I have had plenty of... But today I got up to let my doggies out, and as I was moving around I felt really dizzy... Is this the prometrium or could it be an early symptom? It really freaked me out, I'm trying not to get my hopes up as usual, but just looking for some hope I guess... Is it too early????
Avatar f tn I would appreciate any feedback. Very quickly, since I went off the pill in August 2007, I suffered a m/c in December. On 4/14 AF came on time (for the first time might I add) so I figured maybe my cycle will be regular. Well it was from 4/14-4/18 and pretty much consisted of heavy spotting and barely any cramping (unusual for me). Then on 4/26-5/1 - same thing!! So then I went to the OBGYN, after an u/s he believed that I wasn't ovulating. So he put me on Prometrium 200mg for 12 days.
2046312 tn?1360379600 I've had 3 miscarriages in the past and my boyfriend and I have den ttc for the last 6 months with no luck. My Obgyn diagnosed me with PCOS and then I did blood work on day 21 of my cycle and they said I didn't ovulate. She wants to start me on prometrium on day 21 of my next cycle. My periods are irregular and sometimes my cycles can be 40-50 days apart. Has anyone been on this medicAtion before? Does it help ovulate?
Avatar f tn Oh and your luteal phase should be a full 14 days! If you are getting your period in 10 days then your progesterone levels need to be rechecked as you might need more progesterone! you need mroe time for a baby to implant.
Avatar f tn I am TTC and taking crinone gel on day 17 until I get my period. I have noticed that I start having some mild cramps around 5 or 6 days after starting the crinone suppositories. Has anyone else noticed this? It seems to be working b/c I am not having mid-cycle spotting anymore and my cycles have gone from 24 days to around 32 days.
1110747 tn?1295844043 Hi Nolta, I had a progesterone level of 13.8 at the beginning of this pregnancy. They wanted it to be above 20. I was put on crinone natural progesterone for a few weeks and then I was switched to prometrium. I'm finishing up my 13th week and will no longer have to take it. It supplements the progesterone levels until the placenta takes over. It's pretty common and luckily the supplemental progesterone can help. Also, I had some side cramping like you are describing early on too.
Avatar f tn I started progesterone (but not prometrium) a few cycles ago 'cause my luteal phase was too short. The progesterone lengthened my luteal phase from 9 days to 13-14 when AF starts, and then I stop the progesterone. I'm not sure if prometrium and the progesterone I'm taking work differently ?? I'm not sure why you would be bleeding so much, but again I'm not familiar with the progesterone you're taking. I would ask your doctor what he/she thinks. Good luck to you !
575256 tn?1242586431 My doctor had found a small tumor on my pituitary gland that was causing hormone issues, prolactin HIGH, progesterone LOW, so he put me on Dostinex to lower the prolactin, and Prometrium to increase my progesterone. They said I had 3 good eggs release this cycle. They did a blood test on 6 dpo and prolactin was 9, and progesterone was 44... Is that a good sign or is the progesterone elevated from the prometrium ? We have been ttc for over 1 1/2 years, and I am not getting younger.
422823 tn?1229736847 I took 100mg for one cycle (BFN) and the dr upped it to 200mg - on the third cycle - I got pregnant. I took it before I went to bed b/c of the side effects until I was in my 13th week. I'm now 30 weeks - I'd say, 'what could it hurt'?! I had two miscarriages and they ran a bunch of tests and found I have a blood clotting issue. So when we started TTC again I was told to take baby aspirin and prometrium.
282955 tn?1394730951 My Progesterone with clomid are around 65 to 120 at CD21 or 7DPO but then when AF aproaches, my temps slowly go down and then she comes (AF)...
Avatar f tn Well, I have pcos too and my doctor put me on metformin 500mg three times a day and prometrium 200mg twice a day for 10 days each month. The metformin is good for me insulin levels and working with the prometrium my periods have come back after years of not having one. If your periods aren't coming and you're not ovulating it's so hard to have a baby. Ask your doc about putting you on metformin and prometrium or clomid. :) Good luck!
406631 tn?1201892087 hello everyone im new here and i came to this site to see if i could get some help ive been ttc for 3 years now i just recently went to the doctor about 3 weeks ago and he put me on prometrium 400mg everyday for 10 days and then letrozole or femara 5mg cycle days 3 through 7 anyway im checkin for ovulation now and my test have not shown any surge of LH yet but its my first day to test what im wondering is is it normal to cramp what feels like in both my ovaries right before ovulation?
Avatar n tn Hm, I didn't hear that one. I am 5 weeks and 2 days and the hubby and I have carried on as we always do (at least every 2-3 days) and no ill effects. Have you ever had testing done after the miscarraiges to see what was causing them. Sometimes they wait until the third one before they do.
887196 tn?1267555107 I had luteal phase defect when TTC my first. I did not have it firmly diagnosed but my doctor confirmed at my first appt/ultrasound that I had correctly self-diagnosed (ha!). I had been chartign for 6 months and never had a temp increase after ovulation and my luteal phase was never longer than 8-9 days. I also had breakthrough bleeding/spotting for several days before AF, and AF was very heavy, long, and painful.
1160986 tn?1486819725 They told me to stop my Prometrium today and since it was my first time on it, I was wondering if anyone knows if AF will be heavier?
Avatar f tn For the past 2 cycles of TTC, I have started spotting about 5-8 DPO. When it happened last month, I was sure it must be implantation bleeding, but after spotting for a few days, full blown AF showed up. Now this cycle, on 8 DPO the spotting has begun again. It's not enough to even get on my undies, just when I wipe. But when hubby and I BD'd last night, it did get on him a little too.
Avatar m tn I've been ttc for just about a year now...my doctor put me on 200 Prometrium to start my period then Clomid 50 last month, no positive preg test so this month he did they same but uped my Clomid to 100. I did my OPK on days 10-today, which is day 15 with no LH surge. Can I still become pregnant without an LH surge? I thought for sure i ovulated, I got the little crap in my lower stomache and also had the extra mucus. is it possible or not?
Avatar f tn However, you can also be tested for blood clotting disorders and low progesterone. I now take a daily baby asprin, and prometrium (progesterone supplement) as soon as I am past ovulation. See a specialist as Jen recommended, that is your best bet! Good luck to you, and I am sorry for your losses.
