Hi I too have had problems with Phentermine I am taking the speckled 35mg. The Capsules never worked for me. I still don't have much results with phentermine but I can say that it distracts my brain into not thinking about food. I just stay busy the best I can and try not to be around food. The downside of Phentermine for me was: I usually don't feel it working, Caffeine will counter act mine as well as stress and anything else negative in my life.
The recommended way to use Phentermine is as part of a calorie controlled diet and exercise program, because this will bring the fastest results, and avoid dependence. Phentermine is habit forming, which means that the body gets used to it, so after a few weeks it won't have the same effect as when you first use it, and using it for longer periods can result in withdrawal symptoms when you stop taking it.
My doctors suggest that I take Phentermine but im taking levothyroxine 88mg and Cytomel 5mg due to thyroidectomy 3 years ago and I have gain weight due to hypothyroidism. Have anyone tried the phentermine while on levothyroxine and Cytomel?
I've been on methadone for 3 years and decided to try and lose a little weight. Only want to lose like 25 lbs. Started taking phentermine a week ago. Docter tested my thyoid level it was low so now I'm taking levothyroxine. First couple days were fine but when I added the thyroid medicine I started getting headaches and just not feeling right. Should I continue all three medicines? I really want to lose the weight! What should I do?
You make a great point that weight loss medication like phentermine is not a long term weight loss solution. If you do go back to old habits, you might expect to gain back the weight that you lost. But the good news is that you're in a good starting place and you are still motivated to keep it going. Good luck!

Finally, a few months ago I found this forum and I heard about a prescription weight loss pill, phentermine 37.5 mg. I read so many comments from people that had such great results that I decided to do some research on it myself.
Crying all the time with panic attacks and scared feelings as well as sleeping issues. I got mine from a weight loss clinic who explained to me it is not the phentermine causing any of this. m curious why more studies have not been conducted to study the correlation between phentermine and acne? Acne is not listed as a possible side effect of phentermine, but phentermine is considered a methamphetamine; methamphetamines are known to causes acne. I am a biology teacher and am frustrated that medical professionals are not confirming the overwhelming reports of acne being associated with phentermine. Is it a conspiracy????
Neither of these drugs are supposed to cause weight gain either. Phentermine is a stimulant/appetite suppressant. I am going to try liposage slim wrap this week and see if that helps.

Since being diagnosed I have started taking a half tablet of phentermine to control my appetite in an effort to lose weight. I also started taking birth control again. My doctor also prescribed taking metformin(glucophage) in addition to the phentermine and birth control. Back in June this year (2010), I started taking Phentermine for weight loss. About a week into the treatment I had an intensely itchy hive wheal on my right hand and also itchy skin on the backs of my legs just under my buttocks. I thought it could have been a dust allergy because I know I'm allergic to dust, among many other things. I went off the Phentermine, and the wheal never went away, but it didn't bother me too much either.

Thyroid function can be diminished, even though blood test results are in the normal ranges. If your results were low in the ranges, you could still have symptoms. Same goes if you have Hashimoto's Thyroiditis, which is an autoimmune thyroid condition, in which the body destroys the thyroid. With Hashimoto's, it's very common for symptoms to appear before blood tests go out of range. Ask you doctor to test you for thyroid antibodies.
I too have done Phentermine (it is banned in canada now) and lost weight. You cannot be on it forever and your advice is bang on!! You do have to get up and move to burn calories. The food tracker in here is awesome!! It really makes you look where your food calories are coming from.
I was given phentermine 15 mg by a "doctor" at a weight loss clinic. I'm a bit skeptical because of all the negative reviews I have read. I am currently 136 at 5' 3'' and want to get to my pre pregnancy weight of 120. I have tried other diets and just cant seem to get the extra weight off. My son is now 1 and i'm starting to feel a bit depressed about the extra pounds. Is 15 mg enough for me to lose the weight?

After my son was born i weighed 180 pounds.I recently started taking phentermine for weight loss but i read that i can gain the weight back because my body will try to gain its normal weight back. My question is will my body feel safe at 140 pounds or will it try to recover the 180 pounds i had weighed?Also i would like to know if there is any chance of me gaining weight while taking phentermine? I follow a low carb diet but i have not seen fast results.
