premarin

771665 tn?1235155092 partial mastectomy, 24/35 lymph nodes removed and all clear except cancer in entranceway to 1st lymph node I had chemo, radiation, and then Tamoxifen for 5 yrs. In Dec 2007 diagnosed (totally separate) ovarian cancer; stage 3, aggressive clear celled, totally hysterectomy, fatty curtain removed, specks (1/2 size grain of rice) in right diaphram. In Dec 2007 CA125 count was 874. I had two 2 types/chemo via I.V.
Avatar n tn I have also been told to stay away from the over the counter remedies, as soy, black cohash, etc can mimic estrogen. There is a connection with ovarian cancer and estrogen. One day I will have to have surgery to remove it and we will know what it is then, until then we watch and watch and watch. I do not know if it is cancerous, but, we do know that it is stable. There is another young lady that posts on this board Tybear (Becky)...also told that it was safe to take premarin.
Avatar f tn I was suppose to go for exporitory surgery for the mass that was found on my right ovary but they found it to be cancer and opted, with my consent, to do a total hysterectomy. My doctor, who is a OB/GYN, preformed the surgery and after placed me on Premarin. I was worried after finding out all the health issues around premerin, especially the blood clots, since my mom died of that several years after her hysterectomy.
771665 tn?1235155092 I worry that the elevation of the CA 125 might reflect activity with the ovarian cancer. I would recommend repeating the CA 125 and checking the CT scan. please let us know how you are doing.
Avatar f tn I am scheduled to have a hysterectomy soon. The doctor wants to take my ovaries. My mom and both of her sisters have had hysterectomy's. My mother and 1 aunt had early onset of Alzheimers. both took premarin. I have read and studied that HRT's like premarin have a high risk of dementia and heart disease? since my dad had heart disease and most of his siblings and family have had heart problems I am worried. I have Endometrosis and also prolapsed Uteris.
Avatar n tn s lifetime risk of endometrial / uterine cancer is less than 3%. Ovarian and cervical are more rare than that. Yet 40-45% of women end up having a hysterectomy because it is marketed as having no negative effects and many gynecologists use cancer or other scare tactics to get women to consent to them. There are many women's stories in articles and associated comments on Hormones Matter. You can do a search for "hysterectomy" on the site to bring up all the articles.
Avatar f tn You had a hyster for an ovarian cyst? Was it cancerous? Was there another reason why they gave you the hyster? Have you had an ultrasound done recently? It is possible to have Ovarian remnant syndrome and a cyst has grown back hence the weight gain however it could be something totally different. Are you having any abdominal issues?
Avatar n tn Thank you for your reply. I guess the possibility of the mass being an ovary bothers me because I am BRCA II positive and am at high risk of ovarian and breast cancer. I don't think I am worried about it being cancer because a recent ultrasound showed the mass was smaller and doctors have assured me that it is not cancer. If I have a retained ovary and I am 51 years old, wouldn't the ovary be producing less estrogen at times/some months?
414018 tn?1268611672 Hi, just wondering if anyone on here as had to go through a medical menopause in order to stop the production of estrogens which is what some breast and ovarian cancers feed off? I started one using a nasal spray at the start of teh year but did not last the month as it literally sent me crazy. Due to an increase in my ca125 i now have to start it again trying a tablet instead. Any experiences shared would be greatly appreciated.
Avatar f tn How are you on HRT and still getting your period???? Something is very wrong with that. You should not be on HRT if you still mensturate. If it were me, I would go see another OB/GYN immediately. I do not believe that HRT is advised if you still mensturate. Have you had a 2nd opinion?
Avatar f tn He did not prescribe any type of progesterone for me to take but told me to go ahead and take the Premarin. Advised me that I should see a gyn--which I already did and they did not test my hormones at all. I have terrible hot flashes every day, insomnia, anxiety and mood changes. All of which I thought was monopause. I don't know what to do. I am so scared and confused. I had an echocardigram done and the cardiologist said there were some abnormalities.
Avatar m tn I took the 1/2 pill with great caution as my mom took premarin for many years and ended up with breast cancer which eventually took her life 5 years ago). I have been tortured since stopping my premarin regime. I don't think I have had a full nights sleep since - in fact last evening the first wake up was at 3:38 and then I had 5 more flashes before I finally got out of bed and started my day with more flashes. My gen practioner has suggested prozac ... sorry but that seems a bit severe.
Avatar f tn I was on synthetic hormones during peri-menopause and after menopause.....I felt better but I ended up with ovarian cancer.....go figure! Peace.
778044 tn?1299542934 I was on 6 months of Lupron and ended in March. Still waiting for my period to return. I was just given Premarin and agyestin to try and "jump start" my period. Has anyone used Premarin to help jump start their period? And if so, how long did it take? I am on it for 25 days (Premarin) and then starting the aygestin after the 16th day.
Avatar f tn So, she said that doing LEEP or crytology is not an option. She gave me Premarin Cream to use 3 times weekly and wants me to come back in June for a repeat paap smear. Any ideas on alternate treatment?
Avatar f tn my dr put me on premarin for hrt...it helped me alot and i had pmdd before my hysterectomy...mine was june 2011 for removal of cervical cancer i've been on premarin ever since, it does work ask your dr what he thinks.
Avatar f tn I had complete hysterectomy at age 24 and went on HRT till the age of 50. I never gave birth to children. Had 7 misscarriages. Have fibrocystic breast. Had reg mammograms for 22 yrs. Although 3 yrs went by before my dr and I realized it was time. I had my mammogram 2 days ago and they called me this morning setting me up next week for spotcompression, sonogram and told me not to worry! Sorry a little late for that. Estrogen only, ( premarin 1.25 for 8 yrs) then 2.
Avatar f tn So, I think you mom needs to have more tests to find the problem. Primary peritoneal carcinoma behaves very similarly to ovarian cancer. The tumors are like grains of sand on a floor when they first begin which makes them hard to see on scans until they reach a certain size. I think your mom should be referred to a gynecologic oncologist to rule out gyn malignancies. If this doesn't reveal anything, then she needs to have all other areas checked.
Avatar f tn Any cysts in a postmenopausal woman should be taken seriously and ovarian cancer should be ruled out. You should get a repeat ultrasound and CT scan done. A CA125 blood test should also be performed. Simple cysts (those which only contain liquid) are generally benign and may be followed through serial ultrasounds for a period of time. Cysts should be considered for removal if they are associated with pain or an elevated CA125.
Avatar n tn I have stage 1C ovarian cancer. I had a hysterectomy and staging surgery on November 15, 2007, and am currently undergoing chemotherapy. I am 46 years old, and had normal levels of hormones prior to diagnosis. Following the surgery, my doctor put me on estrogen patches (HRT). It is his belief that the benefits of estrogen outweigh the risks at my age. My pathology report showed that my ovarian cancer was estrogen receptive/reactive. So why is HRT okay?
2176548 tn?1340677817 Anyone who has been on Lupron, Premarin and Medroxy ever experience sore breasts and increase in breast size? My boobs have gotten bigger and are like constantly sore!!! Hurts to take off my bra!! Please help!!!
498596 tn?1210700259 her sister (my mothers aunt) died of stomach cancer... and we wonder if that might have had any relationship to ovarian. That being said... I am very interested in this test as I do have an increased risk for breast on my paternal side and now a direct line geneticlly to ovarian cancer. I think the advice given above is a good one. To do the testing with a history or direct line to ovarian cancer...although whatever makes you most comfortable is what you should do. Hope this helps...
Avatar f tn My mother got the run around for 6 months before we took her two hours away and they diagnosed her immediately with ovarian cancer and guess what - stage 4. We lost her in 3 1/2 months!
